Survivor 11/16/11

Best editing of the season:
Ozzy is coming out of the surf with fish, climbing trees for coconuts and eating well. Cut to …
The tribe complains about starving, can’t catch fish with a net and are to lazy to go get more coconuts.

I think I’ve learned everything there is to know about Survivor editting, because while they were showing Ozzy, my first thought was “Now they’re gonna show how everyone else is doing without him…”

This is the first season I’ve skipped.

Is it a good season?

Worth catching up via cbs.com/hulu or whoever else might have the episodes?

Have you been watching the stuff like whale shots and softly-lit hermit crabs and muttering to yourself “Something for the hi-def people…”?

Much as I hate to say it, not really. It’s another Redemption Island, with the same problems the last one had, compounded by a really decisive pagonging. It MAY get interesting now that the majority tribe has to start eating itself. I don’t really know, though.

I think that there are more good Survivor players in this season than in every non-All-Star cast since Tocantins.

I disagree. While it’s not the best season, I’ve been glad I’m watching. I also thought that RI actually has been utilized much better this season, actually factoring into “plot” points. Granted, the end-result may not have changed much, but it’s been a far more interesting dynamic than last season. I’ve noticed there seems to be far less bitching about it this season.

I watched his touts from the most recent episode. Did you notice that the last buff was awarded to a user called “Rockle”? I was wondering if that was the SDMB’s Rockle

My husband is half fish and can free dive very easily. He stays down for a looong time and then just glides up effortlessly. However, he suffers from hellacious headaches afterwards because his sinuses don’t appreciate it. Maybe he rises to quickly. I noticed Ozzie was coming up very slowly.

Me? In Hawaii, I freaked out when water got into my snorkel, and I was still on the surface! I finally realized that all I had to do was lift my head up (duh) and breathe. And watching that rocking surf where Ozzie was diving made me want to hurl.

Yup, my ancestors were landlubbers.
