Look - he was due to show up any day now - just no one knew exactly when.
You know, I never even noticed that Jesus was missing.
Half my problem with it is the lack of reference. The fact that they never said he was dead, or where he was (perhaps he was away in another universe), means that he probably didn’t exist, or wasn’t resurrected according to whatever biblical story they are otherwise basing their universe on.
I think it could have been made fun, cool or throwaway. Technically he was bloodline of god, so could have been the way out. Much more so than the son of an arch being as powerful as god.
One could argue, I suppose, that as a triune God, JC would just be Chuck in a different hat, same agenda; just the meat suit that Chuck wore when he was inserting himself in the story.
Having said that, I randomly watched the season 9 episode about Vesta the Roman goddess recently and she makes the point that the ‘hippy from Bethlehem’ changed everything. It’s a throw away line in a monster of the week ep, for whatever that’s worth.
Maybe there won’t be peace when you are done.
I’m hearing rumors, but even that article ends with:
" Regardless, the The Boys actor has assured his fans that the team will be ready to dive back in when the time is right. For now, there have been no confirmed public reports that a new Supernatural spinoff or revival in the form of Supernatural season 16 is underway. However, the network is likely aware that fans of the series would flock to anything within the franchise with open arms, especially if it reunites the Winchester boys on screen for the first time in over three years."
