Watching the episode now, so I’ll spoiler this but
If Rupert gets voted off before Jon, then I officially hate Survivor. I know he seems overbearing, but I haven’t seen anyone who works as hard as he does, or who deserves it more.

I can’t believe those idiots didn’t pile Rupert up with coconuts at the beginning! Preventing his immunity was entirely in the other players’ hands, and they muffed it.
Honesty has no place in this game, it seems. Jon is killing himself. Even if he makes it to the almost end, nobody is going to vote for him. So much less footage of him, so much easier on the psyche.
Lil is too naive to play this game. It doesn’t look like the RCS alliance is so R-centric now, does it?
I’ve got to wonder how serious Krista and Sandra are about getting rid of Rupert…the obvious strategy would have been to try to get him out of the IC from the beginning yet they didn’t.
Oh, and don’t those Ex-Morgans see the correlation between starving/sitting on your ass as opposed to working/having all that food to eat.
Rupert was right. He should just hand them unclean, ungutted fish. Or nothing at all. He wouldn’t do that, I don’t think. Overbearing and all, he’s basically a decent person who couldn’t withhold food to a person who needed it. At least that how he seems to me.
Correct. Unless the honesty helps advance you in the game. Honesty, dishonesty, whatever works.
So it looks like we’ve got the formation of a brand new alliance next week. Who was it we saw doing the “Kill Hagrid now!” huddle? I definitely saw Burton, Lil, Tijuana, and Darrah. Was Jon in there too? If so, there’s no saving Rupe next week (except for immunity).
Oh the irony, if Christa and Sandra were just looking for an opportunity to boot Rupert, but didn’t bother to tell anybody and got booted for their perceived loyalty to him!
Either Burnett’s company is deliberately misleading the viewers by suggesting that everyone wants to vote out Rupert, or these are just a bunch of really stupid people who are so averse to taking any risk whatsoever that they will be seen as striking at him first (in the event he doesn’t end up losing the immunity challenge, and face retribution). Nitwits.
Why Ryan, though? Because he was an easy target, I guess. It’s going to get interesting next week, and even more so the weeks after that, depending on how strong the RCS alliance remains, and the Morgan TD thing holds. I guess there’s a JLB alliance, too, kind of like an alliance of thieves, huh?
Did anyone else catch this?
During the very first commercial break, right after the opening credits, there was a logo shot (you know-- the still image of the logo, when they say something like, "Survivor is brought to you by . . . ")
The logo said, “Survivor: Panama.”
Was this a glitch? Could this be the next show? I haven’t heard where the next Survivor is set to be filmed.
Ask and ye shall be told (but in a spoiler box).
S8 is filming right this very second in the Pearl Islands. Yes, again in the Pearl Islands. This time, the cast consists entirely of past Survivor contestants. If you really want to know who the participants are, head over to survivornews.net.
good evening friends,
i am not sure where i read this, but the all star version is being filmed now, and i am pretty sure they are using teh panama site as well
This is getting boring. They should just ask Rupert at the beginning of each show “Who should be voted off” and save us all 57 minutes.
The anti-Rupert coalition obviously wasn’t that serious since they didn’t even bother to try to knock him out of the IC.
That would suck to be in Ryan’s shoes. He had to know at the IC that his time was up and there’s nothing he could do about it.
At this point, I woudl take Jon as far as I could. No one would vote for him at the final.
Also, I love how booted people say “Just remember, I’m in the final jury”. Yes, and you will be voting for one of the finalists to win $1 million. It’s not like you vote to give it to charity or something.
Did Christa get even one question right in the IC? Half of her wrong answers just had to be intentional.
“It’s not a peninsula, it’s an isthmus.” Well, blow me down.
Just finished the episode. 8-1 for Ryan. What a limp ending after all the ‘scheming’ the editors emphasized.
I couldn’t believe Christa answered “pieces of eight” not being in a treasure chest when the very first question identified pieces of eight as being gold coins. I hope she was throwing the challenge.
Christa may have decided it’s a good strategy to act dumber than she really is. When she went to raid the Morgan camp, she appeared to be acting stupid when they questioned her. And this week’s immunity challenge was an obvious trap. By dropping coconuts you revealed who you were targeting. The smartest move was to act stupid and let other players eliminate the competition. On the other hand, bitching about other players and potential jury members to their face was stupid. Going to Sandra about betraying Rupert may or may not be stupid depending on what happens.
