Survivor 4/21

Going into more detail, here’s what I see as the two possibilities that faced Tom and Ian:

Plan A - Gregg makes it clear that he wants to vote out Stephenie. Tom and Ian decide it’s time to sever the alliance with Gregg instead. They stick with their original alliance with Stephenie and Katie. They approach Caryn - if she’s willing to vote against Gregg, Gregg goes. If she will only vote against Janu, Janu goes. After that the four people alliance has a majority and can take out Gregg by itself. If Gregg wins immunity, Jenn goes first instead. When Gregg, Jenn, and Janu are gone, Tom and Ian can decide if Stephenie is too dangerous to make the final four. If they decide yes, they bring in Caryn to replace her. Tom and Ian bring Katie into the final three where it’s every man for himself. Whoever wins the final challenge picks Katie to compete aginst and wins the million dollars.

Plan B - Gregg makes it clear that he wants to vote out Stephenie. Tom and Ian reluctantly go along with it. Janu doesn’t quit and Stephenie goes. The next morning Gregg approaches Caryn and Janu and points out Tom and Ian are a threat to everyone. If he plays it real well, he even convinces Katie that they can no longer be trusted after betraying one member of the alliance. Caryn and Janu already don’t trust Tom and Ian. Gregg, Jenn, Caryn, and Janu vote aginst Tom with Ian being the back-up if Tom wins another immunity. Tom, Ian, and Katie get picked off. Gregg is now in the final four with Jenn, Caryn, and Janu. Caryn is probably the next to go. Gregg easily wins the final challenge and does Boston Rob one better by bringing his girlfriend into the final two and winning the million dollars as well.

May I also suggest Brian Heidik? Assuming, of course, that he is actually capable of liking and admiring anyone – I’m not entirely sure he has a soul. (He was a used car salesman, after all.)

I didn’t see his season, but from what I understood, it was as you say. He didn’t really admire anyone but himself. Same with Hatch.

Has Hatch appeared in court yet over the tax evasion charges?

Does Gregg still have something going on with Jen? They didn’t mention it at all last epsiode. Since Coby told Steph everything, she would know about that relationship. And I wouldn’t think Steph would try an all female alliance if Gregg and Jen were still tight.

As far as I know, he’s appeared in court but the trial itself hasn’t begun yet. He originally had made a deal where he would plead guilty in exchange for a favorable sentence. But when he went to court to enter his plea, he apparently changed his mind and pleaded not guilty. So now a trial is being scheduled.

Maybe it’s just me but I think you guys are giving Gregg WAY too much credit.

All episode he spouted off about how he wasn’t going to let Janu go because it disrupted his plans for the million. Basically implying that they were all part of some We Hate Tom and Ian alliance, which Gregg would ride to the end.

But he never had Janu. She hated EVERYBODY and if she had stayed she would have taken up Coby’s position as the spoiler.

He’s Boston Rob from Marquesas, not Boston Rob from All-Stars.

i read this morning in the paper that it took them 2 hours to decide whether or not janu should be in the jury. And she said that’s why she was hesitant to quit right away, she didn’t want to jeopardize being included on that. And that Jeff didn’t push her as much as it may have looked like on tv.

The story.

bolding mine. editing is so sweet. still, it only confirms TPTB’s hands in this. allow - yes stephenie, deny - no stephenie. this is in light of Probst’s disdain for former quitters.

Probst likes good TV - whiny Osten crying about his precious temple, not doing a great job in challenges - bad for TV. Janu laying down her torch to give Stephenie (Stephenie - sole survivor of Ulong, Stephenie - with the beautiful abs, Stephenie - who wants to play Survivor so badly she cried) another chance at the game AND a chance to screw with the power team’s game strategy (a la the ghost tribe) - good for TV.

That’s one way to view it; but it’s not necessarily so cynically manipulative. The producers could’ve taken a very legalistic view – check the rules. Nothing in there about quitters being banned from the jury; therefore, there’s no basis for denying Janu a spot on the jury. Objection overruled. Protest denied.

I imagine even if the Producers decide to alter the rules, the Survivor contracts are so tight that the contestants have little room to manuever.

Speaking of which, whatever happened to that lawsuit filed by the lawyer contestant (Stacey?) from Season 1?

That article says that three other Survivors have quit. I remember Osten, but who were the others?

They both occurred on All-Stars. Jenna Marasco, who already had a million anyway, quit after I don’t remember how many weeks because her mother had taken a turn for the worse.

Sue Hawk quit a bit later because Nekkid Hatch harassed her during a challenge.

I’d like to see the players contractually forbidden from quitting for any reason other than a medical emergency.

See post #38 by GingeroftheNorth. She responded to a spoiler without boxing it. Her response leaked (I assume) what was in the spoiler.

[Up on Soapbox]Please, folks. I never read spoilers because I don’t want to know what’s coming up. Let’s be a little more careful in what we write so we don’t ruin it for people who like to be surprised. [Stepping Down from soapbox]
