[Ted] I don’t know, doesn twine float? [/Ted]

What a tool! I think Helen should have killed him on the spot.

God knows he’d make about two weeks worth of lunches. He’d be more useful as food than as teammate anyway…

It’s possible that they recreated the boat-tying-up should after the fact. It’s no secret that they do that. After all, Ted seemed to be justifying himself at the time, double-checking that the knot was tight. He could’ve been trying to make his idiocy look as benign as possible.

How would they have recreated the boat tying up? After they lost it, did the cameraman say, “Oh, here’s a piece of rope. Can you show us exactly how you tied it up?” C’mon.

The only things we know for sure that they have “recreated” have been distance shots for challenges.

My thought was that the cameraman zoomed in because he noticed that it was a foolish way to “secure” the boat. So he got the shot thinking “Let’s see what happens.” The camera crew wouldn’t have to tell the tribe members “Hey, we think your boat is gonna float away when the tide comes in.” Even if that is exactly what they were expecting to happen.

Don’t forget that the camera follows their every move. They may zoom in every time somebody does something, but unless it actually turns out to be of any importance, it ends up on the cutting room floor. But when it DOES turn out to be important, they’re golden.

Smeg - thanks for the observation. That was one of my faves as well. Nothing personal, tho!