I think this week’s immunity challenge was one of the most amazing things I’ve ever seen on the show. All eight of his competitors see Rupert as their biggest threat and want to vote him off. But despite the overwhelming numbers against him, he survives because everyone else was too afraid to openly move against him. Rupert has gotten everyone else so whipped it’s mind boggling.
Now let’s see if I’ve got it all straight:
Rupert is allied with Christa and Sandra. And to a lesser extent with Burton, Jon, and Lill.
Christa and Sandra are considering forming an alliance with Darrah, Tijuana, and maybe Lill to vote off Rupert, Burton, and the other men.
Ryan, Darrah, and Tijuana have a semi-alliance based on their old tribal membership. Ryan was trying to convince Burton to ally with them and bring in Lill. But in the end, Darrah and Tijuan turned on Ryan when everyone else did.
Burton and Lill have an alliance based on being the two outcasts. Burton has told Lill to play up to Christa.
Burton and Jon are working on an alliance based on defeating the Rupert, Christa, Sandra alliance. At this point, I think Burton has formed alliances with every player left in the game. This is going to be tricky.
Jon is trying to convince Rupert that Burton is loyal to him and tried to convince Christa that Ryan should be voted off instead of Burton.
Did I miss anything?

Good episode, but ultimately what we all predicted last week-- Ryan O goes.
The is a huge win for Rupert, since there were multiple schemes to oust him and he got ZERO votes. But he’s got a big bullseye on his back, and he has to keep winning ICs. I have termendous respect for the guy, they way he just aces the challenges.
But I have to agree wtih Minty. Jon is so annoying, that people will want him to be with them on the final 2. Too bad. I actually don’t want to see him voted off, I want to see him shot.
Nah, I thought the same at first, but it makes sense. Remember, while everyone wants to get rid of Rupert, they haven’t all discussed it together, so each anti-Rupert faction assumes that everyone else wants the big guy to stay. Plus, knowing Rupert’s temper when he’s crossed, they know that it would be dangerous to publicly go against them unless they could know with 100% certainty that they would be rid of him. I think it was smart because I agree, if you target Rupe, you’d better be damn sure he’s a goner or he’ll have your head. Hell, even if they could’ve voted him off, they would’ve faced hell back at camp before tribal council. Remember when Burton asked Jon if they should tell Rupe he was gone or sneak behind his back? Jon said to do it behind his back because he was afraid of Rupe’s reaction.
I was heartbroken to hear Christa and Sandra plotting against Rupe. That they did it all alone in the water makes obvious that they meant it. I know it’s a game and they have every right to try to win, but I wish for at least now they kept some loyalty to Rupert. Nothing would please me more than for Rupe to realize how they feel, win every remaining immunity challenge and fish only for himself while the other ingrates eat shit.
Even after that, I still love Christa, though. What a cutie! Loved the face she made at the camera when casting her vote for Ryan. She always does something funny when she votes, but my favorite was when she whispered loudly (when voting Trish out) “You betrayed the tribe! You have no idea how to play this game!”
I’ve gotta say, I’m amazed at how Rupertmania has taken over. Even people I work with who usually don’t watch Survivor are hooked because of him. I wouldn’t be surprised it he got endorsement deals out of this since in addition to being the most popular “character” on one of TV’s hottest shows, he also has good values and would make a great spokesperson for any company.
Yeah, I hear about Rupert everywhere (Even my sis’s school talked about him on their daily school TV show). I think the guy is very deserving of every kind word spoken about him too, he’s by far my favorite Survivor participant ever.
The fact that everybody voted for Ryan, including his former teammates, makes me think the women’s alliance is the coming thing. Jon and Burton wanted to vote for Christa if they couldn’t get Rupert. Clearly a good strategy, but a no-go if Lil, Darrah, and Tijuana won’t play. Perhaps because they now have an alliance with Christa and Sandra?
There are now five women and three men left (if you count Jon as a man ) The boys better watch out. This just might be the first all-female final four in Survivor history. That’d be kinda cool.
But then, I’m usually wrong about these things.
