Surrounded by fools in April? kvetch about it here.

Yes! I can nearly understand that they just can’t bring themselves to sit, but then they must look at their own piss splattered all over the seat, shrug, and walk away. WTF? Have they even noticed that other people don’t do that?!

I’m not a tiny woman. When a group does this to me, I set my shoulder and send the person spinning if they don’t move over. If they do move over, then all is well.

What always baffles me is how surprised they look that I didn’t flatten myself agains the wall to let them pass. *% that!

I love this place

Thanks gals!

I emailed Hershey’s about their commercial for Reese’s mini peanut butter cups. Lettering on the screen says that they are “perfectly popable”. I got back an email saying that they would forward my comments to Marketing for their review.

Well, I bought some mini peanut butter cups and they didn’t pope one bit! I want blood, dammit, or at least some free candy.

That’s what happens when we raise generations of Special Snowflakes - an expectation that the world is going to re-arrange itself to suit them.

Regretsy went inactive back in February, alas.

Sigh. Since I had never flushed a water heater before, I took advantage of an Angie’s List ad for 49 bucks flush and tune up. I figured I could watch, then do it myself next time.

First these knuckleheads showed up 20 minutes early for the window, so when I got home from work they were waiting and peevish. Then they had to use one of my hoses.
Fine, there are two out on the back patio, but the black one is a garden trickle hose, so don’t use that.
They used it. Water all over the laundry room before they changed hoses to the regular one.

After they were finished running the water out, they unhooked the hose, and left. No checking for leaks, no checking of hookups or “Tune up”, left the pilot light unlit, and the temp turned all the way down. Also a huge puddle in the laundry room from the earlier hose attempt.
Damn, being a landlord is already making me a cranky SOB, and the renters haven’t even moved in yet.

Have you tried putting little white yarmulkes on them?

The lawn crew is mowing again. This is the second day in a row. The ground has only been uncovered by snow for maybe a week now, the grass hasn’t had time to grow! The constant droning of the lawn mowers isn’t helping my headache.

The idiot woodpecker hammering against the side of the building isn’t helping either. The hammering is driving the cats nuts, they’re trying to climb the wall to see where the noise is coming from.

I remember reading, an eon ago, that if you keep walking towards them, people walking towards you will often expect you to move out of their way, but the instant you stop, they don’t. Tried it, it worked.

So ever since, if I don’t see a way to avoid people walking towards me, I just stop. And even in places like crowded subway stops, I almost never get jostled as a result.

I must be doing something right then. When I’m coming down the hall, people start ducking into offices…

Got mine 2 years and 6 1/2 months ago, which means I’m 6 1/2 months overdue for getting them off. BTW, I’m age 45.

Dammit people I don’t care if you"crack" the window of you car/truck Do not leave your dogs in the car any time of year. I have the sheriff department on speed dial.

… Seriously? Even in mild weather? I understand calling on hot days because that can kill a dog, but otherwise, a dog in a car is probably better off than most dogs out in the yard.

My dog likes to go for car rides and is perfectly happy to wait in the car while I run errands.

She doesn’t get to go when it’s dangerously hot, but this time of year is perfect.

Why do you hate dogs?

I love dogs, that’s why I don’t like them sitting in a hot car!

Shouldn’t leave them in a car in bitterly cold weather either (gets bloody cold up here at times in the winter). However, I agree with Ferret Herder; I don’t see anything wrong (other than the poor critter getting lonely) with leaving a dog in a car in spring/fall weather.

Aww geez…I knew they had dropped off of Facebook, but I didn’t know the whole site had shut down. Looks like the founder (April) has had some success with other projects though, so that’s good.

Seriously, if you called the police up here about a dog in a car in 40-50 degree weather, they’d probably tell you to go fuck yourself. If they showed up, it would be more likely to be so they could ensure YOU didn’t do anything stupid like smash the windows.

Not really a rant, but this made me sad. Paolo Soleri died today.

I didn’t know him, never even shook his hand, but his vision in the desert was wonderful. I used to live close to Arcosanti and would visit it often. Beautiful place, wonderful bells, great bread. Tobacco use was frowned on, but there always seemed to be a slight skunky scent to the air behind the kilns.

I hope his legacy holds as strong as he was.
