Credit for that one has to go to Joanna, the recapper over at TWoP. The folks over there are pretty good at the nickname thing. Heidious, Jennatalia, Mattchete, Davey Rockett…The fun never ends!
I wondered while watching the show…why is Matt and Butch fishing for the group? They were pretty PO’d that the “cool four” were just lazing in the sun while the other three were working. I’d be really tempted to fish and then announce, “sorry but you’ll have to get your own supper tonight. The fishing pole? I can’t remember where I placed it. What a bummer”.
Rob won’t win the big prize the way he handle this game so far. It is possible he can squeak out a win but highly unlikely.
This has got to be one of the best Survivor’s ever, so many flips and you never know who you can really trust. Boy was I glad that the minority got the wake-up call that they did… Rotu still had more gall than the JHAR so-called majority pompous attitude.
We need to point out that Rob only flipped because, the mentally retarded prolly from drug use, Alex told Rob that he’ll be only fourth place when all the minority grouping got ousted. Rob had to make the tough choice of flipping to at least have a better chance at winning the big prize. He chose correctly, since the blunt truth from Alex made it clear he wasn’t at all part of the majority.
Rob knows how to play the game, but I just can’t wait to see it all blow up in his face. He knows his tribemates really well, as the IC pointed it out. But Matt, Butch and Christy played a fine game and they probably know Rob is quite the schemer himself.
Matt is not so ignorant as he claims he is. He was going to actually form the bloc to oust Alex even before Alex ran his mouth to Rob. Matt actually got lucky that Rob approached him so, he knew for sure that Rob had flipped.
Christy, finally you’re playing this game… or finally we see some schemer in you. You seem to be in tune with the game. And it is quite evident that a game plan is being forged in your mind, as well as your total disgust with the Boobies. Kudos to you, you finally got that “deaf card” princess thing out of my mind for the time being. I’ll be totally glad to root for you.
Butch, man you need to be more spicy or say something controversial. You need some gawddanged airtime. We know that things are running in your mind. And your seemingly tight bond with Matt is a plus. Try to remain strong with Christy too, I think she likes you. They all like you, they’d trust their lives with you. hehe.
Alex = retard… sorry that is so harsh, but it is quite evident that he did not game well enough. Why would you even tell your potential ally that they have no chance in winning? What reason is there for that retarded blunder?
Boobs = Boobs. Only eye candy, no brains, scheming sure, but no real plan but to manipulate men. They just want to see each other in the final two. And that ain’t gonna happen now.
Great show, next week should have some good drama. Rob will be on the defensive. It’ll be funny how he’ll try to do damage control. This will be the first for him. And again I’ll be rooting for the minority, wait now the majority minus Rob.
She is stupid. Her first comment tonight was, “We’ve been out here for, like, gosh knows how long, and …”
Jeez, they know exactly how long they’ve been there. They keep track of it, and Jeff Probst mentions it every time they see him.
I was also glad to see the turn of events tonight.
Good riddance Alex. Wow, was he every cocky going to TC. And the looks on Heidi and Jenna’s faces was just priceless.
And I agree, Jenna was a total bitch about the letter thing.
Rob is a total dick. He clearly voted Alex out just to be closer with the girls. He even revealed a few episodes back about how great it would be if the final 3 were him, Jenna, and Heidi.
I could see that Rob was disappointed when Alex got to sit next to Jenna to console her, and not him, while all he could do is stand in front of her and pretend to look concerned.
And, Christie complaing that the affection among Jenna, Heidi, and Alex is sickening? Ha! Looks like somebody is a little jealous.
Also, when asked about who needed therapy the most, I thought it was kinda funny how Christie voted for Jenna, when everyone else voted for Matt. She really does have it in for Jenna.
And, when Matt shook Rob’s hand to give him his word about the alliance, I thought it was a little funny how Rob was very quick to wipe his hands clean, right in front of Matt, no less.
