Support your local farmers - a healthy and wholesome MMP

Thanks, that helped. You should have seen me at work yesterday and Wednesday. Not pretty.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. Today’s plans are to spend the day with my bear. GRRRRRRRRR…

Ima go make some brekkies for him shortly. Bacon, aigs, grits and biscuits. That should rouse him outta bed! Then it is a serious day of loungin’ around, just the two of us.

Happy Firday Y’all!

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!!!

Good vibes going out to sticky’s mom.

Happy Firday to alla rest of you.

I’ve got Fambly coming in tonight. Nurse Debbie, son and boyfriend coming down from MA and Brother Tom coming from Houston. We’ll eat out tonight and there will be a pool party tomorrow night. Other activities will be specking out some retirement communities for my brother, buying some electronics, possibly seeing Lil Lestat compete in a triathalon and maybe a movie if we can fit it all in. Whew! Glad next weekend has a hollerday in it.

That’s all I got.

Tupug

Blurf. Happy firday.

GT, did you put my recipe for stuffed jalapeno peppers in the recipe blog? It wasn’t recent…

Anyway, I have a warning. I happened to make some this week, and used jalapenos from a different source than usual. They were considerably hotter than I am accustomed to.

Who knew that peppers make great laxatives? As an added bonus of misery, I now know what it’s like to erroneously use Ben Gay instead of Preparation H.

**BBBobbio **wins this week’s TMI award.

And on that note, I’m going to work. rah. yay.

:stuck_out_tongue:

Brekkies done and et. Yummy! However, I got told that I was not goin’ to spend all weekend cookin’ stuff. Fine with me.

That’s why I spoilered it.

Are you going to welcome your new dress code overlords?

I do support my local farmers but it is to laugh. During the summer months it’s wonderful. But there is some stupid Chef out there that says I should ONLY buy local. If that’s the case I’d be eating only squash and acorns for six months out of the year!

Oh, and I know the topic has probably changed 9,117 times since the OP. Still, I wanted to answer it.

Meeks! So good to see you!

Still sending out good vibes for Sticky’s mom.

This week has not been kind to my waistline at all. After my hair appointment, I’m going to have to come home and work off too many calories to count.

Bobbio, my husband has felt your pain WRT to jalapeno’s too many times. He used to love jalapeno poppers. Problem was, he paid for it in a biiiig way when it was time to sit on the pot.

It’s cool and wet here…where the hell is May?

Time to brush my toofeses and head out to my hair appt.

BBBobbio for future reference that’s not how one usually goes about gettin’ a “hot” ass. :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m inside to get some snackies. We need snackies. Gotta keep our strength up. This loungin’ around the pool stuff can be quite strenuous after all. Besides since we’re practisin’ on our seven deadly sins, gluttony needs to have its chance. So far it’s been sloth and lust. Some degree of gluttony is sure to ensue. Greed, wrath, envy and pride, well I’m not sure those will be accomplished. But, hey, 3 out of 7 ain’t bad right?

Ok, gotta head back out there so we can get workin’ on gluttony!

ETA: Hiya Meeks! LTNS! MWAH

He was out with the oil lamp somewhere writing a novel. Yeah – that’s right - writing a novel. Ignore the bottle of lotion in his pocket.

Or, as a sort of alternate ending

He was spending the night with John-Deere?

My mom is still sick today but seems much better than yesterday.

I’d like to rethink my answer to the OP. I do frequent the local Amish/Mennonite/Pennsylvania Dutch Market all the time. And if I need fresh produce, etc. for my lunches, I try to buy it there. I was just there this morning, as a matter of fact, to buy fresh chocolate covered pretzels! LOL

I need to get moving. I should be getting ready for Renaissance Faire.

I finished my room, except for unpacking one box of books and taking a few more things to my storage unit and to the thrift store. I got all my hats hung. I think it looks cool. They’re on the ceiling over my bed. You can miss them if you don’t look up, but when you do it’s like ‘damn, you have a lot of hats.’ And yes, I do. It took 24 hooks to hang them all. I may post pictures later.

