Survivor 4/24

**

Huh? That was a few episodes back. Did you listen to the conversation b/w Alex and Rob, or to his conversation with Matt?

I’d say Christy is the worst Survivor player ever to make it this far, hands down. She has made no alliances, no friends, several enemies and has very little idea of what is going on around her. She’s a sweet girl, and very nice. But she doesn’t have clue #1 as to how to play this game. Everything that’s happened that has involved her has been the complete initiation of another person. I’ve yet to see her even try.

I actually have a little sympathy for Jenna. We don’t know how much she has told everyone else about her mother, but I’d wager that she has mentioned her cancer. After 28 days, I can’t see how that doesn’t come up. If it were me with a chance to bid against her for a letter from home, there’s no way in hell I’d do it. At that point, I’d love more than anything to hear from my family, but having a loved one go through cancer treatment with no way to hear from them is something I couldn’t deny. Jenna certainly handled it incorrectly, but I cannot blame her.

Matt - $1MM is all yours:

Now that the tables have been turned, Heidi and Jenna will be the next two voted out. Magic 8-Ball says: Bob Guccione will pay them $250K each to do a faux-lezbaux spread in Penthouse.

Matt, Butch, and Christy would want to be in the final with Rob, since he’s burned his bridges and won’t get any votes. Rob would want to be in the final with Matt I think because of the three, Matt is probably the least liked - many people seemed to think he’s too odd or distant.

Matt is Rob’s best chance, but still not a good chance. Matt is likely to win any physical challenges - and most importantly the final challenge which is always an endurance/pain challenge - he probably welcomes the pain. Matt and Rob will stick together to take out Butch and Christy because it it mutually beneficial for them to go into the final together.

Of course, my master plan will be for naught if Rob can be convinced to flip yet again by Heidi and Jenna by a “promise” of an after-Survivor-back-at-the-hotel threesome.

Oh, but I can.

I think it was just her stupid sense of pure entitlement that got me. From the editing (which, I grant, obviously isn’t showing us everything), we know that Jenna barely talked to Christy or even acknowledged her presence since the beginning of the show, so why should Christy be expected to give up her letter? Also, Jenna should be thanking her for letting Jeff auction off another letter after she sobbed and pouted and shot death looks at our plucky little deaf girlTM.

I’m also curious about why Jenna went on the show in the first place if she’s so concerned about her mom. Speaking as someone whose mother recently died from a long, scary illness, it would have taken a lot more than the promise of a million dollars to go for me to spend 39 days away from my mother. Yes, I know everyone handles parental illness differently, but I do feel like Jenna’s decision to go on the show in the first place was a little questionable.

Christy should’ve said “Sure, Jeff auction another one off. But I get half the food the winner bought”
I would also like to reiterate the cosmic stupidity of HeiDDi bidding against her “bestest friend” for the lsat letter. Classic, absolutely classic!

Howzabout the bat burying granny?
I mea, I sure won’t call Christy a player. But the bar HAS been set pretty durn low…

Dinsdale has a point. Christy’s along for the ride, but Jan made it to the final 3 and I don’t think she understood she was on a game show.

When is Christy going to win a challenge? (Or for that matter, change her shirt?)

Was that last season? If so, I need to excuse myself, as I didn’t see any of it.

Absolutely not true. Rob doesn’t need to win either of the next 2 immunities – C/M/B/R only need to make sure that neither Heidi nor Jenna does.

And the idea that he could’ve convinced Alex to vote guys against the girls was blown the minute Alex stupidly fessed up that that’s exactly what wouldn’t happen! And convince the girls to get rid of Alex? It is to laugh! Jenna would NEVER have done that at the final 4 point. ONLY when it got to final 3 would she or Heidi boot Alex. Alex came right out and said so!

So he’s pretty safe for the next 6 days – C/M/B would rather take their chances against him with the jury than either of the tittie twins, whose friends are now all sitting over there.

FF to the final 4 and it’s C/M/B/R – that’s the immunity Rob needs to win. And even if he doesn’t win it, there’s still a chance that any of the other 3 would see him as less of a threat in front of the jury and bring him along for the ride.

I’m beginning to think they’d be wrong, though. Based on the Early Show interviews with Deena and Alex, I think they respect him more than resent him…

I say Rob has a way better chance with a C/M/B/R final four than the other way around. It’ll be fun to see how it really plays out!

The Wrong Girl, as much as I despise that little bitch, Jenna, I kindof have to disagree with you about her decision to go on the show being questionable. I, too, lost my mother to cancer. During her illness she absolutely insisted that everyone lead their lives completely normally as if she weren’t ill – she even sent her youngest daughter off to college in another State! Maybe it was denial, maybe it was hope that if life went on for everyone around her, it would for her, too. Believe me, my little sister didn’t want to go away to school, even though ordinarily she’d’ve been excited about it (she was a freshman, so this was her first time moving away from home and having the fun college campus experience), but my mother made her do it. And at that point we just wanted to do whatever would make her happy. And in Alex’s interview this morning he said that Jenna’s mother has been battling breast cancer for 10 years! Ten years is a long time to put one’s life on hold. If Jenna had passed up every opportunity to do something like this during the past 10 years, she’d be going stir crazy from feeling shut out of life. I don’t find any fault with her going on Survivor in spite of her mother’s illness. What I find fault with is her playing that card in an effort to make others feel guilty about playing this game against her. I think that’s just downright evil.

I did not hear Alex’s talk to Rob the same as you guys. As I heard him, Alex said, “These 2 will never vote against each other. And I intend to vote against you, and I assume you will do the same to me.” What I DID NOT hear Alex say was that he knew for a fact that the 2 girls would certainly vote for Rob. Did I miss it?