I mean, I could understand if Matt’s hands have some dirt on them, but Rob could’ve wiped them clean when he’s out of Matt’s sight. Matt could construe that in a negative way.
Tonight’s show ROCKED!
Jenna is the most self-centered, selfish BITCH. I LOATHE that woman. But for the kindness of Christy, she wouldn’t have gotten her letter. And not only did the ungrateful bitch not even bother to thank her, she was actually angry and mean about it! The least she could’ve done is offered her some chocolate and peanut butter! For heaven’s sake, Christy could’ve demanded it when Jeff said it was up to her if anyone else would even get a chance to bid on their letters.
Alex has to be the dumbest player ever – including all the previous Rob(b)s. When he pulled Rob over to the side and started talking about the tittie twins being bonded by the boobs, I thought he was going to suggest a similar “boys” alliance against the girls, depending on who won immunity. But no, he’s dumb enough to actually tell Rob that he’s got no better chance than 4th place if he sticks with them! And then has no clue who turned on him at TC! Is dirt that dumb?!
I adore Matt. He gave that immunity to Rob as a show of good faith. No way in hell he thought anybody said they had a crush on him, let alone the majority of them. He threw that challenge right into Rob’s lap and thank goodness Rob obviously realized it. Rob not only did the right thing strategically for himself, but he did the right thing character-wise and I was surprisingly impressed.
And I loved in the previews for next week how he stood his ground and said, “Feel free to write R-O-B on your parchment at the next tribal council!” Go Rob!
I really, really, really, really, REALLY hope the boobsie twins get booted in the next 2 rounds. GAWD I hate those women!
I’ll add my voice to the chorus of WOOHOO!
I’ve never been so happy to be completely wrong. I never thought Rob would flip. But then, I never thought Alex would be stupid enough to tell Rob he would cut him loose in the final four.
Although I don’t think I was wrong that this move won’t help Rob himself at all. He’s still gone at number four, in all likelihood, but at least he can go out with a little dignity now, not as a puppet of the Boobsie Twins.
I truly think you may be right. When they were discussing Jenna getting the letter afterward, she said something like “I didn’t have any more money to help her get it.” WTF? You never offered to help, you were bidding against her! A bit unclear on the concept, are we?
It’s weird—she’s not completely stupid. She has a fairly good grasp of basic strategy, for example. But she’s got these weird areas of total disconnect from reality. Maybe silicon-induced brain damage?
Anyway: GO CHRISTY!
On the contrary, I think Rob is in a good position when it’s down to the final four, assuming those four are Butch, Christy, Matthew and Rob. There are no perceived personality or psychological deficiencies among those four, so the likeliest to be voted out is the strongest. That means Matthew.
Or, the likeliest to be kept is the most disliked: that means Rob. I think Rob has a good chance of making the final three, and if he makes the final three, he’ll make the final two.
There, it’s most interesting. If I were on the jury, even if Rob had stabbed me in the back, I’d have to respect how well he’s played the game. I just might vote for him to win.
Well, Fiver, considering my record so far, disagreeing with me is a pretty safe bet. But I’ll try to defend my position anyway…
Maybe. But Matt is also likeliest to win immunity. I’m assuming that Butch and Christy will be a bloc, as they seem to like and respect each other. So if Matt wins immunity, I think either Rob goes, or it’s a tie between Rob and either Butch or Christy. We don’t know what they’re doing for a tie-breaker this year, but unless it’s pure chance, I wouldn’t bet on Rob against either of those two.
I just don’t think M/C/B are going to be thinking that way. They’re not cut-throat enough. I think they’ll want to keep people they like, especially after what they went through, winning out against the odds and all that.
I would too actually. But then, you and I aren’t (I presume)
shallow, self-involved narcissists. Alex might vote for him, but I would expect Heidi and Jenna to vote against him out of spite. (Unless he’s up against Christy, who they also hate. That’s a tough call.)
I loved Rob’s move. Why? Because I dislike him and it was probably the stupidest move so far this season. And it’s been up against some serious competition.
