Survive your "24" withdrawl here (SPOILERS)

OK, we have, of course, Knead’s weekly episode thread, but in it’s absence, let’s discuss the bigger/older items here, while we anxiously await for the next episode. Or, let’s just talk about Knead behind his back.

  1. Did Darlene Conner (Paula) survive?

  2. What happened to Evil Dad?

  3. What’s the best nickname we’ve come up with for a character whose name we didn’t know?

  1. No.
  2. Not sure, but I think he’s in the clear, it’s all his daughters doing.
  3. Ex-Skankwifebitchtraitormole! Okay, I just made that up and we do know her name, but it fits you-know-who so well.

firstly, I haven’t really checked the 24 threads, so I might not know what I’m talking about.

  1. No. Didn’t Tony ask George if she was ok and George sorta implied that she died? (And I just checked the FOX site and they specifically said she died…she flatlined actually, which I sorta remember now).

  2. Dunno, but I’d guess he won’t appear in the series again, since the wife is dead and the daughter is locked up somewhere. Maybe in the end, after Kim and Meagan have the dramatic “meet up after the world is saved and find out the other is fine until the enemy pops up out of nowhere and in a last effort kills one of them” scene. but not until the main plot is resolved, if that.

3)Dunno, but I liked calling one anonymous arab terrorist “Akmad Omar Muhammad Shareef Bin-Hussan” (ok I just made it up).

Samn, now I remember Darlene dying, too.

Thinksnow, your #2- Am I missing something? “Evil dad” being the guy who’s killed his wife and the father of Megan’s little blonde plot device.

1)How about a new number one-- Is manipulative first lady (and I use that term loosely) being set up or is our first black president a stupid dupe?

2)It is my fevernt hope that evil dad comes back and kills retardospawn.

3)I liked last years soulpatch. Radiation Man made me chuckle.

I’ve been dealing with the 24 withdrawal by renting the season one discs (I know basic spoilers, like that Nina shoots Teri, but I want the whole picture–I’ve seen the first 5 discs so far).

I guess between the layoff and watching season one, I’m kinda lost. Who is Darlene Conner (Paula)? Evil dad is the guy that Miguel (Rick 2.0) beat up and then they stole his car with the dead body in the trunk, right?

Where else did we leave off after the last one? Marie Warner shoots Reza, right? And Jack is driving around with Kate Warner? And Sayed Ali is going off to a mosque somewhere? And the guys driving the truck with the bomb in it haven’t been heard from in a while? And Kate escaped from the cops, leaving Rick 2.0 hurt in the police car?

Elwood, you got it, basically. Paula worked at CTU. She was responsible for doing something-or-other which was important for the case, and she was injured in the blast on CTU HQ. George got the passcode or something-or-other from her right before she flatlined (and died). Sorry but I’m tired and I forgot what Paula had that was so important. The OP must not’ve realized that she died (it wasn’t really obvious, but it was pretty safe to assume from the implications. Also, FOX said she died on their website, so there isn’t much discussion).

1)I think Prez is stupid dupe and will likely be killed this season

How about: who is the next main character to die, and who do you WISH is the next to die?

I’d say Sayed Ali is the next to die, but I really hope any of the many dumb blondes on the show die a horrible, painful death (and we were so close to seeing that two shows ago, weren’t we?)

Yeah, I forgot Paula died (the actress played Darlene Connor on the sitcom Roseanne, btw). And since she was uploading all the intelligence on the nuke when CTU blew, the FBI (or whoever was receiving it) didn;t get the encryption password, and Paula was the only one who knew it; hence, she must be awaken.

Oh, and as for George, shouldn’t he be “Radioactive Man?” Y’know, to keep in line with the SDMB’s, and Fox’s tradition of Simpson references?

Paula had downloaded all the CTU’s files on the plot to the NSA* but she hadn’t transmitted the encryption key needed to read them. She was critically injured in the bombing, and the medics wanted to evacuate her ASAP. George Mason ordered instead that she be given a stimulant to wake her up; she was then able to tell everyone which computer file contained the code key for the files; alas, denying her treatment and giving her drugs to get her conscious doomed any hope of saving her life, but the critical information on the plot was saved.

*I forget which Presidential advisor weasel ordered this; I think the Prez later dismissed him over it. He ordered the files sent to NSA, but didn’t tell CTU they were about to be bombed–overruling “Ensign Ro”–ostensibly because he didn’t want Jack Bauer’s cover to be blown with the “patriot” group he had infiltrated that planted the bomb, the idea being that Jack was their only line into not just the CTU bombing plot but the much bigger nuclear bombing plot of LA. Given that the head of NSA is apparently dirty, we now have to wonder if there weren’t deeper motives than just ultra-coldblooded hard-assedness.
I think Palmer will get–or may even alread has–the upper hand on Lady McPalmer. He did it before, back in the first season. She’s scheming and manipulative, but he knows her tricks, and I think he’s probably smarter than she is.

MEBuckner - That was Eric Rayburn, the advisor weasel that overruled Ensign Ro and got his butt dismissed by the Prez. I also think we probably haven’t seen the last of him.

thinksnow - On (2), you were thinking of the one we’ve been calling Terrorist Dad.

Okay, this just got my vote for best nickname!

I think we haven’t seen the last of Evil Dad, also – Kim is still in the city, and she has an uncanny knack for running into him at just the wrong times…

Yup, that was my bad.

So: 2) I suspect he’s petty enough (and stupid enough) to want to hurt Kim, so I figure he’ll be turning up again. Figure another few, maybe 6 hours.
