Survivor: Palau - Week 3

I am looking forward again to learning more about the players and seeing the challenges that aren’t same old, same old.

Anyone have any tidbits?

Does “I heart Ian” count as a tidbit? My nerd lust is what helps me make it through the week.

Is shark hunting going to be sucessful??

I can’t decide who I like better, Tom the Firefighter or Ian the Dolphin Boy. I hope one of them makes it to the end.

Yah, I know, I am in kind of the same boat. (Ha! A sort of related pun!) Ian is my number one favorite - I heart him, after all - but Tom is moving on up.

Probst- “Good ol fashioned cat fight”.

Shut up Jeff, shut up.

I have a new found respect for Bobby John. He was pretty impressive in the immunity challenge. I think he’s my favorite in the losing tribe.

Tom and Ian are my favorites in the other tribe.

Somebody should pixel out Coby in his bikini briefs. It’s not that you could see anything, but it was still very disturbing.

Agreed, completely. I really, really wanted to dismiss him as stupid hick prettyboy but he’s definitely shaping up to be one of my favorites over there. Angie’s another one…no half-measures for her!

Ibrehim had actual speaking moments tonight!

Tom, Angie and Ian are the kings of this game.

RC was highly entertaining. Any time you allow full-on violence, things are always looking up.

At this point, I’d kill for a final four of Bobby-Jon, Tom, Ian and Angie.
But it won’t happen.

Try to imagine how little effort Kim is going to put into next week’s challenges now. At this point, she knows she’s doomed and is probably figured her best move is to hook up with Jeff back at the loser resort.

Bobby Jon - Working is good. Helping with challenges is good. Granted, a smarter person might have figured this out earlier. And at this point you need to start building a bridge to everyone else. You’re still an outsider in the voting bloc.

Ibrahem - He speaks. Basically the same situation as Bobby Jon. Good effort in the immunity challenge.

Stephenie - Surprisingly strong in both challenges. And wisely staying in the background in tribal squabbles.

Angie - Another good week. Got some revenge on Coby.

James - Still weasely. Notice that he got Jeff’s throwaway vote?

The Korors are still winning the immunities so it’s hard to tell how the tribe would break up. Caryn seems like the obvious outsider - she seems to be approaching the point where the others might consider throwing a challenge just to oust her (always a bad move). Coby’s position also seems vulnerable - he always seems to be somewhere else watching when other people are doing something. And I never want to see that man in speedos again. Tom and Ian had another great week - as long as they stick together they’ll go far. I could foresee those two, along with maybe Janu and Gregg, in the final four.

I’d been looking forward to seeing what the Katie/Caryn thing was all about. I had assumed that Katie had precipitated it, and Caryn let herself be sucked into a yelling match. Boy, was I wrong.

That whole interlude was so completely bizarre. Caryn brings the crazy. And the bitchy.

I’m with you guys on the growing like for Bobby Jon. He’s definitely weird and overly intense, but he gives good interviews and gives a lot of effort both in camp and in challenges.

Speaking of challenges, I really enjoyed both challenges this time around.

And we got to hear so much talking from Tom. Yay. That accent is dreamy.

What revenge? Did I miss something? The only thing I saw Angie do was dunk Greg in the water over and over again when they were doing the Reward Challenge.

I forgot to mention that I think it’s pretty silly to have Willard sit out on Reward Challenges. If they do that, he has to do the Immunity Challenge and they’re at a disadvantage when they do that. One of these days, they’re going to have a challenge when he can’t drop out and they’ll be forced to drag him along on a challenge that will determine if they go to tribal council or not. A better plan would be to have him participate on reward challenges, he can’t hinder them too much. They’ve lost with him sitting those out so they might as well let him play and then sit him out on the one that really matters.

My mistake. I was thinking it was Coby and Janu she was competing against.

I agree with Grace on Willard sitting out the reward challenges - winning immunities is the most important thing you can do in this game and that’s what you base your strategy on. It was especially bad tonight when they had him sit it out and then lost the challenge so quickly he wouldn’t have had to compete anyway.

Agreed and Agreed.

But, WTF with the vote for Jeff? Kim was the one who should’ve gone. Bobby-John and James need to get their act together and convince the other tribe members of the best voting strategy. If Jeff didn’t get better in a few days, they could vote him out next, but Kim is absolutely worthless.

Tom rocks, even if he did lose his round of the RC. I gotta say, though, that I find his accent confusing. I know he’s lived in NY all his life, but his accent is like a 50/50 Boston/NY accent. There’s something about it that doesn’t sound completely NY. In fact the first time I heard him speak, I thought he was from Boston… and I’m a native Boston guy who knows the difference between a Boston and NY accent.

Did anybody else get tingly watching Tom and Jeff wrastling in the water?

Heh! When Jenn and Steph were going all catfighty, I turned and whispered to supervenusfreak “As millions of teenage boys masturbate…”

I’m also liking Bobby Jon a lot more. He’s kinda cute, too.

I was also lost on the whole Katie/Caryn fight. I think Caryn is losing it in the heat. She also was one of the first to drop out in the IC. It didn’t look too hard (said from the relative comfort of my sofa), but some of them were sure dropping like flies.

I agree with this. And also wonder: what with all of Caryn’s WAB’ing (whiny-ass bitching) about making decisions through a vote, do they decide ahead of time who is going to sit out? Or just right there? Or what?

Also, did they say at any time in the episode how long that IC took? Because it looks like it went on for hours.

And, because I must add this in: how damn cute are those guys on Koror? Tom, with his, “I’m on a tribe with these other two knuckleheads …” And Ian, being all, “This is the stupidest thing I’ve done in a couple days …” Ohmygod, I heart those two so much! (I feel like I’m twelve!)
