I can haz lunch? (N.O.L.)
I didn’t mean you, just crap in general…
Am tired and cranky today. Am practicing my cranky auld bitch routine for when I’m in the nursing home. I almost have it down, word perfect.
Wet, muggy and hot today. If I wanted to live in Houston, I would. Where has my lovely May gone?
I’m wondering where the hell May has gone too,** rigs.** It’s COLD and wet here.
Hey!!! It was actually pretty nice here today. Not too humid, a high of 90, but this morning was breezy and very nice at the dog park. I got a bit of a sunburn. But it’s almost June, here comes summer. Blech.
I’ve been doing laundry, as well as having washed three dogs. What a workout! ![]()
I went to the doctor yesterday, and I don’t have to go back for SIX months!!! Woo-hoo! He’s prescribing a new high blood pressure med, though. Boo. And I had my annual boob squishing, and the results are normal, so that’s good.
In between all my appointments, I was shopping! I had a gift card for Macy’s for $50, and I used that for two new blouses on Thursday, and yesterday I found two more blouses at Penney’s.
It was Mr Rebo’s birthday yesterday, and we celebrated at our little bar, and then got takeout fried chicken for dinner. We are party animals!!!
Beef stroganoff for dinner, and I’m still working on the menu and grocery list for next week.
There, now you’re all caught up on the minutae of Rebo’s life. ![]()
Not yet! ![]()
90? 90?!?
Jeebus–I get cranky and NOT HAPPY at 80. I absolutely loathe heat. I vacation in Iceland, people!
Now the temp has dropped a bit and the clouds have rolled in and yes, AGAIN with the rain (it’s imminent). WTH? First Houston today, now Seattle. Who’s a broad gotta knee-cap around here to get a Chicago May?
An ear infection? For ME?? Gee, just what I didn’t always want.
I went to a training drill today, practicing extrication of people from wrecked cars. I actually had the opportunity to cut metal and use the the power stuff (Jaws of Life) to get access to the dummies.
The best part was VWife went along because she’s doing a disaster response class herself, and she saw up close and personal what I do. Not one peep of crap from her for me being tired, or gone so long because I was involved in a big rescue operation…
Two of the scenarios were eerily similar to real wrecks I’ve worked, one of which left me with nightmares for a couple of nights afterwards. It was kinda fun to rework that one and win this time.
It’s much better than August when it pushes 100° for a month…

It can be 90 here and I hardly notice, because it’s so dry. Really. Honest to Og, it really is a dry heat. The native locals bitch if it gets much above 80 but they don’t know a good thing when they feel one. I’d settle for warm at this point. At least the snow’s gone.
Whereas last August when I went to visit the parental units I walked outside the airport at about midnight and broke into a sweat…it was only 75 but it was so awful and humid I wanted to turn around and go get on a plane to bring me back here!
Our high today was 92: right now, Intellicast says 88, but feels like 94. Hot and sticky: a perfect Mississippi summer day. Except it ain’t summer yet. Oh, dear Lord, our electric bills in the summer are HORRIBLE!
We got bonus yesterday, so we went out: hit Sams and had lunch (breakfast) at Cracker Barrel. Hubby and son had lunch, and daughter and I had breakfast. It was SO good!
Home from day 2 of stoopit work schedule. When I arrived, the break room was absolutely full of donuts, fruit, cookies, cake, ice cream, whipped cream… and about half an hour later, 4 pizzas showed up. Holy crap, what a lot of food!!! But we were fairly busy, so the day moved along. That was good.
I came home, threw together dinner, and just finished loading the dishwasher. Poor **FCD *is totally whipped. Plus he had to buy another gallon of paint - that’s THREE gallons at $250 each. I’m trying to remember why we have a boat… * <sigh> At least he didn’t get the $400 paint. Tomorrow, weather permitting, I’m going to the marina with him to move the stands and paint under them. It should be a quick event. I hope. Plus I have laundry to do.
