What's For Dinner?

Tonight I’m making meatloaf, seasoned oven potatoes and broccoli.

What are you cooking tonight?

Chili dogs…cheap, easy, the kids love 'em.

Nuthin, I’m heading over to jazzmine’s place…good eats there…

**Vietnamese chicken soup. **

The meat is cooling in the broth right now, where it simmered along with sliced shallots, minced garlic and ginger, and Thai fish sauce.

When I get back from picking the kids up, I’ll remove the chicken, bone and dice it and put it back in. Turn the heat back up. Add sliced bok choy, red peppers, shiitake mushrooms, shredded carrot and daikon.

Cook up some rice noodles, put 'em in big bowls for the four of us, and ladle the soup over. Chopped scallions and cilantro in little bowls on the side for garnish.

Beer for the grownups, I think. Not really a “wine” dinner.

Chicken whopper and a side salad with thousand island dressing.

Yum, Ike!

Harli, come on over. The more the merrier. Bring something good to drink to go with dinner.

Rosemary and minted lamb steaks, minted new potatoes and petit pois - I was in the mood for mint tonight.

Dessert… pumpkin pie I made last night.

What the fuck? Are all youze trying to make the rest of us look bad? We’re having Enchilada Casserole LEFTOVERS. I would much rather eat at anyone of your homes tonight! Talented bunch…especially for a Wednesday night!

Now that I have satisfied my BBQ cravings, we are having Country Fried (or Chicken Fried, if you prefer) Steak, rice and some other stuff that I will think of once I get myself into the kitchen.

Red Baron microwaveable pizza, cran-rasberry juice, 2% milk, and maybe a salami sandwich with mustard.

A regular High Table dinner, it is.

It is a toss-up between Ramen and mac&cheese. My taste buds absolutely refuse to care about the issue so I usually have to read tea leaves to figure out which.

I have no idea. My whole parents, brother, sister, brother-in-law, and their three children just left after staying with me for 8 days. The fridge is a shadow of its former stocked glory. Please let me know of anything I can make with:
– 5 slices of Swiss cheese
– Several frozen juice cans
– Peppermint candy ice cream
– 1/2 loaf sourdough bread
– Deer sausage
– Assorted chocolates

I am thinking… some sort of sandwiches.

“My whole parents.” Now there’s a term. I started to write “my whole family,” and changed my mind. See what lack of food can do to a person?

You know where you should be for dinner then…

Since it’s kinda turning into soup weather here, I’m going for chicken vegetable and noodle soup.

Shepherds Pie. I peeled the potatoes eariler, but my SO does the rest, because he makes the best food between the two of us, AND he even LIKES cooking! He’s in the kitchen right now. My contribution to most meals involves me asking “Need help?” about every 5 minutes so that I don’t feel like such a mooch  I think I’ll go prepare some juice to go with it.

Salad, a muffin, and non-fat frozen yogurt, which means no taste, but that’s all the cafeteria has for cheap.

I miss real food.

Ahem.

A reheated steak and some black-eyed peas my mom made and froze for me. Ukulele Ike, Washte and Jazzmine all have my envy.

Overseasoned hunk 'o meat, and a Corona.
