Who’s watching? What do you think?
Last week’s episode was probably the funniest of the series, and this week showed a bit more complexity than some without the creepiness that I both love and hate.
I’m liking some of the moral greyness that’s creeping in, especially with last night’s demon.
Of course, maybe she had an ulterior motive in not wanting Dean dead, but it seemed more that she just didn’t see a reason to kill him.
When yellow-eyes was shot with the gun, did he disintegrate/die for good or did he just get sent back to hell?
I still don’t like blondie, but we’re getting more Bobby and that’s worth it.
Ruby’s really not working for me, either. I’m probably docking her a couple of points because the actress is David Cassidy’s spawn. Bela seems to have some promise, though.
I didn’t like how quickly the Colt was restored to its full otherworldly power so quickly. Of course, I would rather it stayed an ordinary gun forever; it was special because you only had a few shots. But it turns out that all it needed was an afternoon with Ruby, who apparently sent away for that gun repair course I remember Sally Struthers always hawking.
I wish we soon find out where they’re going this season, that is apart from saving Dean’s ass in the season finale/letting him die if it’s not renewed. If it’s gonna be demon of the week that escaped, with blondie ex machina helping out, then it’s gonna get boring real fast.
Apart from that, I’m enjoying it. They need more female eye candy though.
I’ve liked the first episodes this year, but I have to agree with you.
The Colt was hard to find, only had a few shots, and was central to seasons one and two. With a little help from the blond demon, Bobby fixes it and gets is bullets in a matter of 2 months?
I assume he’d been working on it since they killed “yellow eye”.
Like others, I’m annoyed with the return of the Colt (which might as well have “Deus ex Machina” engraved on the side).
I’m also not very enthused about the portrayal of demons in general this season. I like it when the demons are terrifying and dangerous, not when they’re pontificating like first-year philosophy students and getting killed really easily.
I don’t think they’ve done a good job showing why Sam (and apparently Bobby) are willing to keep Ruby around. Particularly Bobby. Why the heck wouldn’t he take her help to fix the Colt, and then shoot her? At this point it seems like the reason is just “she has a several-episode contract, and the plot says so”. [sub]I also wish they would have given the part to someone who can actually act.[/sub]
However, it is very early in the season, so I’m willing to wait and see how these things pan out.
I really liked the second and third episodes, and am looking forward to next week’s. I like that they seem to have upped the ante on the gruesomeness factor (especially those creepy leech-kids … eeew).
