Sunday Morning Puzzle

An old family tradition, Sunday morning puzzles gave something to think about during slow times, especially if the sermon was boring. This one is relatively easy.

What is the next word in this sequence:

Created, Beginning, Created, God, The, ?...

Hmmm, I think I must have slept through that sermon and missed the puzzle too

Wow, and I predicted to my sister that folks here would get this in minutes!

Beginning.

why?

Well, I’d say “in,” but that seems too obvious.

I’ll vote for “Created.” I see it as a pattern of: Created, (one word), Created, (two words), Created, etc.

Hmm… this must have been more difficult then I thought.

If I told you that the next word in the sequence was “form” could anyone give the next two words after that?

No.

How about, “beginning”,“the” for the next two in the sequence. Each word is the first word in the bible containing ascending letters of the alphabet?. um maybe!

You should know this one!

(quote)
In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.

And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.
(end quote)

“…and there was light.” Congratulations messiah.

Bit before my time this NT stuff.
Thanks for the quote Uncle, but my initial algorithm still seems to fit.
ie. first word containing ‘a’ = created
first word containing ‘b’ = beginning

Help, please? I’ve read this three times and I still don’t understand it. What does this have to do with the repeated “Created”?

sorry OT not NT (putz symbol)

Yeah. I’m not following the explaination either.

Yeah. What Cal said. Me too.

I’ll type really slowly.

“Created” is the first word in the Bible that contains the letter “a”.

“Beginning” is the first word that has “b” in it.

“Created” is the first word that has “c” in it, no matter it was used for “a”.

“God” is the first with “d”.

And so on…

You have to go to Chapter 4, Verse 18 to get “j” “Mehujael”

Uncle Bill gets nasty because some people can’t explain clearly.

Explanations are ALWAYS easy to understand when you already know the answer.

Humble apologies for my failure in explanationism.
My excuse: I thought that my answer was hopelessly wrong, and didn’t deserve any more than a single line explanation.
Thanks UncleBill for ably filling in, for my inadequacies.
‘I wont do it again’, repeated 100 times.
