Survivor 37: David vs. Goliath Premieres Tonight

At least one Goliath is already not Goliath-strong – Angelina. (Though she might jump back with them now because she tends to bounce around as necessary.)

She was going to have to stab Christian in the back at SOME point in order to win the game. She just did it too early.

Calling her a “stupid, stupid girl” is simply wrong.

Isn’t he your boss, though? The way he said it wasn’t like “I don’t agree with that take”, which happens all the time. He said something like he was “ruling it invalid” or “out of bounds”, something like that. Sounded like he was declaring it officially not eligible for consideration on one of his podcasts.

I’m not saying you didn’t independently hold that position on your own. I’m just wondering if you really had an option to say anything different, even if you did think the take was worthy of consideration.

Huh, neat. I have used multiquote on other message boards, but I never noticed this one had that feature. I just copy and paste the quotes in a note and then copy that back to the board at the end (this also prevents losing posts due to Internet glitches). My question would be: how do you know when you’re at the last post you want to quote? That’s easy enough if it’s the last one posted; but what if you hit the multiquote button further up the page, but then don’t encounter any more posts you want to quote?

Well, she sure seemed to be annoyed and angry with him, even tho she couched it as a “big move”.

If you find you don’t want another quote, and you’ve already clicked the last multi-quote button, click the Quote button.

Thanks!

Whether or not you agree that Gabby WAS jealous, it certainly appears that it was edited to make her appear jealous. Whenever the GF was on screen, they kept cutting back to Gabby’s peeved reaction.

And I think it’s unrealistic to expect that, assuming Gabby is straight (it would appear Christian is, or at least not 100% gay) that they would get so close, hold each other, Gabby would cry on Christian’s shoulder, etc., without feelings getting at all complicated. People tend to insist on a very rigid honor-based idea of human psychology: that if Gabby is an honorable person and knows Christian is in a relationship, she would not develop non-platonic feelings for him, not even deep down. I don’t believe that’s how human psychology works.

FWIW, in her day after being voted out interview, Gabby categorically statedd jealousy had nothing to do with it, and she knew Christian had a girlfriend:

It’s worth very little. Only a crazy person would say anything different in her position, regardless of her internal thoughts. I have plenty of things I think but would never speak a word about to anyone—and so do most people, I expect.

Eh, when an adult makes a perfectly reasonable statement, I tend to believe them, rather than desperately holding onto the opinion I formed from seeing them on an edited TV for a few minutes.

The fact that we as an audience are just now finding out about Christian’s girlfriend shows that it was edited to make Gabby look jealous.

But that’s not primarily where the opinion comes from. It comes from a lifetime of experience, coupled with a lot of reading about psychology and sexuality. Assuming they didn’t somehow fake the footage of their physical closeness, I don’t believe Gabby is some kind of extreme monklike person who would not develop complicated feelings she cannot outwardly express.

ETA: As for “desperately holding onto the opinion I formed”, this implies that I started with an opinion, then the opinion took a blow from Gabby’s statements, but I stubbornly clung to it anyhow. Not so. I was well aware from the jump that she could never say anything different from what she said—unless, as I said, she is a crazy person, and she does not appear to be that.

OMG, can they please vote Angelina out so we can stop hearing her go on and on about the damn rice?!? Jesus. :smack:

New Survivor Drinking Game!

Looking forward to Christian’s Ponderosa interview. A class act to the end.

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!

I came here to, literally, post the same thing. I’m so sad. :frowning:

Yeah, I’m sorry to see him go, too. Although he’s almost a lock for Fan Favorite, so he’ll probably come out of it with something (and a promise for return).

That was a fairly unclimatic departure for a guy I thought was getting the hero edit. Mike White was all over the place this episode. I think Davie, Nick and Kara are the biggest threats. If I were Angelina, I’d bring up that rice negotiation every once in a while.

If they HADN’T taken advantage of Christian not having II or a HI, we’d have had to say everyone else in the game was an idiot.

I’m wondering if the three Goliath women will form a practical alliance? As in, I don’t think any of them extremely likes the other two, but they should also realize that none of them have much of a chance of winning if Nick or Davie makes it to the end. Mike, too, maybe, though it could be a jury would be less ready to vote a million dollars to someone who is already rich enough, older/well-established, and likely has no dependents he needs to take care of.

I think Christian doomed himself when he went after a fellow David too soon.
