Supper - What shall I have (what are you having?/What would you have)

Based on what I know about what is in my kitchen. My supper (I mean supper in the truer sense of the word - a meal just before bed) choices are as follows…

A bowl of bran-flakes.
Some toast with marmite.
A chicken salad sandwich.
Some nothing.
What shall I have? What are you having?

Bran flakes? - Nah, Too breakfast-y. Unless maybe you have a 'nanner to put in there.

Marmite? - I dunno, never had it.

Chicken salad? - I luuuuuurve it. 'Specially on toasted bread.

Nothing?! Heavens! What would your mum say !

I vote chicken salad.
Me, I’m having some cornbread, chili, and pasta.

Go with the chicken salad. As for us, the dinner menu at Casa Silenus is: fried chicken, mashed potatoes, roasted corn.

I just finished my supper. Green pepper, peapods and mushrooms stirfried in olive oil, with garlic powder and crushed red pepper.

Out of your selection, I’d opt for the chicken salad sandwich.

For you, the chicken salad.

I just ate: chicken, napa cabbage, onion, garlic, and a red pepper sauteed in olive oil with oregano, cayenne pepper and tobasco sauce. And a glass of water. I’ve got the kettle on the stove now, to make a cup of coffee for dessert.

I guess I’m having the chicken salad.

But I make a mean bowl of Branflakes though. Nobody else can pour milk onto bran flakes the way I do.

I’m probably gonna have Cheetos again. And maybe a nanna sammich. :stuck_out_tongue:

Out of your selections, I’d go to the store. Or have chicken salad.

We’re having a big pot of 15-bean soup with a hambone from an earlier meal. And cornbread cooked in a cast-iron skillet. I usually do it in a cake pan, but I thought I’d get all rustic and stuff.

Damn. Now I want Cheetos! glares at Hockey Monkey

I’m having kale with roasted garlic and sliced tomatoes plus edamame. But what I really want is queso and bean dip. But I’m too lazy to go up to the store which really helps me stay on track with the diet. Losing weight through laziness…

We’re going out for sushi tonight.

I don’t like chicken salad, so I’d go for the bran flakes.

I’d go with the chicken salad. Then again, I’m not a huge fan of bran flakes, and I loathe marmite.

We’re having stromboli after the rugrat goes to sleep. I’m also baking some homemade gorgonzola-pecan bread (I’m out of walnuts). We’ll probably have that with a salad tomorrow.

Go with the Chicken Salad - the Fooeys made pizza with basil, red onion, mozza, cheddar, and Parmiagina-Reggiano cheese.

And, uh, what’s Marmite? Anything like vegemite from the Men at Work song?

crush your bran flakes
make a chicken salad sandwich
coat the sandwich in flakes (add a little butter and oil) and fry it up.
It works with cornflakes, so probably would work with bran. You might have to toss in a little egg to make the coating stick though.

We are having grilled porkchops marinated in white wine and herbs, grilled pineapple, mixed green salad, honey biscuits and maybe apple pie for dessert.

I’m havin cornbread, turnip greens, dry rub BBQ from Rendezvous, and Memphis just kicked ass.

Spinach, fresh tomato, and goat cheese pizza
Chop salad with balsamic vinegar dressing
Zabaglione

It was a good night

Ooooh, I second this idea, but you could form the chicken salad into patties and coat them in the bran and fry them. That sounds really good!

We had roasted chicken, mushroom risotto, and brussell sprouts. The risotto isn’t really on the diet, but whatever, I’m cheating!

You got STOREBOUGHT ??? For shame !!

I’d pick the chicken salad. Been a long time since I’ve had a good chicken salad.

Dinner for me tonight was a plate of homemade gyoza dumplings, rice and a bowl of miso soup.

Made a great quinoa & black bean salad, also a creamy roasted red pepper soup and some whole wheat pita. Dessert was chocolate decadence biscotti and several glasses of hot tea. It’s a little more than I usually eat for dinner but later today I’m knocking out a 20 mile trail run so I eat guilt-free. In a few minutes I’m going out for a nice big breakfast too…I’m in the mood for a veggie scramble (tofu & veggies, plus homefries and toast) so off to Sunnyside Cafe.
