Survivor 05/07/2003

These threads seem to get earlier and earlier, so what the heck? I might as well start one.

I enjoy watching Survivor, but I see from other posters that I am not as “into” it as many people seem to be. Nevertheless, here’s my guess as to how things might happen.

[ul][li]Matt is the greatest physical threat. I think he’s less gullible than he lets on.[/li][li]Rob is a player. He’s been unblelievable successful manipulating people.[/li][li]Butch. “Butch who?” He’s so far under the radar he’s underground![/li][li]Jenna is a self-centred bitch.[/li][li]Heidi is an empty-headed bimbo.[/ul][/li]We’re at the point of the game when the players have to decide who they want to stand next to at the Final Council. They want the most unlikeable person they can get. I think Matt may have been playing up his Skeletor persona to make people uncomfortable enough to want to be beside him at the FC. But I don’t think he’s done it very well. I think the others see him as a psycho instead of someone nasty. That might hurt him. He’ll have to rely on winning immunity challenges if he wants to make it – and I think he can so it.

Rob has been incredibly lucky not to have been booted. Now he’s seen as the biggest weasel in the Amazon. He’d be a great one to stand next to in the Final Two. The others know this and will want to keep him.

Jenna and Heidi are pretty much interchangeable. I think they are both disliked enough for the others to want one of them to be in the F2. But Jenna is the more disliked.

Butch is not much of a physical threat. He would not be a good choice for the F2, but I think they think they can oust him later.

Butch and Matt will want to stand against Rob in the F2, with Jenna as the second choice. Rob will want to stand against Jenna, probably thinking that he will get votes from the jury because he has played the game well. Jenna will want to stand against Rob for the same reason, although she will claim (erroneously) that she has been honest with her alliances. Heidi will also want to stand against Rob.

Previews show sparks between the Cute Girl Alliance. Probably another red herring, but maybe not. I think that Rob will want to vote Heidi off because he wants to stand against Jenna, and to show that he is still “loyal” to Matt and Butch. If Jenna and Heidi are at odds, so much the better.

Butch will be the next target leaving Rob, Jenna and Matt. The others won’t want him in the F2. I don’t remember if the final IC is endurance or a quiz. If it’s endurance, I think Matt will win. He has shown that he can focus his energies and that will be what it takes. Rob’s and Jenna’s votes will cancel out, so it will be up to Matt. If he is smart, he will vote Rob out. Matt and Jenna go to the Final Council.

Jenna was a member of the CGA and I think she thinks she can count on that. But she stabbed Deena in the back and Deena knows it. Christy hates her. There is a lot of ill-will. People thought Matt was a psycho who would kill them as they slept; but he has been pretty honest with the other players. He also got a few points for surrendering his reward to the others and it’s been recently enough that they might remember. Would Rob vote for Matt, who has just voted him out? Or will he vote for Jenna because he wants her? (Surely he knows he would not stand a chance of “hooking up” with her.) Hard to say.

But I think the F2 will be Matt and Jenna, and Matt will walk away with the million.

I think you nailed it, although I’m not sure about the jury vote in a Jenna-Matt F2. Much depends on the final back-stabbings, in the next three TC votes, but here’s how I see it at the moment if it’s a Jenna-Matt final.

Dave: Leaning Jenna, who he clearly has the hots for and thanks to Matt’s defection from the guys’ team.

Deena: Leaning Matt, thanks to Jenna’s blabbermouth that got Deena booted.

Alex: Solid Jenna.

Christy: Solid Matt.

HeiDDi: Solid Jenna

Butch: Solid Matt.

Rob: Leaning Matt, thanks to Jenna’s blow-up this week, but that could change if he perceives Matt as too responsible for his boot.

Wow, this is quite early…

Well, we get a double dosage of Survivor this coming week. Thursday and Sunday’s finale. So set your timers at the appropriate times.

I won’t suggest one bit who the final two will be since I do know that “gambling scandal” spoiler and I don’t want to sound prophetic as if I correctly predicted the final two.

Who would I want in the final two is a different story. I would want any of the three men to be there to win the grand prize. Butch for being a generally likeable guy. Matt for being a real person who is hard working and at times knowledgeable of the game. And Rob for being such a conniving son-of-a-bitch that’ll do anything to win and a comedian too.

For the girls, and yes they are quite interchangeable. They however DO NOT deserve to be Millionairesses. These bitches handled relationships poorly, were so full of themselves and their vanity was through the roof. They say that they are moral and don’t lie, but that’s pure steaming right-out-of-my-ass human shit. They think they’re on a moral high ground and seeing the show, that’s SO not true. I hope they lose their figures and so-called looks after the show so they can’t even cash in on the Playboy spreads and whatever sexual things they can exploit. Plain and simple Heidi is the epitome of the dumb blond, I would say a retard but I think I’d be doing a disservice to the mentally challenged. Jenna, damn, you think your looks make you have to work harder? Please, you even said you’re gonna use that to your advantage you dumb whore. You are conniving too, but saying that you are flawless in morals is obscene. You probably think you’re the Second Coming of Christ himself with your so-called sinless personality.

Who do I want to win it all? Matt for being the most human. With a close second of Butch for being all feel good. If they don’t win Rob is very deserving for all the lies and jokes he told. I hope that the jury isn’t going pull a Rotu bitterness vote and vote against him, if he’s in the final two. They should vote for the most deserving. And that is plainly not any of the two remaining female contestants.

Another thing that must be watched is the reunion show. We will get to see how people react to Rob’s asshole’ish comments. Jenna and Heidi’s vanity, Matt’s psychotic tendancies, and other juicy reunion tidbits.

I’m hoping to see some real drama in the upcoming episodes, some bitter backstabbing, and most of all, a winner.