There Rob is, safe and secure in a four part alliance that is virtually guaranteed to take him into the final four. A little luck, a couple of immunities, or maybe the “Clay factor” and he’s in the final two. If he just had the sense to lay lot and stop playing Machiavelli he might have gotten the votes to win the million.
In fact, here’s a strategy he should have followed. While Alex and the Boobsie Twins were sunning themselves, Rob should have gotten up and done a little work around the camp. The other three were all pissed at the way the cool kids were doing zero. So by making a minimal effort, Rob would’ve looked like a saint. He could have told Matt, Butch, and Christy “I apologize for the way they’re acting. I like you guys but I have to stick with my alliance.” Three solid votes in the final council.
Instead, he abandons a sure chance to go into the final four to join in with the three outsiders. What did he gain? Nothing except an equal chance to be in the final four with a different group. Why would he think his odds are any better in this new group? And what did he lose? He’s now betrayed Alex, Heidi, and Jenna, who can join Dave and Deena (who Rob also betrayed). Chances of Rob getting four votes in the final council? Zero.
Other highlights:
Heidi - “Gosh knows how long we’ve been out here” Let me guess, dear, you lost count on day 21 when you ran out of fingers and toes.
Jenna - Voted “worst survivor ever” by her peers. Apparently crying and flashing your boobs aren’t regarded as good solo survival skills.
Matt - What the hell happened to his forehead? Was he cleaning his machete and it went off? And it was interesting that while he was the most common answer given for being the most honest, he was the only person that guessed he was the correct answer.
Jeff - I’m wondering about the decision to auction off the second letter. Was it pre-planned? Did Jeff decide to do it on his own? Did Mark Burnett cue him from off camera?
Well, now that the power flip has occurred, and at just the right time too, the Matt-Christy-Butch alliance is looking very strong. Look at it this way, next IC they have a choice of voting out one of two weak-allied players, Jenna or Heidi, or the turncoat Rob. Either way they’ll retain numerical advantage. The key, of course, is stringing Rob along for one more IC, or else turning the Boobie twins against Rob, both relatively easy tasks I think.
Did anyone else notice that Matt suddenly seems more aware? Maybe it’s the editing, or maybe he just suddenly realized what the game’s about, either way good for him.
My early prediction for next week: Rob or Heidi are history.
I’m glad someone mentioned this. Even after Jenna gets her letter after all (thanks to Christy’s niceness), she bitches about how she’s “not surprised that Christy would bid against me”, or somesuch bitchy comment. Indeed, as others have said, she should’ve been thanking Christy.
Jenna has certainly defeated Jeri for the title of All-Time Survivor Bitch. Jeri, at least, was a bitch-you-loved-to-hate–her main schtick was that she was opinionated, in-your-face, and unapologetic (plus, Surreal Life brought her some redemption). Jenna, however, I just absolutely hate, for the many, many reasons that others have already stated.
I agree with HeiDDi being an idiot for bidding against Jenna. The stinkeye Jenna gave Christy during the first round was nothing compared to when she looked over at her bestest friend in the whole wide world and said, $120. That’s all I’ve got." Hee hee.
Something I just noticed last night. They made a big deal about how much time Matt spends sharpening the machete. I didn’t notice until tribal council–HE’S SHAVING, guys. Everybody else has full-blown caveman beards growing, but he’s got that devil beard action going.
'course, it might not help in his attempt to not seem insane that he’s shaving with a machete, but still…
hey, did anybody else notice that Christy picked Jenna as being the one most in need of therapy? She’s not getting all the “Matthew is insane” jokes, probably due to her deafness… or she really thinks Jenna is a fruitcake.
This was a great Survivor! I love it when arrogant people have it blow up in their face, and there was 3 for the price of 1 this week.
I agree with Shayna that Matt threw that last question. After realizing everyone thinks he needs therapy, I doubt he thought those same people all had a crush on him.
