Have you all had a fun Sunday? I was out last night and then stayed up until 4.30am playing music, drinking vodka and chatting inanely to 'im indoors.
Today I have been kind of productive - attached my laptop to the home network and plundered the stash of MP3s for my l’il player so I had something good to listen to, then went outside to weed the front border and plant some petunias. It was stupidly hot out there (it’s currently 26 English degrees in the house, so hotter than that outside) but I did remember to put on lots of SPF20 before I ventured out so am not resembling anything unduly bright red and pentecostal at the moment.
After that, I had a yummy salad for lunch, baked some rhubarb and ginger puddings for our Fat Club taster night on Tuesday, did some laundry and generally mooched about. I have just run myself a nice cool bath and I’m going to soak in there until I resemble a prune.
He’s cooking tonight, I have been promised lemon and garlic chicken (5-minute marinade, don’t get all excited) and rice. I am happy with that, as long as I don’t have to cook it. He’s starting a new diet plan tomorrow so I’ll be cooking for myself for the next few weeks, which means I can do all sorts of yummy veggie things because he doesn’t eat veggies apart from onions and peas.
Doggio - sorry to read your news, hope everyone’s ok now!
I had a wonderful time last night celebrating my birthday with my friends. They also gave me beautiful and thoughtful gifts. The love and generosity they display totally humbles and awes me.
Today, we’re just going to chill, I think. It’s another cool rainy day here.
So…what are the rhubarb and ginger puddings like, BooFae? Would we like them? Do we want the recipe?
It’s supposed to hit 85 here today - ick - and be in the mid- to high 80s all week. No thank you. I realize it’s almost Memorial Day, but still…NOT SUMMER!! ::shakes fists at weather gods::
I did a bunch in the garden at church and am going to go procure soil for containers (gotta do that sometime; might as well do it when I’m not about to plant anything).
After that, i’ve got a bunch of computer stuff to do and then I’ll probably go out and put some more plants in the ground. Big fun.
Gotta go find lunch, then it’s off to run errands.
I dodged the bullet on the boat-painting thing. **FCD **went down and did the last 6 patches and he called me a few minutes ago - they were about to put it in the water. I’ve got my second load of clothes in the washer and the first in the dryer. The sun is peeking out occasionally, but more rain is forecast, so we shall see how that goes.
Daughter is snoozing, as is Cosmo. All the upstairs critters are zoned out, too. I think it’s time to assume the knitting position.
Groceries have been bought and put away, lunch has been et. I still need to go get some stir-fry veggies from another store, because my Kroger doesn’t sell bulk snow peas or bulk bean sprouts.
I deheathenated, lunched and then spent the afternoon by the pool. Three friends from church came over after lunch to just hang out a while in the water. Just a nice afternoon.
I am sippin’ upon an Arnold Palmer and comtemplatin’ some dindin.
Busy afternoon. At least 2 inches of rain fell in about an hour’s time; lightning hit out at the cotton gin and freaking out the fire alarm system; then a woman got flash burns when lightning hit her house. If the rain hadn’t caused all this trouble, I could have been mowing instead.
Have done some computer stuff, run lots of errands, am headed out to plant stuff, if I can stand it. It’s very hot out. May I have some of the rain (but not the thunder and lightning) that others of you are getting, please? kthxbai
Effing 87 here today and humid, humid, humid. I hates it, I does.
Tomorrow is gonna be 85. Whoopee. WTF do you wear when it’s 85 and you have to look professional in an office? And it’s hotter than ____ in my library, no matter the time of year (heat gain from all the windows).
AND I have to go to another hospital in the system tomorrow, so I have to look professional etc. <primal scream here>
Dinner was turkey meatballs, noodles Alfredo and green beans–all made in the microwave to keep the kitchen cool. I am not happy. Heads shall roll!
Poor Mr Rebo has to be in Kerrville, west of San Antonio, in the morning. That’s over 250 miles. He went to bed at 6:30 pm with a belly full of shrimp stir-fry. It was the NOM!
I’ll probably be all insomniacal…
I took the dogs for a 15 minute walk - gettin’ my exercise where I can handle it!
