Flurox, aka Fluress. It’s a topical anesthetic too. Good stuff. My husband got to experience it firsthand when he got an eye infection (keratitis), and they dosed him to see how much damage it had done to the surface of his eye.
Oh god. Do I have any sane relatives? One of my cousins is arguing with me about vaccines on Facebook.
I co-wrote a book on the subject, cousin. I sent a copy of it to you. STFU about vaccines containing carcinogens and how we mostly vaccinate because of drug company profits and how we have to keep presuming they’re linked to autism because we just don’t really know or how we just don’t even know if they’re really going cause our kids to turn into little green men with purple spots.
My computer is apparently so badly infected that AVs won’t run, don’t find anything, or bluescreen the computer when they do. Nice way to spend my day. Went to make sure it was clean before doing my taxes. HA!!
Doing this on my iPad while I run yet another AV on it. Oh cool, same point, bluescreen again! Yay!
Really came to lament that a guy I know and care about has been unemployed for three years now. They had a kid right before he lot his job. His wife is apparently moving out and taking the kid. The part that really cheeses me off is that over the years, I have sent him any number of job listings for stuff he is qualified for, and the stupid bastard has ignored and not applied for a single one! I’m not talking (only) lower paying jobs either, but Network Admin stuff he’s done before and claims to want to do. A month ago he told me was working part time stocking shelves at a Target. I send him stuff on jobs at my company that better than half a dozen people I used to work with are doing. Decent if not great pay, great benefits, easy job. Last night, after telling me his wife was leaving, I asked if he had applied yet. Nope, hadn’t even thought about it.
Oh, yeah. That was years ago. It did cause her to give up her desire to be a rhythmic gymnast, which was never in the cards anyways (they knew us by name at that hospital due to both of our general lack of grace).
We have a bay window with a built in bench. The padded top lifts up and there is storage room under it. I don’t know what its called, but I know you folks know what I’m talking about.
The top is not that heavy for a person to lift, but I really would have thought it was too heavy for a cat to lift. Does anyone want to guess who got stuck in there this morning? Flipping idiot cats are at it again!!!
I hate it when the instructions say my 4 pound turkey breast will be cooked in 2 hours 45 minutes. And at the end of that time, it is still pink inside. I knew they lied (past experience), but I sincerely wish they’d stop doing it. Dammit, I’m hungry NOW…
Cookies! White chocolate with dark chocolate chips, nuts and cherries. You only get one, and you might as well just rub it on your butt, because that’s where its going to land. Well, maybe we can have 2, but that’s all.
No idea at all as to how it happened.
My oven didn’t cook stuff at the right times either. So I got an oven thermometer and adjusted my cooking times accordingly.
You are renting, the landlord has no interest in fixing/replacing your stove unless its totally not working. As a homeowner, I had no interest in fixing/replacing when I could do the cheap fix and change my habits.
Belly full of turkey now. Brain full of memories*.
Happy.
Cooking turkey breasts always reminds me of Little Guy. He loved turkey so much I would cook turkey breasts just for him. Ok, for me too, but he probably ate at least half of it. While it lasted, every time I went into the kitchen he’d be at the fridge, howling for some of it.
My grandma is crazy and no one can help. They’ve been trying to adjust her bipolar meds to no avail.
Last weekend, she called both my mom and I crying and saying she wanted to go to the hospital, that she didn’t want to live like this anymore. We picked her up and took her to the nearest hospital with an on-site mental facility (which our local hospital does not have). After hours of waiting in the ER, speaking with the hospital social worker and the county crisis workers, we were told that because she is not a physical threat to herself or others, there is nothing they can do. She had changed her mind about being admitted and we could not force her to stay.
It’s just so frustrating! Anyone who talks to her for more than a minute can tell she’s not right. She has a “plan” to change the world and will talk your ear off about it. She calls local government officials and writes letters to the paper. Tonight, she was walking up and down the hall of her apartment building, knocking on doors so she could let everyone know about “the plan”. But there’s nothing we can do about it. I understand that they have to protect peoples’ rights, but come on, does she have to commit a crime in order to get some help?!
Thanks, Federal government of Canada - now that you have decreed that temps are self-employed, I now have a tax return that is about twice as complicated, and can no longer be filed electronically due to the inexplicable errors that are showing up when I try to do so. I am also paying employment insurance premiums on EI that I can no longer collect - all for absolutely no benefit to me, since I don’t have any expenses to offset my “self-employed” income, and I don’t want to fuck around with any of that bullshit anyway. Two thumbs way up, government! You’ve found a new and inventive way to screw over temporary workers!
Indeed. I pit the anti-vaxxers who are undoubtedly responsible for the outbreak of measles in the southern UK. Selfish bastards forcing people to vaccinate their babies way ahead of schedule to avoid exposure to their stupid infectious precious snowflakes just because they don’t understand the concept of herd immunity.
I pit my fucking alarm clock radio. I set it every night, but it has the habit of turning itself OFF in the middle of the night, so it doesn’t wake me up.
Thankfully, it hasn’t made me late for anything (yet.) But it’s only a matter of time.
I have two alarm clock radios in this bedroom somewhere which probably do work, but I CAN’T FUCKING FIND THEM. Guess I’ll have to spend the whole day today cleaning my room and trying to find them.
Measles is not a disease you want to have. A whole bunch of anti-vaxxers are about to find that out the hard way. Too bad *their *parents vaccinated them so they aren’t at risk for going blind or in a coma.
That’s Andrew “the shithead who lied about the MMR vaccine” Wakefield. Andrew “the guy who paid by anti-vax trial lawyers” Wakefield. Andrew “who patented his own MMR vaccine” Wakefield.
