Survivor 4/14

Let’s start with the big Times article

*Mr. Probst, who is also a producer of the show, said having contestants pick their own tribes was risky. “We figured the worst-case scenario is one tribe decimates the other tribe,” he said. *

*And so it happened. Ms. LaGrossa’s group, named Ulong, lost all eight immunity challenges. At the end of last week’s show, she returned to the camp by herself. *

Looking forward to a fun night

Yeah, it should be interesting. Looks like trouble, on the previews, over at Beach Kuror. I can imagine Steph winning the Immunity Challenge, and Kuror turning into Furor when they have to vote someone out.

Man, I can’t wait. If the immunity challenge ends up being Steph vs. 1 Kuror, she might very well win for once–especially if Kuror can’t use Ian, Tom, Gregg, or Coby.

Last week, Ian looked very excited about the prospect of Kuror turning on each other. I think he’s going to be an absolute blast to watch from here on in. Not that I minded watching him before. (Thank you, nerd-lust. )

But the people we watch tonight are going to be there through the end–everybody left will end up in the final two, or on the jury. I’m still of the belief that Ian, at least, will make it to the end–and from what we’ve seen so far, the only person who has a chance in hell of beating him is Tom, and last week’s Shower Disagreement makes it unlikely Katie and Jenn would vote for him, at least.

And, the little blurb from CBS:
One Survivor struggles to endure a hard night as life on the island becomes tougher this deep into the game.

After being excluded from a tribal excursion, one Survivor throws a tantrum.

One tribe enjoys a memorable evening, especially for the member who overindulges a bit.
This will be a great deal of fun, I think.

So in other words,

Kuror wins the Reward Challenge.

Geez, Johnny, they sure do make it obvious, huh?

I love Survivor tantrums!

If it’s out there in the ether (i.e., on the CBS website), does it need to be in a spoiler box? Just askin’.

Anyway … I have heard tell of a now-infamous incident involving one our favorite Kororians (koffTOMkoff) and something that goes with “yo-ho-ho.” Wonder if tonight’s the night for that? Sounds like it.

Oh, and lest we all forget: I heart Ian. That is all. Looking forward to tonight - go Dolphin Boy!

Wow, are they going to keep the two tribes even when Ulong has only one person? Frankly, Koror could stand to lose in IC and get rid of some of the dead weight. Rememebr, Tom et al are waiting for the merge to get Steph into their alliance.

Should be fun tonight!!

If I didn’t spoiler it, you know someone would have made me wish I had.

Ditto.

or a merge

Oh boy! I can’t wait for tonight’s episode!

I hope they let Steph stew on her own beach for a little while. At least two nights and a full day. I’d feel sorry for her if they left her as a tribe of one for days and days and days–but given that this is the first time we’ve seen a person left “alone,” I’d like to see how she manages.

haj, I think TPTB have pretty much confirmed that ain’t gonna happen (at least, not in any formal manner). But they’ve lied before, it could happen again.

What is the longest Survivor has ever gone before merging?

I’m hoping that she is left alone from here on out, and participates only in reward challenges. Viewers would then get to watch Koror cannibalize itself the way Ulong did, and wind up with a final three consisting of Steph and the two Koror survivors.

I haven’t heard of this incident - do tell!

Personally, if it is from a preview, I always read it.

But, I think the general spoiler policy is that if it was in the show that has already aired OR the preview that aired with it, it needs no spoiler box. Otherwise, probably best to put it in a box.

You’re watching it, I think. They usually merge at 10 players left. If there’s no merge (or other shakeup) tonight, this should be the longest the game’s ever gone without one.

Well, we’ll see it all soon enough, but it involves a bit of overindulgence. Not sure of the details, so I don’t know if there will be any spastic and/or orgiastic dancing, but here’s hoping!

Note: To all would-be reality show godfathers.

Don Vito Corleone did not get where he was by running his fool mouth.

Thank you. That is all.

Well, I agree with the choice. And for me it wouldn’t be a “compliment”- I just don’t like him.

I wanted to smack Probst with a dead mackerel when he told Ian (who had just offered to take off his clothes for a doughnut) “Nobody wants to see that”. I think Nerdlusters will cause a 3 point rise in Krispy Kreme stock tomorrow.
