Survivor 50 - All Stars

WOW, what another great episode! They are still doing amazing on their editing and storytelling.

  1. I was blindsided by the Q eviction! Didn’t see it coming at all. I thought for sure it was Angelina.
  2. My respect for Mike White climbs. I’m pretty sure he engineered the whole thing.
  3. I’m really surprised that Christian did so bad on the directing-people thing. I would have thought that he’d be clear and concise.
  4. Oh, Emily… damn, girl, that was a messup of huge proportions. You never give information for free!
  5. I can go another 50 seasons without seeing Jeff rap again.

Loved this episode!

He definitely talks the way he’d like to hear it and not the way everyone else would. Like when they were doing the ball maze, and he told Ozzy to watch out for the “parallax”.

On the three person reward challenge he was way way faster than Coach or the other guy, but coach just stole the widjet.

Not blindsided here, I though he was a possible maybe, but to see it being nigh unanimous was a surprise.

Yeah, she just couldnt shut up.

I just got caught up after a couple weeks, and wanted to get a comment in before the next episode airs.

In short, I was happy with the outcomes of both of the last two TCs.

I made my feelings about Savannah clear in last season’s thread, and they haven’t changed. No need to re-hash, except to say I’m very pleased she got booted pre-jury and I don’t have to even look at her again.

I kind of remembered having mixed feelings about Q during his previous appearances, but I’d forgotten how abrasive and annoying he could be. Won’t miss him either.

As for Emily, she let her emotions dictate her gameplay the first time out. But she had something of an epiphany about that, as well as how she was coming across to others. Her journey was an interesting one. We’re going to see how much she learned from that experience and whether she has more self-reflection in her.

I still find Rizo somewhat entertaining. He has no idea how far in over his head he is, though. He led a bunch of idiots around by the nose last season; that’s not going to happen here. I’d love to see him gain some self-awareness as well, but I’m not holding my breath.

I was also confused by Christian and Rick’s idol scheme. I think it’s the case that they planted it there for themselves to retrieve and engage in a bit of play-acting, but I’m still unclear to what end.

All-star seasons can be a mixed blessing, but I’m enjoying this one so far. Interesting personalities and good gameplay!

What I got from it was that they planted the fake idol so that if they found themselves at tribal council and in trouble, they could “discover” it publicly to try and scare away votes.

Wow. Has there ever been a Survivor episode that wasted more time? It felt like that country singer guy (sorry, don’t know his name) was given almost an entire third of the screen time. We see him raving over how much he loved Survivor, how much some of the players loved his music, then we watch him spear fishing for a while, then he cooks the fish while the players again tell him how much they admire him/his music, then long shots of them eating the food, then they let him perform two whole songs while the players sit there inert… absolutely no game talk, no scheming, nothing at all that advanced the game!

Heck, they apparently couldn’t even be bothered to hide a Hidden Idol!

Did nothing at all else happen related to the game over those days that they could have shown us?

I can only watch this show recorded after it airs so I can FF through crap like that. If I were to watch as it aired it would be unbearable.

Yep. Survivor is always “recorded and watched later.” The way a two-hour episode takes about 30 minutes.

Huge waste of an episode.

Yeah, I agree. The suprise guest star was boring.

  1. Mike White out? Because of Christian? Never would have guessed that in a million years. But damn, if he didn’t do a good dissection of the 3-2-1 voting.
  2. I think Christian shot himself in the foot. The Wrath of Ozzy is a known entity, and I think he may regret it.
  3. Emily? Dear? Please take a moment to listen to yourself before speaking. I hope she’s doing it intentionally, because if she’s divulging so much information unthinkingly, its a bad thing.
  4. Johnathan versus boat. Boat never had a chance.
  5. Yay! Rizzo has an Idol! I can’t wait to see if it works for him this year.

Much as I love me some Mike White, that was a really fun vote. After MTV Unplugged ended, things got good.
Mike got overconfident, but not nearly as cocky as others have been in the past. Goes to show what a cutthroat game this is and will continue to be, and I’m here for it.

Maybe. But nobody is as scared of Ozzy as they used to be. And he’s already been a target. Having Ozzy mad at him could actually work to Christian’s advantage.

This could indeed be fun. We’ll see how well he adapts to playing with competent competitors. See my “cutthroat” comment above.

Yep. Especially when the second place team kept mentioning his name. Dalton Ross said-

Man, that was a lot of Zac Brown. I mean a lot of Zac Brown.

Ozzy was right- voting out Q so early was a bad move, we saw that in the challenge, where they couldnt even finish.

The Rizo impersonation was really bad, the stunt men should have got the no-prize.

I thought the idea was to give it to him, vote him out then get it back. I’m not a fan of Rizzo so I hope that plays out.

I don’t know what Christian is thinking. Mike told him that Emily would fuck him, she did (right in front of him!) and he still voted for Mike. Mike was hurt, he and Christian haven’t spoken since that episode.

I actually didn’t mind the Zac stuff. I’m not familiar with his music but he seems like a decent enough guy and the players seemed to enjoy him.

If Ozzy plays like he used to, there’s nothing stopping him. I have faith that the tree-climbing Ozzy will make an appearance. As long as they don’t lose next week, and he gets to get back with a decent physical tribe, I have hope.

I think rizzo will use the idol properly, this time. Then again, he hasn’t had much time to contemplate the game, since its only been two weeks.

The trouble is these days you rarely know you are being targeted. It’s hard to play it “properly” if everyone has convinced you you are safe. Historically, idols have about a 50% success rate, but recently the unused rate has gone up. In season 46 for example, 5 people got voted out with an idol in their pocket.

Mike was openly trying to manipulate Christian with the Gabby comment. Also, Christian and Mike were never in an alliance together, it’s not like he betrayed him.

Yes, he was trying to manipulate him but he was right.

Was he? Emily told Ozzy she was being targeted but didn’t give away the plan to take out Mike.

I was poking around on Kalshi today for the first time – I was looking for political tendencies but clicked on the “Culture” tab, and was surprised to see that there’s an overwhelming choice for the winner of Survivor 50. I won’t mention it here. But I wonder if the results have leaked.

I like Mike White and he handled being ousted like a champ.

I just want Colby, Ozzy, Coach, Cirie, Stephanie, Rizo, and a few others to go deep.