Puglet is a hoot. Bernie and Scruffy barely tolerate him, but Cleo doesn’t hiss at him as much as yesterday, so there’s that. Poor daughter hardly slept last night till she took him to bed with her.
That’s all I’ve got. I’s tahred. It’s raining. I’ve been cheated out of a weekend.
Ok, frist tihgns frits… Ogbligatroy durknen psot. Hsow tath?
‘Twas a fun, fun, fun day for da bear. I actually did let go and let others do without gettin’ all  they’re usin’ my stuff!
Oh and BooFae I did get my cabana boy for two hours. By popular vote this afternoon, I was awarded two hours of cabana boy duty. I got my choice of any two attendees as cabana boy for one hour each. 'Natch OYKW was one of 'em. What? He was the one that said I couldn’t have a cabana boy so he had to pay! The other one was JDD’s partner because he said he’d make sure I was never without a beerverage in hand for a solid hour. Well, how could one turn that down!
Thus, Da Bear got his cabana boy(s).
The food was woooooooooooonderful! Burgers with bleu cheese crumbles and bacon (BACON! BACON! BACON!), N.O.T. sallit, marinated veggies and ICE CREAM CAKE!!! It was teh nummy!!!
Ok, gotta go do a couple other things and da bear is goin’ beddy bye.
Nitety Nite Y’all!
Hey, doggio, don’t know how I missed your post last night. I sure hope today has been better. Glad the dogs are OK, though.
Very cute new puppy, FCM.
Fun, but long, day. Planted a bunch of containers this morning at the park. They turned out very nice, although there was a bit of trauma as a few plants got mixed up. Also went plant shopping for church with one of my friends who lives near the park.
Was really tired when I got home, but went to Whole Foods and World Market and then bought a fancy new pair of walking shoes. They were on clearance in my size at Famous Footwear and were really comfy. I’ve already gone for a walk in them and can tell that they work completely different muscles in my legs and feet. I suspect that alternating between these and my regular shoes will be the best idea…
Tired and ready for bed, I think…
Hugs.

Doggone, has it been raining! I woke up at 3:30 with bladder urgency (does that sound classy??) and as I tried to fall back to sleep, I could hear the raindrops on the leaves. It gradually got heavier, and near as I can tell, it lasted till just a few minutes ago, so that was a 2+ hour shower. From the looks of the weather radar, it should be done, altho the forecast is for scattered T-storms. Just hope it dries out and holds off enough for us to sand and patch the 6 spots under the stands that are steadying the boat.
I’ve also got to run to WalMart - woohoo! I need doggie kibbles, kitteh kibbles, and my flavored waters. And Jiffy Mix - I have 3 extremely ripe 'nanners that need to be baked into 'nanner bread. Maybe I’ll get some muffin papers and make 'nanner muffins?
I also intend to make a batch of sloppy joes today - part for supper, part for freezer. And I need to do some laundry. And who knows what else the day will hold. Because, you know, my life is ever so exciting…
Happy Sunday!!
Up. At 'em. Lots to do today…
Back later.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. It’s Pentecost Sunday so that means we must wear red to church. Thus, I have made sure red shirts are presentable.
That’s the extent of my excitatement this mornin’.
doggio glad the doggies, you and the apartment are fine if smokey smellin’.
Happy Sunday! We’re getting stuff ready for church tonight: kids are getting recognized for their Bible Drill work, and we’re hunting down purple shirts.
We have breakfasted and run by WalMart. I’ve got sloppy joes simmering, 'nanner muffins baking, and I’ve now got a few minutes to chill. We need to finish the bottom paint on the boat, but it’s still raining - grrrrr. We just need a dry one-hour window - is that too much to ask? **FCD **is sleeping - when he gets up, we’ll see what the weather looks like. But the boat is supposed to go back into the water today, so we have to get the patches painted.
Other than that, just another day in FairyChatParadise…
