I was hoping the Superdome would go all post apocalyptic with the power outage. Factions forming, lord of the flies happening, and maybe a bit of cannibalism. I’d love to see Beyonce feasting on the flesh of the other Destiny Children.
The Niners are snapping the ball with 5 or less seconds on the play clock. They’re showing no sense of urgency.
It’s all part of Harbaugh’s cunning plan to make sure that the other Harbaugh won’t have to time to overturn the epic comeback.
Weird clock management is kind of a Super Bowl tradition. I still remember when the Seahawks had the ball at the end of the first half of their one Super Bowl appearance, they were losing, and they just… let the clock run out. They ran a few plays, didn’t try to stop the clock, and just walked into the locker room, making essentially no effort to get a scoring play in while they had the ball.
At this point, I am rooting for the 49ers because I will greatly enjoy watching the shitstorm that will erupt when all the Ravens fans blame the power outage.
Okay, so why do you not attempt a 2-point conversion there?
I can’t think of any reason why getting the extra point is better than taking the shot at 2. It’s now 28-13. San Fran is down by 15; they need two touchdowns and either would have to try a 2-point conversion on one of them, or will need a field goal. But two TDs and a field goal passes Baltimore’s point total anyway even if they miss the 2-point conversion. But if they get the 2, then they don’t need a field goal to tie it. There isn’t any realistic Baltimore scoring play that changes the math; a Baltimore field goal now puts SF down 18, so they still need a 2-point conversion if they get two TDs and a field goal. Or Baltimore could score a touchdown in which case everything I already said remains true except substitute “two touchdowns” with “three.” No matter how you slice it, trying to make it 28-14 is worth the risk of making it 28-12.
I just don’t get some of these decisions.
You never go for 2 with more than 10 minutes left in the game, because one must always adhere to retarded NFL coaching conventions! Now you get a 10 yard penalty for even thinking about it.
Finally, a game!
Game back on…
The “Blackout Bowl” if it turns into a 49ers win, or not, may end up as one of the best in a while.
And all it took was a little overload… But yeah, now we’re talking…
I know the Commercial thread is ‘over there’, but that Budwesier commercial has to be the best one I’ve seen so far tonight.
I knew the Niners had it in them to make the come back. Here’s hoping they don’t make it all the way back.
John just sent a text to his brother for his electrician recommendation.
Oh man, this would be one of the greatest meltdowns ever. Please.
Turnover! Woo Hoo!
If the 49ers comeback and win this game, they ought to give the MVP to this guy.
Youtube link Cued up to 1min45sec point but the guy at 1min55sec
That’s better.
Oscar goes to Akers
That really should have been a personal foul glad they didn’t though, as if people will need anymore to whine about if the niners win.
