I can’t believe y’all aren’t loving the hell out of this season. What a bagful of ADD kittens these guys are. If everyone is in an alliance with everyone – except Erinn, who is thus either the next evictee or the ultimate swing vote – are there any alliances?
Coach – what a maroon. You just have to ride with it, people – give yourself over to the inanity/insanity that is Coach, and it breaks through the wall of surrealism to become great entertainment.
And, yeah, “I have” – what a great freakin’ moment.
I just wanted the Coach/Tyson blindside so badly that it was disappointing. I don’t know that I wouldn’t have burst out laughing at his ridiculous story about the cannibals.
No, Brendon’s the dragon. Steven’s the wizard, Coach is the dragonslayer, J.T.'s the barbarian, etc. Apparently Coach has cast them all in roles in his own internal reality. Since Steven is kinda scrawny and wears glasses, he can’t really qualify for any of the combat classes, so he’s gotta be a wizard or a thief.
I also liked Coach’s answer to the yoga he was doing in the river - “It’s called Chang Won. But don’t try googling it - it’s only passed down by Tibetan monks.” You’ve got to wonder what his former team and employers are doing while watching this - probably rolling on the floor in laughter. Though Brendon’s response to his Amazon story was funny too - “How much does it cost to get a military helicopter to drop you off like that?”
I’m not getting the Steven, Taj, & J.T. hate here - they had 2 different offers from members of the other tribe, each of which would protect them. They picked the one that they thought benefited them the most. Keeping both offers in play right up until TC is just good business.
I thought he said 'Chong Ram". Maybe he couldn’t remember ‘Qi Gong’, thought it was ‘Chong Ram’ and tried to google it, couldn’t find it, and the explanation just came to him mystically.
I was emotionally invested in the Exile Alliance. Plus, I can’t see aligning with Coach and Tyson (or Coach or Tyson) as smart because, frankly, I hate both of their guts to the point that I wouldn’t piss on them if they were on fire. Unless I pissed gasoline. Then I probably would.
I despise them both. I haven’t had this much antipathy toward a Survivor constestant EVER, not even Johnny Fairplay. Not even Corinne the C*nt. I hate these two with a passion that almost scares me. And the stupid editors led me right along the garden path last night, so when the votes were actually counted, I felt like I’d been punched in the face.
This has really become my least favorite Survivor season.
I turned off the show as soon as the votes were read, swearing that I would not watch another minute of this season. Sadly, I’m sure that my willpower will dissolve by the time next week come around. I might watch it muted from now on just so that I don’t have to hear Coach’s stories anymore or him talk about how great he is.
I am very disappointed to see Brendan go home, I was hoping for Coach to be axed.
But, then again, we have at least one more week of Coach-isms to look forward to. He has got to be the biggest tool ever on Survivor. He has now been dubbed “Extreme Coach Douche” in our house. He is truly pathological.
So for the previews next week, they show Sierra crying and Coach being mean to her. What purpose does that serve? She is on the jury, you need her vote if you are final two. Here is where you separate the players on a power trip (Coach, Tyson) and players who can actually play the game. Sierra may not be anyones prize player, but she did better than Coach in the Immunity Challenges so far. Sierra is not a bad person, she hasn’t been edited to seem like an ass at all, but Coach is gunning for her and seems poised to humiliate her.
Even in past seasons when there have been other blindsides and voting people off, it doesn’t seem that any player has set out to humiliate someone like Coach Douche has with Sierra. I do hope that the others (Taj, Steven, JT, Erinn) see Coach and Tyson’s treatment of Sierra and use that as an impetus to toss them for it.
Brendan’s point about JT in the final two does seem accurate. I don’t think anyone will win against him.
The only way I can see this game changing is if Coach and Tyson use “Sierra is out” as a smokescreen and oust JT while his guard is down. That would actually garner some respect for those two tools in my mind.
I’ll admit, for me Coach is a trainwreck that I just have to gawk at. I mean, really. National Geographic just called him up because they heard he was going rafting to see if they could go along? Pair this episode with last week’s first few “meditating” scenes with the lightning… I can’t wait to hear what pours out of his mouth next week.
That being said, I’m not sure who else I’m willing to sacrifice just to keep Coach in for my amusement, and hope for a blindside.
While I’ve not been wowed by the challenges, this season does make me giggle quite a lot.
Unfortunately, Coach is now officially the guy that everyone wants to have alongside them at the final tribal council, so I don’t see anyone blindsiding Coach. Tyson needs to watch his back though.
I’m surprised he didn’t just say he invented it, like that whole “samurai” thing.
And frankly Brendan is the biggest threat after JT, followed by Tyson. I know everyone hates Coach, but in a purely strategic standpoint, it was the best move. And now they’re in a good position. They can easily pull in Erin and Sierra and switch it up.
Watching the way he treats Sierra, I can’t even begin to imagine how he coached women. They had to all hate him, right?
At this point, I think everyone is hoping to take Coach to the final with them. It’s a slam dunk to be there against him. At least it’ll be nice seeing the jury telling Coach what they think of him. He has no clue how he’s coming across.
ITA, Steve, Taj and JT voted out the likeable, athletic guy that has a Hidden Immunity Idol, who has a good chance of winning a lot of Immunity Challenges. instead they kept a disliked player who looks to be road hard an put up wet. Coach is no immunity challenge threat even though he has apparently thrown rocks at ceramic tiles.
That said, I can’t stand Coach, and I was so sure last night’s editing was leading up to his blindside. When he does leave, (and he better) there will be so much relief and joy in my house. I can hope there was some foreshadowing in last night’s edit.
My speculation:
It makes logical sense for the Coach (or Tyson) ouster in two weeks. Sierra should be out next week. Recruit Erinn to Jalapao-3 for a 4-3 advantage over Debbie, Tyson, and Coach.
Seriously, how can you not love someone that utterly out of touch with reality? I was skeptical about Jeff’s “watch Coach” comment at the beginning of the season, but day-um, he’s an all-time classic character.
Coach really is the safest player in this game. Possibly Debby also, because she’s so freaking useless that it would be tough for anyone to vote to give her a million bucks.
I can say one thing, this is probably gonna be one interesting final tribal. There aren’t really any “mean” characters. Tyson is probably the meanest, but it’s only in a half-serious manner, and he’s funny.
