Hit delete, dude
You can delete messages from both your Inbox and Sent Messages folders. Click the checkbox on the right side of the message, then go to the drop-down menu at the bottom right of the page and select Delete. Then hit “Go.”
I like them, and don’t expect them to be subpoenaed any time soon. Other options?
I like them, etc, and want to save them.
Click on the Private Messages link below when it says you last posted. Click “Empty Folder” next to where it says “You have X messages stored, out of 250 allowed.” Click yes where it says “Are you sure?” Do this for your sent message folder, too.
ETA: Damn ninjas!
Copy them to your hard drive and save them, then delete them from the Dope?
Downloading to TXT. I’d go with CSV since I adore CSV (I lurves me my commas), but TXT is cool.
You could also not save your sent messages (if you are doing that) and just keep received messages. Keeping sent is the default, I think. You should free up some space that way.
How do I do x?
Here’s how you do x.
I don’t want to do x.
I, OTOH, have few if any friends, both here on this board and IRL. Upon reading this thread, I begin to realize how lucky I am!
Then why not use CSV? It’s still text, while being more searchable. And you can load it in Excel.
No reason you can’t keep more than one copy, if that’s the deal.
Too bad this can’t be a sequential thread with “Seriously - are some posters just bots?” since they’re in different forums.
