Summer Fun in the MMP!!

We’ve been to the gym and run some errands. Food Lion in Leonardtown had a disaster - their freezers died overnight, so no frozen foods at all. As in no ice cream!!! So I got everything else we needed, then we stopped at McKay’s for some ice cream. It’s all good now.

I put away my purchases, then mixed up a batch of rotissin’ rub. One of my purchases was ribs, and they’ve been rubbed and put in a low oven till they fall apart. Supper will be yum! **FCD **tossed the animals’ afghans in the washer - I’ll be hanging them out shortly.

It’s loverly outside - sunny, a little breeze, upper 70s, low humidity!! I may actually go out and pull some weeds! Or not. We shall see.

Hopefully the only thing you bring home from a visit to that one is the glitter.

You missed your chance, Moooommm. One year we went to my Aunt’s for Thanksgiving. She served ice cream for dessert (along with all of the traditional pies), but with all of the scooping & who wants a scoop & who wants two, etc. she forgot to put it back in the freezer. When we finally got up from the table it had melted but was still cold. In other words, a milk shake, undiluted with milk! It was nummy!!! :stuck_out_tongue:
You shoulda grabbed a carton, ripped off the lid & chugged right there! Then gone over to the paper products aisle, because, hey, you’re not a heathen & needed a napkin.

I had to go to the store this morning, I pull up to a red light, it’s sunny out, I look to my right & it’s raining under the gas station roof. WTF???
What I can’t see because the B-post is blocking my view is that there’s a guy on a ladder power washing the underside of the roof. :o

I am regretting taking this unit with the private rear terrace. Rain on pavers in NOI-ZEE!

I have been puttin’ copious amounts of casenotes in participant efiles this mornin’. Sooooooo booooooorrrrrrriiiiiinnnnn’! However, it must be done cause if’n it ain’t writ down it didn’t happen. Plus it’s so much fun when somebody denies we talked about sump’n or had a deadline to do sump’n and didn’t do it and denies knowin’ about it to be able to say on such and such date, at such and such time we discussed this and you stated you were in full agreement. You’d be shocked, shocked, I say at how all of a sudden stuff gets remembered. Plus I always have ‘em sign a statement sayin’ they agree/understand that’s in the physical file here at the orifice. I am teh evile!

Spidey you’re all class.

I moved to the Dominican Republic for retirement and have continual summer fun, sitting my old fat saggy ass on the beach and watch the continual parade of young local ladies in their bikinis . Summer fun even when I don;t catch one of those full bikinis. And there are days that I do! Real summer fun!

Door mat!! It should silence it some.

Trying to notify my credit union that I’ll be traveling - what a fiasco!! The woman is sloooooooooooow!

Emily, sounds like it’s time for some Vapo-rub™. Rub some on your chest for the cough and swab your nose to open things up. If you’re not over this soon, I’ll send virtual chicken soup.

Got new brakes, the erl changed, tahrs rotated and fluids topped yesterday in preparation to go out of town. Spent my allowance doing it too.

I got a FB friend request yesterday that took a while to figure out. The name was a female version of a John Smith type with only one last name. After doing a bit of research, I discovered it was the (then) teenage neighbor girl who used to babysit us kids when the folks went out forty-mumbly years ago. And she seems to be as much fun as a sixty year old as she was a teen!

Swampy in the business world one must always CYA.

I probably told this story before, maybe not.

I was the one in the office that kept notes of everything. Every memo, every phone call, every meeting, I made up notes and sent a copy to everyone involved as to what was said and agreed upon.
One day in a conference call, there were maybe a dozen of us in the conference room and we were talking with the offices in CA and IL. There was a VP on the call who was a real PITA. (It came out later that he had a major drinking problem). Anyway during the call he started berating me for some report I had created. it was a worthless report, poorly designed and incredibly stupid. Then he demanded to know whose idea it was. I flipped through my notebook of memos and said if you look back at memo dated such and such you will see that you are the one who requested this report.
You could hear the snorts as everybody tried to suppress their laughter. The person closest to our phone hit the mute button. My boss had a red face and his shoulders were shaking from holding it in Another supervisor in our meeting had a great big smile on her face. It took a bit for everybody to get it together and not just the ones in our office.
Everybody who though I was a fool for keeping everything now understood why I did. I was not going to be his target that day and I was not going to take the blame for his incompetency.

I’ll see what I can do to get the weather decent for ya Mooooom, but we do have a reputation to uphold, so I ain’t guaranteeing nuttin’. It’s all nice and sunny today, of course, 'cos I have stuff inside to do.
Had interview today- think it went quite well, she seemed nice and kept saying really positive stuff, which is good. They need someone pretty well immediately, which cuts down their options too. It’d be really easy for me to get to, being right next to the train station which is just a few stops down from the one right by the house. Fingers crossed!

We received more than month’s worth of rain in a six hour period overnight. It caused some flooding in various places, but fortunately, I didn’t experience any of that mess.

I took hubby’s car to the shop yesterday and am waiting to see how much that’s going to cost.

I had a bunch of other stuff written, but I deleted it. Let’s just say I’m not a happy person right now and leave it at that.

Welp, time for some more coffee.

That was me a couple of days ago, Taters. I got a dumb warning in the Co. parking garage for parking in a corner where I couldn’t get dinged, then on the way home the car wash quit after just covering me with presoak soap, then when I tried to pull into my garage the door wouldn’t open because the main spring had snapped and had to be replaced, then the central air went out in the house and I had to replace the entire condenser/compressor with a new unit which took a couple of days, this after the inlaws had just arrived for a week’s stay.

Then… I got better. You will too.

Good luck Nuts

Taters I do that all the time. I hope things get better.

I’m got talked into going to the ocean this weekend. I think it will be fun and who knows? Maybe the ocean air will be good for my lungs. We’ll be staying at my friends FILs house, he’s in rehab still.

My other friend wants me to go get a chest x-ray because I am having so much trouble breathing. I want to wait until after I move because the doctor thinks it’s just stress.

What a pretty day it is turning out to be, nice and cool and breezy.
My butterfly bush is starting to attract the bigger butterflies now. I still get a lot of small ones but today the monarchs and swallowtails are coming around.

I walked downtown today. I wandered around for a while, then I went to the library, then I had the lunch buffet at the really good Indian place. Their broccoli pakoras will change your relationship with veggies. Very yum. Then I walked home.

Bad: my ol’ gimpy foot hurts.
Good: I found a copy of The Maltese Falcon on the free please take rack at the library.

I’d need about two dozen to cover the whole back terrace

OK, a hunk of indoor/outdoor carpet. You’re welcome!

I’m making a list of stuff not to forget on my last day of packing. Hope I don’t lose my list… I went ahead and packed the rest of my clothes, just to be sure I’ll have enough space. All that remains to go in the second suitcase are unders, socks, toothpaste, and facial moisturizer. Everything else goes in my carry-on backpack.

I’m going to make 3 yarn thingies to put on my bags so I can spot them more easily. They’re bright red, so they’ll stand out anyway, but just in case someone else has red Samsonite, I need my special markers. Not sure what I’ll use, but I have some crazy yarns, so I can come up with something exciting.

Yes, exciting. No snarking! :stuck_out_tongue:

Move next door to Western Union would be the easy answer.

Brilliant, Dingo! Why did that not occur to me??

My jaundice is back, hence the itching I’ve been bitching about. Ugh.

Good news!
The sellers agreed to all the repairs I asked for and threw in one extra.