And let me just add my vote to Jenna being a bitch. If you’re that concerned about your mother’s cancer, DON’T GO ON SURVIVOR! She has a brain tumor, and you’re playing a game show? That costs you any sympathy points you might have had. Christy had just as much right as you to get a letter from home.
Although I don’t really care for Rob, I’m glad he’s around just because he’s made things so interesting. He’s also probably screwed himself out of 1st place betraying so many people (guys alliance, Deena, now Alex. In fact, I think he’s betrayed a different person every week since the merge), but since I don’t like him, I don’t mind.
Oh, and Ethilrist, maybe Christy’s being honest. Jenna does seem to have alot more issues than Matt, who showed himself to be pretty savvy this week, including understanding his own weaknesses.
What a great season of Survivor. All the changes we hoped for in the past were implemented and the game is much more interesting. It does help though, that Alex did, quite possibly the stupidest move in Survivor history.
After having watched Denna blow her chance at the million by opening her big fat mouth about voting an alliance member off because she smugly thought she was in charge, he did the exact same thing the next week. Arrrgh! how freaking stupid!
He tells Rob-- to his face – that he is going to vote him off. While there is something he can do about it. Why? Do you know when you tell him- NEVER!! Tell him its guys vs. the girls in the final four-- that is what I thought he was going to say. That assures him of a strong ally in the final 4. Alex you had the money in your hand after the last tribal counsel, and by sitting on your ass and running your stupid mouth you lost it all. Idiot.
Matt suddenly looks likes the scales have been lifted from his eyes. Now there is 3 people- Matt, Butch and Christy, deserving of the money in the final 4. Excellent.
I absolutely cannot wrap my mind around the fact that after Jeff Probst gave Jenna a chance to get her letter from him (entirely due to the graciousness of Christy, which neither of the bitches ever acknowledged), that Heidi bid against her!!
I’m in agreement with the people who say that Heidi is borderline retarded. I snorted last week when Heidi said during Tribal Council that the two things she brought to the game were her intelligence and her athleticism. Ha!! Nice try there, idiot…this, coming from the same person who voted out Gene (Jeanne) and Denna (Deena).
What a moron.
Way to go, mulli!
I agree with the folks saying Rob was stupid. Tho Alex may be a bigger physical threat, Rob sertainly has more brains than A/H/J combined. Perhaps he could convince Alex that in the final 4, the guys should vote against the girls, and that they would at least have a chance of going on. Or convincing the girls to vote out Alex, since the final 3 IC is generally som kind of endurance test, where the boobies could view Alex as a bigger threat than Rob.
But now, he clearly is no better than #4. Unless he goes on a Colby run.
Yes, Jenna is a bitch. The way I understood her comment concerning Christy’s bidding was “I couldn’t believe the way she outbid Heidi. Oh well, whatever.” I didn’t understand what she meant, but just put it down as being consistent with her overwhelming cluelessness.
Just wondering, are these the best fed survivors ever?
Was I the only one who hoped that somebody outbid Jenna for that last letter?
I thought for sure Rob, or Matt, somebody there had more money than Jenna. What I would have given to see that! It would have been the best scene in the history of Survivor.
Or for Christy to say “No, I don’t want you to auction off another letter.” that would have been priceless as well.
Well, I figured that’s why they showed previews of next week with Rob spelling his name out for them all in case they didn’t know how to spell it and they wanted to vote him off.
Sorry - Rob made the right move. Either alliance he has basically the same chance of immunity IMHO. But in the A/H/J alliance he is absolutely 4th. I do not think the M/B/C alliance is nearly as tight, and I also think they respect Rob more than A/H/J. I see it very plausible that someone of M/B/C votes with Rob in the final four just because they like him.
Also - clearly the M/B/C alliance is way smarter than A/H/J - any one of them might decide to bring Rob to final two because of the betrayal factor.
There was zero - zero - chance of Rob getting past #4 in A/H/J unless he won immunity.
