Survivor: Palau - Week 3

I can’t tell you all how much I look forward to every Thursday.

So, will Jeff’s (all but) quitting last week affect Kim? I think she could be in trouble if her tribe loses again this week. Not that I would be upset if she did leave.

So far, I’m loving pretty much everyone on Koror. And, the challenges are amazing. I think that we’re definately heading in the right direction this season.

Isn’t this Week 4?

And am I a bad person because I had a naughty dream last night that involved Gregg, Tom, Bobby Jon and Ian (not at the same time, but in that order)?

And, Jeff is the new Osten.

You’re only a bad person because Ian wasn’t first.

Anybody have any idea what’s in the box that will change their lives? cue ominous music

And isn’t it week 4?

sigh Can you tell I don’t read anything unless it’s about Ian? :smack:

No, but apparently even my subconscious likes to save the … ahem … best for last.

Here’s hoping that the Big Ol’ Box contains clean underwear and deodorant.

I guess it is week 4! :smack:

I blame the pain kills for my newly broken elbow!

Any mods available to correct the thread title, so Draelin and I can keep our nerd lust threads straight?

Danke.

I’ll have to disagree with that. Osten openly quit without an injury, a nick, a scratch. He was worried what was going to happen to his body. He essentially chickened out before anything bad could happen to him.

Jeff asked to be voted out because he felt his worth was taken away due to an injury. Having suffered 18 sprained ankles myself, I know quite well what a quick healing one feels like and what a 2 week healer that requires me to move slower than sloth for 5 days feels like. I think Jeff was rash in his request because he was still more valuable than Kim and not every challenge relies on physicality. But, at the same time, I know how useless I would be with a really bad sprain and that usefulness probably would have earned me an ouster down the road anyway.

Hree’s my post from the thread I started, which I’ve asked to be closed. I think Lady Venom and I started threads at the same time. Great minds think alike, you know.
In the previews, we see Jeff coming in on a boat with a big-ass box. The VO says what’s in the box will change the game as they know it (or something to that effect). There’s also a clip saying that the one team (I’ve forgotten the name already - not Koror, the other one) has lost every IC so far and Stephenie saying that they can’t afford to lose another player. We also see a bit of a challenge of what looks like the Survivors wrestling and kicking each other’s asses off a podium thing - I guess whoever stays on the podium is the winner.

My digital cable guide says both teams are supposed to choose leaders, but they don’t know what the leaders are for. It’s too early for a merge, isn’t it?

You’re right - I was being unfair to Jeff. However, I do think that Jeff would have been far more useful to the tribe than Kim, and I wish he would have stayed. In that regard alone he is decidely un-Osten-like, since I couldn’t wait for Osten to be gone.

Yes, I think it is. The Merge usually happens when there are around ten players left, I think - only one or two merged players doesn’t make the final jury, usually. I wonder if we will even see what the “representatives” are for this week. Rumor has it that

there is a double-elimination coming up, maybe as soon as next week.

Perhaps their “greater purpose” will be withheld until later?

Also: Due to NCAA basketball, Survivor will be on Wednesday next week! (Note that I attempted to use my beloved Koror’s color, there.)

Dang, I’m going to miss tonight’s reality TV lineup and won’t be able to watch it until Sunday. The only upside of that withdrawal is the next episode comes so quickly:)

Am I a bad person because I really enjoyed seeing self-described redneck (and obvious braggart) James get pushed into the water by Big Gay Coby… twice! Heh heh… I suppose I should have more loyalty to a fellow Alabamian, but the fantasy of every gay boy to drown a redneck transcends geography.

I thought the same thing Sampiro, the same thing. And in that IC, did everyone forget how to use their legs for drive?

I was surprised that no one used the other person’s momentum to knock them off the platform. So many of them charged the opponent and leaned forward. No one tried to do a quick sidestep and knock them off from behind.

Oh, good lord…

Parting comments from the person who lost:

I don’t think the men on this tribe are anything special…

Oh, drowning in irony! I’m drrrooooowwwwwwning!!!

What they really needed for Kim to show her worth was an immunity challenge based on sitting around looking angsty and distressed. THAT would show them!

Grace: That’s what James tried to do. He sidestepped Coby and ended up too close to the edge, standing straight up, and had nowhere to go when Coby turned on him. “Them ho-mo-seximals can be pretty quick when they think somebody might get behind 'em.”

Oh! I must’ve looked away. My bad!

Sigh. Not much of my Well-Beloved-Dolphin-Nerd-Boy this week, but one little smile from him is enough, I suppose. Sigh. More of Gregg, though - that was nice. He’s not my usual type, but he gets a pass for being on the right tribe.

What is Caryn’s deal? Is she a Vanuatu-Ami-style man-hater or something? She is married, so I don’t think she’s a lesbian. But she does have a bit of an authority problem when the authority figure isn’t her, doesn’t she?

Oh, and Ulong should just change their tribe name to “Yurgone.” Sheesh. I didn’t think it was possible, but it looks like this tribe might actually manage to Pagong itself. What are they going to do if there are only two of them left?

I had a phone call (telemarketer at that, the bastids) when they were showing Koror’s bathroom. What did they have that was better than Ulong’s (which I have to admit looked pretty good)?

Well, for one thing, it wasn’t going to fall down if someone shat too hard. The shower was larger, and sturdier. The areas were separated by a path so there was privacy for both when both were in use.
