–The Big Bad wasn’t Enchantress, it was June Moon. She got away with it, too, right in plain view. Enchantress will certainly be instrumental in taking her down in the sequel.
–When Waller goes back to get more funding, will anyone point out that her team has yet to defeat an enemy it didn’t actually create?
–I think the Social Justice critique of the film–“Harley Quinn is a domestic abuse victim!”–kind of misses the point. With the possible exception of Katana, I doubt anyone on the team wasn’t abused in their youth.
–Boomerang is 'way too burly. He’s supposed to be a skinny little guy everyone underestimates. Plus, not a single one of his boomerangs ever made it back to him…
He threw one at Katana just as Slipknot was making his break. Katana holds Boomerang against the wall with her sword at his throat. At that time he catches the boomerang he had just thrown. Not only did he catch it, but it moved to end up where he was.
He had a bunch of scenes, but they didn’t really add to the movie at all. So yeah, both are true for me. Didn’t help that I thought he was eye-rollingly bad in both acting and characterization.
I guess he means that she summoned Enchantress while Flagg was sleeping for no apparent reason, which was what prompted the breakout of her brother and recovery of her heart. I thought that was a sign that Enchantress has more control over June than thy thought, but maybe we were meant to understand the June was actually evil? Nothing else in the mmvie seemed to support that interpretation, though.
Saw it last night. I went in with a pretty open mind, but what a train wreck!
Even as a popcorn movie there was just too many issues that deterred it from being entertaining:
Characters that didn’t need to be in there
Absolutely idiotic “goal” of rescuing Viola Davis
The story jumped around way too much. I’m wondering if there will be a directors cut when it comes out on DVD? The only way the movie I saw yesterday makes sense is if they re-splice about 45 minutes of cut footage.
With the exception of Nolan’s Batman movies every DC movie I’ve seen is far inferior to even the weakest Marvel (not Sony) studio comic to film movie.
I think DC needs to kidnap some writers and directors from the Marvel universe to turn their franchises around.
Bad Marvel: Hulk, Howard the Duck, All FF films, Elektra.
Good DC movies: Superman (1978, and in fact this may be the best SH film of all time), Batman (1989), RED and the films you mentioned. Not to mention their* excellent animated films.

All DC needs to do is fire fucking Zack Snyder. He hasnt made a decent film since 300. He hates Superman and Batman.
I think he meant the MCU movies vs. DCU, not just anything based on a Marvel character or DC character. So Marvel doesn’t get blamed for Howard the Duck, etc, and DC doesn’t get credit for Donner’s Superman(still my favorite Hackman role).