Meanwhile, Rob would have 6 days after ousting Matt to try to win himself into the Boobies’ good graces, while voting out C/B. Lacking that, he would only need to win the immunity among the final 4 - forcing the Boobies to vote out Alex.

Those look like 2 strong possibilities. Sure, maybe not winners in light of the Boobies apparent loyalty to Alex. But better chances than he’d have with C/M/B. Heck, they could (and probably SHOULD) vote Rob out next week, before turning to the Boobies. He may need immunity to even make it to to final 4 with C/M/B, and then certainly will need it to get to the final 3.

Hey, if I say the Boobies act as tho with one mind, is that oerly generous in imputing 1/2 a mind to each of them?

So here’s my early prediction: Rob goes next week.

Munch - Granny was last season.

There was a wonderful point where another player clearly told her at a certain point their only chance was to vote off another player. Granny did not seem to have the faintest ability to grasp the concept. Then on the recap, Granny said, “Oh I wish I had realized we needed to do that then. Why didn’t anyone tell me?” The other player stared daggers at her and said, “I tried to explain it to you you worthless senile old bag.”

Well, I may be paraphrasing, but that is the way I like to remember it.

No, you didn’t miss Alex saying anything like that because he didn’t. But no one would ever believe otherwise – it went without saying.

And as I said above, Rob doesn’t necessarily have to win immunity at all from now on. If C/M/B go along with getting rid of titgirls first, any of them might think Rob’s their best bet to win the game in the end wrt how the jury will vote, so they may very well carry him along for the ride, immunity or not. And C/M/B would be stupid to think any of them would have a snowball’s chance in hell against Heidi or Jenna in the final 2, considering the jury is comprised of Heidi & Jenna’s friends! Therefore there’s no way they’ll vote off Rob before either of the boobs.

OTOH, if Rob didn’t win immunity at the final 4 with H/J/A, I absolutely guarantee you the 3 of them would’ve kicked him to the curb without batting an eye. He’d never have been able to talk the titsters into booting Alex – look what happened to the last person who tried to separate the girls from their boy toy! They’re not smart enough to play the odds and go against their friends! That’s why nimrod Alex fessed up to Rob – his “integrity” was more important to him than this game (go read the interview with him, where he says that outright). And that’s how the girls are, too. Never, never, never would they have had the smarts to dump Alex in favor of keeping Rob around. They’re too “loyal”.

Nope. I stand by my contention that Rob had no chance whatsoever against H/J/A and he made the best possible move he could’ve made, given that he can’t rely on winning immunities and with the C/M/B group it’s less necessary to do so but with H/J/A it was critical.

Ten years is a long time–I didn’t know it was that long. Ah well–I was wrong, Jenna gets a pass on this one. But I still hate the way she acted at the Immunity challenge.

The thing that amazes me is that of the remaining six, Rob seems to be the only one who’s actually playing the game. Everybody else seems to be living life in the Amazon on a day-to-day basis, dealing with the challenges as the come and hoping they don’t get voted off. Rob’s the only one doing any kind of strategizing and planning. The last three to get voted off, Dave, Deena and Alex, were all playing the game. See how well that worked for them?

As much as he frightens me and gives me nightmares, Matt is playing the game, to an extent. He’s got Butch wrapped around his finger more than Rob does. It will be interesting to see who can manipulate Christy the best, Rob or Matt. Butch may actually be a contender if he can get her on his side.

Holy Smokes! Spoilers from the official CBS Survivor website about next week’s episode…
The video shows Jenna speaking after the TC vote, which means she sticks around at least one more week. And what she says is, “When I heard the vote, I almost passed out.” I’m guessing this means that Heidi gets the boot next week and Jenna knows she’s just flapping in the wind all by herself now. I sure hope so, anyway!

And in their true, selfish, evil form, “Feeling ostracized and betrayed, Jenna and Heidi refuse to help out around camp.” I really, really despise these two twits. If I were Christy, Matt, Bruce and Rob, those stupid bitches would go hungry for those 3 days, except for whatever bark they can peel off the trees. Do they really think they can win this game with that kind of hateful attitude?
BTW, The Wrong Girl, my condolences on the loss of your mother. I meant to say that before, but I forgot.

I’d like to play Survivor sometime, but there’s no place at the Survivor 6 website to sign up. So on a hunch, I tried typing Survivor 7 into my URL field, and lo and behold! It took me to an application page for the next season.

Unfortunately, the deadline was February. Sigh.

Does anyone know what’s up with the rumored Survivor All-Star game?

Is there anyone here who has not heard the BIG spoiler? The revelation as to the winner and the runner-up that was seemingly reliable enough to curtail some wagering?

Sure looks more and more like it could happen.

NOTE: anyone wishing to discuss said spoiler might want to be extremely circumspect in their use of black or blank space in doing so - or consider a separate thread. Conversely, anyone wishing to maintain their innocence may wish to scroll carefully when viewing the rest of this thread.

I haven’t heard/read the so-called BIG spoiler and I don’t want to! And I shouldn’t have to “scroll carefully when viewing the rest of this thread” because anyone wishing to post spoilers had damn well better use the spoiler tags and describe the contents as containing said spoiler. It’s not that difficult a tag to use, for heaven’s sake!

Thank you!

Shayna, regarding the spoiler you posted above:

How do you know it’s a clip from after next week’s TC? I can’t think of a single episode that has shown footage after the TC (aside from the usual “on next week’s Survivor…” promo). Are you sure it wasn’t after last night’s TC?

You know, if Jenna gets voted out next week, HeiDDI will really be between a rock and a hard stone.