Yeah, so I still have to finish getting ready for Faire. I have to cook some stuff, pack, pack food, and run to the grocery store and bank.

So, I’ll see you all on Monday.

Hi, Mika! Nice to see you!

It’s been a long weekend. i am grateful for the long weekend starting as soon as Mr. Lissar gets home.

WOOF! That’s what I gotta say about today. OYKW knows how to keep me… ummm… entertained.

Anwho, we’s through with pooltime and all showered and clean. Need some food type substance soon. Despite what I was told about cookin’, it shall be hot dawgs on the grill. I want me a hot dawg!

Tomorrow we are havin’ some friends over for an afternoon of pooltime and merriment. I am not I am not to be doin’ any cookin’. Seriously. It all got planned to involve me not makin’ any food. Said I, people comin’ to da cave and me not makin’ food. I was told I would not. The noive! Of course it remains to be seen how I will do re somebody else usin’ my grill. I’m told burgers will be involved which means they will need to be cooked. Yeah, well, I have let OYKW use my grill but still, I’m supposed to not do anything and people are comin’ over.

I may need to be restrained.

Not that that’s a bad thing.

OMG, what a day. Got to work at 7:30am: had to leave for a doctor’s appointment, and then had a 4 hour meeting when I came back. Double blarf.

ICK! Jules that’s just mean!

Home at last. Work wasn’t too horrid, apart from having to be there till 6. ick. I did learn to use a new part of an old program - the thing we got “training” on yesterday. It’s actually pretty intuitive once you can click yourself. I done good picking that part, too. My cohort took on the other part of the task which turned out to be way complicated. But he’s smarter than I am in using certain features of the program, so he got it done way faster than I would have.

**FCD **took today off to do a short haul on the boat. That means taking it out of the water, pressure washing the scum off the hull, then putting it back in the water. Except when they were pressure washing, the bottom paint was coming off. It’s not supposed to do that. So **FCD **had them block the boat and he and daughter and daughter’s friend are going to paint ot tomorrow. $250 a gallon/ 2 gallons. Plus the cost of the haul and the cleaning and the time on the hill. This was supposed to be a $220 event. Not any more… :frowning:

New puppy is home. Must run…

After my hair appointment, my lovely daughter came down to pay a visit. We took off to Costco where I had to fight the Zombie Horde of Very Old Confused people who could neither walk nor push a cart.:mad: They converged on the sample stations like buzzards to fresh, steaming road kill and blocked all the aisles and they ran into me numerous times.

Anyway, I went there with the intention of picking up some make-up and Copper River Salmon. They sell a specific kind of base and eye shadow that I really like, but they didn’t have any. Oh, they had all manner of wrinkle remover/preventer crap, mascara, mineral bead blush, and lip gloss, but not what I needed.

At any rate, this did not prevent me from dropping more than 250 dollars there. Sheesh!

Dinner, however, will be tasty. Copper River (sorry Wendy) filet, spinach and cheese ravioli, alfredo sauce, and steamed vegetables. I won’t be having any alfredo sauce, though. I’ve eaten far too much rich and calorie laden food this week. I’ll be eating the salmon and veggies. My daughter wanted the ravioli and alfredo sauce. Since I don’t see her often, I obliged.

**FCM, **sorry to hear about the unanticipated work on the boat.

Swampy, let your sweetie and friend pamper you. You’re always doing for them, let them return the favor.

Yuck about the boat stuff MOOOOOOM. Yeah fun stuff like boats and pools… they’re not supposed to be high maintenance! YEAH, RIGHT!

Taters I have resigned myself to letting everybody else do stuff tomorrow. There’s even the possibility that I might not have to be restrained. I blame it all on my mother. What? Aren’t we supposed to blame our quirks on our mothers? Seriously. She’s the one I got my, gotta do all this stuff cause people are comin’ over, genes from. Plus I do actually like all the prep stuff.

I will probably need restraints. Or lots of beer. Either way, it’s all good!
