I think Dom, Kellyn, Donathan, Wendell and Michael are all strong players who have a shot.
Des. Yawn.
I like the games on Ghost Island and the fact that there’s a bite if you pick the wrong thing. I think that they should offer up potential advantages on a routine basis to everyone.
I’m mystified why more women don’t go looking for HIIs. It always seems to be the men who are motivated to go digging around.
Women must be busy preparing for Immunity Challenges, they have won all three this season, and all but one last season in HHH. Cole was the only guy last season that won a IC*
I don’t these challenges have a bias against the guys, but women certainly have been dominant in IC’s over the last two seasons.
- not counting the Final Four Fire Making Challenge which Ben beat Devin.
I am of two minds regarding Laurel ratting out Des to Dom. On the one hand, Desiree’s plan had a good chance of working had she kept her mouth shut. On the other hand, nobody wins the million dollars by just going along with someone else’s plan. And trying to blow up the Naviti alliance was an idea with some merit.
Problem is, all she succeeded in doing was turning everybody against Des, and the remaining Naviti may be more united than ever.
So all the Malolos survived, but I can’t decide whether they’re better or worse off than they were before. Or neither.
Finally got around to seeing this week’s ep. Bland challenges (boy am I tired of ‘two teams do an obstacle course then solve a puzzle’ especially once we hit the individual stage, and I’d like to see stuff for immunity that isn’t just a combo balance/endurance test) but saved by the interesting alliance shenanigans. Poor Des, tried to make her move but made it in the wrong way. Instead of trying to go so far out of her way to lie and cover her tracks I wonder if she would’ve done better by figuring out why Laurel ratted her out and brought the Dom/Wendell/Laurel alliance to light… spur everyone into finally going after them.
I do think Laurel made a bad decision in ratting out Des. I don’t see how she’ll be seen as anything but a tag-along if she ends up in a final with Wendell, and if she does end up successfully betraying Dom/Wendell I don’t see her having enough other allies to still survive to the final.
Was discussing this on reddit last week and one theory is that the women usually end up doing more tasks in-camp (cooking, cleaning) while the men are doing the tasks that let them leave and look for stuff (fishing, gathering firewood).
I rewatched the episode last night. Saw some editing hijinx. After the reward challenge, and just before Michael and Donathan went searching for a hidden immunity idol, the Naviti 7 (including Angela) were having a pow-wow, presumably discussing the upcoming vote
A few minutes later, the castaways are at the Immunity Challenge and Angela is spotlighted as coming back from Ghost Island.
Not really a big deal in the whole scheme of things.
Kellen must be embarrassed as she watches at home and sees how wrong she has been the past couple weeks.
How about Jenna? She blew it big time.
She seems like a very unpleasant person.
Man I loved tonight’s episode. Great twist.

Yeah, she is a nasty piece of work.
Boy, the two temporary tribes sure turned into the ‘haves’ and ‘have-nots’ when it came to interesting characters, eh? I don’t see anyone in the first TC winning the game, and I say that as someone who at least appreciates Angela and Chelsea for being good at challenges and seeming like they’re playing the game. But even with an idol play that TC was boring.
The second one was a lot better. Really curious to know what Dom/Wendell’s convo was about - I actually thought for a second they might cut bait on Kellyn because of how paranoid she’s getting. She must be terrible at poker. Laurel’s really impressing me with how well she’s hiding her connection to the power couple, but long-term I can’t see that helping her win.
More convinced than ever that either Dom or Wendell is doing to win. It’ll be interesting to see if they end up turning on each other (typical final-4 sacrifice?) or if they both make it (along with Laurel, likely). Actually, I can easily see a Dom/Wendell/Laurel/Donathan final-4 with the storyline being Laurel trying to decide between her alliance with Wendell or Donathan, choosing Wendell, then being frustrated when no one respects her game at FTC.
I think the producers (and the viewers) were really unlucky in how the temporary tribes shook out. Not only with 3-2 Naviti majorities in both, but the rock solid threesome of Dominic/Wendell/Kellyn being together. I could absolutely picture one of the ‘lesser’ Navitis deciding to join with whatever Malolos they were dealt to break up the power trio, but there was no real advantage for Sebastian/Angela/What’sherface to go after one of the other outsiders and then face the probable wrath of the Inner Circle.
Not that I really care who wins but I’m really pissed at Jenna for being stupid and lazy. Donathan practically handed her Sebastian being voted out and she blew it. Ugh.
I’m putting my money on Dom winning. Wendell is good but trusts Dom too much. I think Dom will turn first and give Wendell the ax.
Also hoping Kellen is looking back at how wrong she has been. I was rooting for her early but her lack of awareness has gotten really annoying.
Bad break for Michael, all the serious players, except Donathan, ended up on one tribe and all the goats (again, except Donathan) ended up on the second tribe. I bet Michael comes back for another season, he’s a good player. Right now, Dom seems to be the favorite with Sea Bass being the goat everyone brings along. Wendell is no slouch though, he might make a move and take out Dom.
Dominic certainly seems like the frontrunner, which is fine by me. I like Wendell a lot too, but he may be too much of a nice guy to win.
Speaking of nice guys, I agree that Michael will probably return in another season. He was a decent player who had some of the worst luck on Survivor, ever, and I’m sure everyone would like to see him get a second chance.
I also like Laurel, although she needs to start making moves if she wants to make it to the end with a decent resume.
The rest, except maybe Donathan, are completely expendable as far as I’m concerned.
i like Donathan and i’d like him to stay, but I am not sure if I want him to win, since he really hasn’t done anything fabu yet.
I would be 100% fine with Dom or Wendell winning it. They’re playing hard and earning it, in my view. If I was on the jury either one of them would be get my vote. If they were both in the final, it would be a hard call. It would really come down to the answers to their questions.
I agree and I’d like to see Laurel make it to the final also. Kellyn needs to go as far as I’m concerned, I’ve never been a fan and I was really hoping last night was going to be a surprise for her.
+1 for hoping (and expecting) Michael to play again.
