Survivor 10/03

I’m putting this in a spioler because not everyone has seen Survivor yet.
The Robb chocking Clay thing was a little bit of a letdown, but it was pretty funny the way Jeff had to keep talking to them like they were 3 year olds.

Ghandia is really a piece of crap IMO, Ted apologized, she said OK, then she just started trashing him. I hope she’s gone soon.

It was pretty funny when Brian was talking to the Red Berets and they couldn’t really understand him.

I’m overjoyed that Jed is gone, he was really irritating. And very lazy. Boy, did he looked pissed.
Not sure what to make of the Ghandia-Ted thing. My initial reaction is to lay blame on both of them. Ghandia for sending improper signals (hello, hand on inner thigh!), Ted for “grinding,” Ghandia for not just telling him to fuck off, Ted for the lame excuse, Ghandia for being a drama queen, Ted for the lame explanation to the other contestants. Too bad they didn’t have the incident on camera–though I actually bet they did.

Jed, we hardly knew ye. Mostly because you were so lame. Knobb is definitely the next to go on Soup Guy, since nobody else bothered to let him in on the plot against Jed. And if there was any question before, Knobb is definitely the stoopidest Survivor ever.

Another disappointing episode in my opinion.

Ghandia & Robb sicken me.

Mark Burnett needs to start giving these people some damn rations - they’re too weak to do anything interesting.

Yawn.

Brian looks like Harry Hamlin.

It’s not surprising Rob was so upbeat at the Tribal Council. Jake and Ken had convinced him that three was bigger than five and he thought his group was going to win the vote.

The Soup Guys are playing a dangerous game. Sure it’s fun to throw challenges and vote off the people they don’t like. But the better long term strategy is to ensure a tribal majority at the merger.

Assuming Ghandia isn’t just freaking out, she’s also taking a risk. She’s attempting to manipulate opinion against Ted (“I may have put things in a bad light” and “I told them everything except that he apologized”) but if Ted can convince the others that he’s not at fault, the backlash will ruin Ghandia.

Not to belittle what happened to Gandhi, but please. They talked it over, he apoligized. Then she blabs it to everyone, BUT THE PART WHERE HE APOLIGIZED. Don’t you think that peice of info probably shouldn’t have been left out??

And what was the screaming and the punching of the tree? Man, she’s losing it. Though Grinder Ted isn’t so innocent in my book either. Too bad they can’t boot the both of them and bring someone else back. At least Teddy Grinder can help with the challenges, he knocked a few of them into the middle of next week.

Robb and Titty Girl, is their IQ together even my shoe size?? Didja see Robb checking the reflection of his scarf & hair in his sunglasses?

Better episode than last week, but what isn’t. The clips from last week about this one made me think it would be better, a little misleading.

Good. She’s ruining Survivor.

I laughed when the dip-shits lost the fishing net.

Was it too much trouble to do a little research on how to cast friggin’ fishing nets BEFORE they came on the island?

Yeah, the lack of fishing skills is inexcusable. If I’m going on Survivor, I’m spending a week on the nearest river with the guys from the local bait shops, and then I’m spending a week on the ocean with the saltwater versions of the guys at the bait shops.

Of course I’m making assumptions based on what CBS is showing us, but clearly Ghandia couldn’t be more full of crap if she was a porta-potty at the Great American Cheese Festival. Brondicon said that she loves the drama - truer words have never been spoken. She seems like the type who almost wants bad things to happen to her just so she can be the victim.

Also, correct me if I’m wrong but didn’t she also omit the part where she said(to Ted)that she was raped in college? If she told Helen or anyone else that part I missed it.

Nobody on the show is innocent one way or the other. I actually found Ted’s explanation plausible; when I was in the service there were a few times when I thought my wife was sleeping next to me and it turned out to be a bedroll. People can and have done very strange things while fast asleep.
Overall I feel Ghandia is being very disingenuous and devisive to her tribe. You would think after her MAJOR screw-up in the first immunity challenge, and then being lucky enough to NOT be voted out, she would want to fly under the radar.
If she is genuinely upset because of her rape experience, I feel bad for her, but her little tantrum tells me that perhaps she has some serious persecution complex issues and therefore has no business being on such a psychologically trying show such as Survivor.

