That’s both alternates out, I believe. She and that Asian guy were the last second replacements.
That was a frustrating episode.
They had Rizo gone and they pissed it away. Sophie was smart to plan to throw a vote on somebody else in case Rizo played his idol. She was stupid to tell anybody about it.
After that, paranoia took over, and they actually allowed the player that they all wanted to vote out to manipulate them into doing what he wanted. An amazing display of ineptitude.
Meanwhile, Savannah’s sob story about her job where nobody would talk to her simply highlighted her lack of introspection and self-awareness. Surely she had nothing to do with this; everyone was just mean and she was the victim. Ugh.
For a minute last week I thought the tables were turning, but I predict Savannah and Rizo will continue to lead the rest of these idiots around by the nose, and we’ll all be pissed at how this season ends.
Yeah, I forgot about that. That was my thought too - I wouldn’t want to have to deal with her in a professional environment either. I can see her being so very annoying that people just don’t want to interact with her because shes.. annoying.
I was hoping she’d be voted out. Oh well. The Producers obviously favor her.

Do you think they specifically planned this challenge (a variation of which has been done nearly every season) to save her?
No, but she has clearly been getting more camera time than anyone else.
Somebody has to get more camera time than the other players.
Yes, I agree Savannah has been the default narrator, but I think that more likely she is more media savvy than the other contestants meaning she is more eloquent and well spoken in front of camera.
Honestly, I don’t understand all hate on this board towards Savannah. I think she has made the show a lot more interesting. And any speculation that the producers inserted this challenge specifically for Savannah is non-sense.
I di not claim that. But as an example, one time she came in while Jawan was napping, started to yap away, which woke him up, then she went around complaining he “was listening in to my conversation”. .
Yeah, I kind of like her. She gives off a privileged vibe, not that I know anything about her upbringing. But generally she is OK.
OK, I feel like a sucker because her sob story actually made me warm to her a little.

You realize this is done in post, right? They edit the show based on how it plays out, not the other way around.
Oh my God, yes. As mentioned above, all I could think of while she was relaying that story, was ‘well no shit!’
Well, there was an episode. Where thing happened. I remember the competitions, but that’s pretty much it. There was a lot of talking, and some emotional things, and someone swapped from the winning tribe to let someone else eat.
Then whats-his-face went home.
I really didn’t care about this episode.
It seemed to follow the trend I’ve noticed[1]. None of the players that get the most talk about voting for go home. It’s always one of the others.
Obviously an editing choice, but it kind of is anti-suspense for me. All that talk of voting out Rizo and Soph means they’re safe.
I can’t imagine I’m the first, it has just been a bit in my face this season and last. Probably because these are the only ones I’ve paid attention. ↩︎
I got fooled by the editors this week. There were at least two players who got confessionals where they boasted about how well their strategies were going and how they were secretly in charge of everything. “Normally” that is something the editors put into the episode where they get eliminated, for the irony of it.
This time none of them went!

Savannah totally has mean girl energy.
Seriously! All that talk about “forcing Rizo to use his idol”, and then he sails through the TC with the idol still in his pocket.
“Saving blackheads in a jar” may be the most disgusting thing I’ve ever heard. And I don’t want to even think about what she’s saving them for. 
If they aren’t going to vote Rizzo out, I don’t get why they aren’t trying to at least make him nervous enough to play his idol. Just go to him and say “hey, I’m not voting for you but I’m not sure we have enough votes.”
