Condi probably smells better, I doubt she uses Old Spice.

I watched the two vids. Cheney just doesn’t care about reality, as usual.

Rice claims that the DIA reports is something that would have been folded into a bigger intelligence assessment, and conceivably tossed if the CIA Director felt that contradictory evidence was stronger.

It’s possible, but that would make her a pretty shitty National Security Advisor.

Yes, I understand, but both are engaged in after-the-fact finger pointing, neither are trustworthy, and the only way to get a clue who’s telling the truth is to look at the document trail. It may be that CIA summaries ecluded the DIA report, which would be an indicator that Rice might be truthful in this case. Then again, there could be a copy of the DIA report somewhere with her initials checked off as having read it.

I guess my pont is that she could have been truthful about this point if she relied totally on George Tenant for intelligence summaries. As National Security Advisor, IMO, she should have been seeking information from more sources.

Outright lying, willful blindness, or simple incompetence? This is the rainbow of the Bush Administration. Where Condi fits on the spectrum, I’m not so sure.

That does not piss me off. At this point, I’m used to partisan politics and how a member of one’s own party cannot be criticized for fear of bringing the whole party into question. I think it’s wrong, but I just can’t get that worked up over it. Heavens knows the Democrats pull the same BS.

No, what pisses me off is that the Democrats have been silent. They should be up in the Administration’s face, demanding an accounting - for the lives lost, for our civil liberties in shreds, for our nation’s loss of respect and credit with the rest of the world. Even the so called opponents of the party in power have done nothing to challenge what’s been going on, and I’ll say it’s for fear of being labeled traitors and Friends of Bin Laden.

It’s about time we had an elected official with the balls to call Bush and his people on their outright lies and the harm they’ve done to the United States.

What I “love” is when the press asks Rummy, Cheney, et. al. about something that they said which was a total fabrication, and Rummy, etc.,deny ever having said it, and then the press spring the video of them saying it. Those moments are classic.

Supposedly, when the 9/11 Commission announced that they could find no link between Iraq and AQ, members of the administration came out and said that the commission lacked the information that the administration had. Now, why the fuck didn’t everyone start screaming at the Administration at that point? I mean, if you’ve got a group of people who’s job it is is to find out exactly what the fuck happened, and they’re not being told everything they need to know (and apparently, members of the commission are now saying that they believe the Pentagon deliberately covered up their mistakes, yet nothing seems to be being done about this, like punishing those folks for lying to the commission), then how the fuck are they supposed to do their job?

Obviously they’re not. The administration was dragged into the commission kicking and screaming, because they simply don’t believe they’re accountable to anyone, except maybe “history”.