Chris W

Oh, she digs the drama. But Ted’s explanation was crap, and badly delivered at that (at least the one in front of the other contestants). Nevertheless, Ghandia’s tantrum was ridiculous. Even assuming everything she said about Ted was true, the offense stops quite short of anything more than rude and mistaken. Ted’s got a lot to do to redeem himself, but Ghandia is history if there’s no shakeup next week and Chewing Gum loses immunity.

Has either Ghandia or Ted received a vote yet? I can see their next Tribal council vote splitting 3/3. Who loses the tie-breaker?

-Myron

I’m pretty sure Ghandia got a vote from the pastor in the first episode. That might be the breaker if there is a tie but last season they didn’t rely on previous votes to break ties.

Ghandia is crazy but it’s fascinating watching her self-destruct on national television is harsh environments. Her downward spiral continues next week too!!

The person I can’t stand is Shii Ann. She is pompous and annoying and just plain bugs.

What I was referring to was the one where he was in front of the group, and Gandhi asked him about the biting, running his hands thru her hair, etc. He looked very guilty to me when he denied that. I think that’s what minty green was referring to too. Should be interesting to see who gets booted next from that group, I bet it’s Gandhi.

To my way of thinking, Ted is not entirely innocent, but Ghandia is definatly a big trouble maker. Ted did apologize, Ghandia accepted the apology. Even if she didn’t feel comfortable with him, it’s not a big deal, just don’t hang out near him.

I think that she realizes that she’s the next target and so she’s trying to turn the rest of the tribe against Ted. Helen is on her side, but I’m not so sure about Jan.

Continuing the Ghandia unintentional comedy meter:

If this keeps up she may deserve her own thread. Heck, I can’t stand her but I kind of want her staying around just for the giggles.

From last night:

 1. Punching the log. She had some serious shadowboxing moves going on. Not only was she punching a hard painful object, but she was throwing combinations. It’s like I was watching Apollo Creed.

 2. During the reward challenge, Ted is crouched on all 4’s waiting to obliterate an opponent. To fire up the team, Ghandia starts barking.

 3. Quote of the week, in regard to Ted’s denial: “I’m gonna punch his ass in the eye.” That’s either one heck of a roundhouse or some seriously screwed up anatomy.

Personally, I wished we could have seen what those two Red Berets had to say about their experience after they got back to base.

“And then the crazy one with the big breasts started punching a tree.”
“Why would anyone punch a tree?”
“Who knows? Americans are nuts.”

Ghandia is this year’s “evil” contestant. Way to “forget” the applogy you accepted and start scheming. I hope you get the boot prior to the jury. Robb was working hard for it, but Ghandia takes the prize.

Actually- she thinks by making herself the victim she will be safe from the fact she is a lazy, untruthful, challenge losing deteriment to the team. Seems to have worked on two of them. But fooling granny does not seem to be too hard.

The reward challenge was a bit bogus. Some of those calls were pretty close- amazing how ALL of them went for the team which really needed the win. Survivor cooking the challenges a bit to protect a team?

Spoiler things:

minty green- I didn’t want to ruin the reward challenge so I erred on the side of caution.

ABT is full of crap- no sense posting them anymore IMHO. 0-2.

Stephanie-- you are next.

I suspect that by now (i.e., Survivor 5) the contestants are probably expecting a switch. Of course, it might not happen this time–who knows–but Shii-Ann could argue that it’s better to get rid of Jed and Robb now just in case the switch puts those stronger guys on the other team, or just in case the switch brings someone friendly to an alliance with Jed-n-Robb over to her side (thus sealing her fate), or perhaps just to make sure that they don’t make it to the merger and/or jury. This last one might also be termed the “bite of your nose to spite your face” strategy.

Man, I coulda gone w/o those blister shots. Ouch!

Knobb and Jed. What a team. Can anyone think of a job they would entrust to that braintrust?

WTF is Fat Albert doing spooning another woman 2 weeks after his wife gave birth? In fact, WTF is he doing half a world away from his family.

He fucked up, no doubt, but I thought he readily acknowledged that and apologized - and she accepted that apology. Her subsequent behavior had no excuse. Clay cracked me up. “My 2-year old did that once, and I cracked it in the ass and sent it to bed.”

What would make to soupbones so aggressive in the reward challenge, when they were so far ahead? What idiots!

It would be a rare occasion that it would be good to intentionally throw immunity. Last night, pre-swap/merge, definitely a bad
idea.

Tho I’ve written this much, I really didn’t care for last night’s ep. 2 snoozers in a row. And I really couldn’t care less about anyone on the show. Am I finally getting Survivor sated?
