Well, that was exciting! Go Pats!!
I would have said the same thing if not for NE.
To this day I’m not a fan of the OT rules. IMO it should be in increments of time that allows both teams a shot at a touchdown. Not to take away from NE but they won a very valuable coin toss.
I don’t think Atlanta choked any more than I think NE choked the first half. I could be wrong but Atlanta looked like they had 2 extra players on the field in the first half. They were everywhere all the time. It’s possible they wore themselves out.
The early domination of the first half of the game was just as surprising as the second half domination. A spectacular game.
The best Super Bowls I have ever seen were the two times the Giants beat the Patriots.
But that was certainly the most incredible Super Bowl I’ve ever seen.
93 plays for NE to only 46 for Atlanta. That will wear out a defense quick. (and I know ATL did not get ball in OT)
“This just in…millions of haters call OT rules ‘archaic and created by slave owners.’, news at ten.”
I kid.
Another yawner.
For sure in the top 50.
I wanted NE to win but it would have tasted better if the Falcons also had a shot at overtime. They almost pulled off an interception.
And the Patriots covered the spread.
Well. Bet you didn’t knock on wood.
If there was any choke, it was the Atlanta offense, not the defense. Except for the one touchdown on their second possession of the second half, they did absolutely nothing whenever they had the chance to salt it away. They had it at the NE41 after the onside kick recovery and got…nothing. They had it around the NE35 after Jones’ spectacular catch and got…nothing. Field goal either time and we’re talking about Julio Jones tonight.
The defense, not highly rated coming into the game, held NE to 9 points in 3 quarters and beat the crap out of Brady all night and scored on an interception. They simply wore out because their offense couldn’t sustain control (did the telecast, which I was not impressed by, ever show time of possession, especially in the second half?). Once NE won the toss in OT, the game was as good as over.
Great comeback and you don’t give Tom F*****’ Brady that many shots, but I put it directly on the Falcons offense.
IMHO as always. YMMV.
I think it’s fair to call it a choke given how Atlanta tried to manage the fourth quarter. No reason not to play for the field goal up 28-20, for example, but I guess that’s easy to say now.
It did feel like Atlanta got the breaks in the first half and NE in the second.
SHIT ! I wanted the Pats to lose big time ! I can’t stand seeing Tom Brandy face on the face on the news so much ! He going to on all day living in New England !
BWAAAAAHHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAA!
Most SB wins ever.
Biggest comeback in Super Bowl history.
That’s gotta sting a little.
Looks like a case of the Patriots weren’t going down without a fight but the Falcons were.
The biggest downside is that the Nazi who got punched, Richard Spencer, is happy, because he already tweeted that he liked the Patriots because they’re the “whitest team in the NFL,” and said both Bellichick and Brady are Trump supporters.
Then again, I’m sure the Falcons have at least a few KKK fans, so that may be a wash.
“I can’t believe the guy with the foreign model wife and a sketchy history with the rules just won after being written off.”
What a great comeback. Best Superbowl in a long time.
The Pats proved they are great champions. Never giving up.
Bah…fucking sad. But sorry, number of rings doesn’t change the fact that he’s a lying cheat.