This was the best season of Survivor to date…

and I’ll end with this. Cinder-fucking-ella? hehe

Good form!

Oops.

Mods: Will you please correct the spelling in the title?

Thanks.

Is Survivor on Wednesday this week, or is my clock FUBAR?

I think Matt goes Thursday night (Butch wins immunity - bush quiz), as Rob makes nice with the girls. Rob wins the first immunity (contestant quiz) on Sunday and ousts Heidi. Jenna wins the standing competition and ousts Butch, leaving her and Rob.

Rob wins.

I think Survivor is on Thursday night, CBS says it’s on Thursday, but don’t really give an exact date number. The finale is going to be on Sunday, which is most likely a two-hour event with another hour for a reunion show.

They gotta get rid of Butch. If he makes it to the final vote, whoever he goes against loses. But there is so much animosity floating around, I think Rob is the only one who can deal with that fact in a rational manner. He’s walked a tightrope so far, and has to appeal to reason (often in short supply with the Boobsie Twins) that he’s the best candidate to go to the end with (who on the jury will vote for him?).

I don’t think Matt is smart enough to be playing the “scary guy” on purpose. It might be time for a Rob/Matt/Butch alliance, although I do agree that Rob wants to take Jenna to the final vote with him. Imagine if Jenna votes off Heide (behind her back) and Heide is faced with a vote for Rob or Jenna in the final show.

Anyway this has been a GREAT show. Several earlier ones were too predictable. Shifting alliances, Mark, that’s what we want!!

Munch: Nice prediction! Very plausible scenario. I see too many variable still to make one of my own.

Johnny: I was going to ask you what the difference was between a “self-centred bitch” and an “empty-headed bimbo” but I guess you answered that with: “Jenna and Heidi are pretty much interchangeable”.

Oops. One more thought.

The best scenario Jenna can hope for in voting off Heidi is that not all the votes get counted when Heidi get’s voted off so that she is left not knowing for sure if Jenna voted for her or not. If it was a Rob/Jenna/Butch/Matt effort, this would be very simple. Wanna bet Jenna isn’t smart enough to figure this out??

What annoyed me to no end was when Rob tried to explain to Jenna why he wanted it to be the two of them at the end.

Rob: Between the two of us, we’ve made the most enemies.
Jenna: You think I’m a bad player?
Rob: Nooo, I’m just saying that you’ve rubbed a lot of people the wrong way and I’ve stabbed a lot of people in the back.
Jenna: Why don’t you think anyone would vote for me?
Rob: I’m not saying that. I’m saying that you’re the person I have the best chance against.
Jenna: Why do you hate me?
Rob: I didn’t say that.
Jenna: Yes you did. You said that no one on the jury would ever vote for me.
Rob: No, I said that… oh screw it. You’re a moron.

Is the bush quiz Thursday then? I think Matt might know a thing or two about living in the jungle. It wouldn’t surprise me at all if he were to win immunity in the quiz.

With Matt out, that would leave Rob, Butch, Jenna and Heidi. As I mentioned earlier, it seems there may be friction between the Boobsie Twins; but I think they will probably still vote as a unit. Maybe not, but will Rob want to take that chance? Better to get rid of Heidi when the odds are in his favour. He knows he can (probably) count on Matt to vote one of the girls off. He knows he can count on Butch. So Rob stands a better chance of voting Heidi out now instead of Matt. (IMO)

Wait, they’re not interchangeable. If I had to choose, it’d be Jenna all the way, baby! Could this be this year’s Ginger/MaryAnn debate or do most guys find Heidi a bit on the repulsive side?

John Mace: I’d take Jenna over Heidi (for looks) because Heidi’s boobs are hideous-looking. But I think Christy is better-looking and a nicer person.

A self-centred bitch is all into herself and is not necessarily a dolt. An empty-headed bimbo is stupid. Of course, each can hae traits of the other. But I didn’t see Jenna stumbling over things like:

Don’t forget my favorite Heidiism:

“I’m stuck between a rock and a hard stone.”

BWHAHAHAHAHA!!!

At least she has her “athleticism and intelligence”.

Hmm, IIRC, don’t we have some sort of Group Ritual coming? The last survirors do something Memorable together, to commemorate thier prowess and, more importantly, to stretch the finale out endlessly ?

Probst: Heidi, Matt, Butch, you will collect momentoes from your campsite to remember your fallen comrades, and use what you’ve gathered to make ritual Amazonean merkins. Don your merkins, then journey downstream on your knees, 8 miles, where you will be made welcome by a recently-found lost tribe of Brazilian accountants, who will entertain you by performing a ceremonial audit. There you will reflect on your journey before entering the final challenge.

It was even dumber than that-

“I’m in a rock and a hard stone.”

That’s even better than Ghandia’s “punch his ass in the eye”.

Can someone please clear it for me as to why Christie hates Jenna (and Heidi) so much?

I mean, she’s got to have figured from the votes last night that two people from her alliance turned on her, and that those two people were Rob (puppet master) and Matt. Shouldn’t she be more against those two who actively stabbed her in the back than Jenna and Heidi who, although tried to get her alliance, never actually made a deal with her?

Not that I’m a fan of ‘Sticks and Twigs’, but I am a fan of logic.

Cataclysm: You’re right, but remember we’re talking about women here…

Because getting kicked off by your fellow contestants is, although surely unpleasant, an essential and expected element of the game. It was not anything personal for Rob and Matt to vote against Christy.

Jenna and Heidi, on the other hand, were complete bitches to Christy in ways that had nothing whatsoever to do with the play of the game. Their shameful comments and behavior were purely personal, and Christy is right to take it personally.
