Yeah that was pretty impressive and with a bunch of veteran players. Probably my favorite moment in the season.
I agree …both with Rick’s plot and play and the most annoying player being gone.
A well earned twofer. Enjoying this season tho most everyone is aging. I followed early on including S1 then filled all the missing ones in earlier this year. S48 was not enjoyable for mw and skipped 49 but might go back to it.
Meanwhile …also rooting for Rob I think the twists are fun.

Rob?
Cirie, Stephenie, Emily, Aubrey, Tiffany, Ozzie, Rick Devens, Rizzo, Christian, Joe and Jonathan are left.
I don’t see a “Rob”
Just wait until Jeff introduces the “Boston Rob Planetary Alignment” twist.
I agree a wonderful episode. And the editing didn’t trick-fuck us! Were the normal editors out sick, ha ha.
I’d say perfectly. With all that was going on, no one clocked that aspect. That was so fucking brilliant. I kept asking my wife, how is he going justify finding that. Well played, sir, well played. And it got rid of coach. I was standing up and cheering.
Speaking of…
Soon as Mr. Honesty took Tiff aside by the boat, I told my wife ‘here comes the lies’. He didn’t disappoint.
Irrelevant, we saw coach say he would never write down Colby’s name. And Coach never lies.
I wondered the same thing last night. Probably not many. He’s full of shit regardless.
I said almost the same thing while we were watching… though not as eloquently.
Now that’s funny.
Again, another well-edited episode. Kept me watching through all of it.
- LOVED seeing the fallout from Devins. But why the hell was he talking with Emily? She cant’ keep a damn secret!
- Cirie is just amazing. The whole time. But damn… Questioning her cooking skills? Emily is going next ;).
- The twist was interesting. Could have played out well. But I think Christian got in his own way on this, and was thinking too much about the puzzle.
- The Jeff stuff. First, it was fantastic to see him play a game. But darn, did the flashbacks make me feel old. I’d forgotton how young Jeff looked in season 1.. or 2… :)’
- I really had hope at the vote. But I should have known better.
Again, another well-done episode, even if I’m very sad about Christian being out.
I think Devins is next.
Loved Christian. Hope he plays again.
Adored Jeff playing the game, even more so when he realized he would lose. Loved them calling out to him from the sidelines! “Dig deep, Jeff!”
Man, I was really pulling for Christian. He’s such a hoot.
I started out liking him, but then for some reason he turned on several of the more popular players- like Ozzie- for no explainable reason. A smart player doesnt announce plans to take out someone, they go along or try to steer other plans.
Jeff did outlast what- four players?
But this episode, she didnt spill that secret- of course she likely will next show.
Hmm.. maybe. There was a suspicious comment from Cirie about Rick’s “supposed idol”. Either she is really good at smelling a rat (which she is, of course) or rumors are already spreading about the validity of that idol.
The punishment for losing that challenge was way worse than just about anything I can think of on this show. I understand why Christian was so upset about it (beyond the fact that he lost doing a puzzle).
I understand you have to have some real risk attached to going on a journey and failing, but that was a quadruple whammy: you lose your vote, you gain a vote against you, your name is suddenly mentioned publicly, and you lose your shot in the dark. Oof. It would have been much more balanced if it was private - everything exactly the same except if you lose you have to write your own name on the paper, but you don’t have to tell anybody about it.
Once he lost the journey challenge Christian really needed to sacrifice Rick by talking up the need to force him to play his idol. Live to fight another day. Targeting Ozzy seemed like a very long shot, and one likely to backfire. And if he thought for one second he was buying any trust from Jonathan by giving him a worthless SitD then he deserved to get voted out.
But you get to go on Fallon and yell at him. I haven’t watched this, so I don’t know how much yelling actually happens.
I liked the episode overall. I’m glad they brought back the auction and I’ve always greatly preferred it to the eating gross stuff challenge. I was disappointed to see them combine the two.
Voting out Steph was the right move. She doesn’t seem very well liked and she’s good at challenges. I’m a little surprised that she was basically unanimously voted out.
Holy crud, but this was a fantastic episode!
- Great resolution to the Christian vote.
- The auction? Done so very well. But they should have know to ask for the Chaos option to go along with the letters. And come on - its been 19 day. Back when letters came out at 28 days, it was a bit more realistic. But 19 days? Bah.
- Mr. Beast challenge - Done very well. He didn’t interfere with the speed of the game, the ominous threat of the Beware advantage was great, and the resolution at Tribal was really, really fun.
- Devins? Chaos lord. Pure chaos. And he had a great time doing it.
- The moment Cirie’s name left Stephenie’s lips, she was done for. You don’t go for the Queen!
- Devin’s honesty at Tribal was damn perfect. And it was great!
Loved this episode. The editing was fantastic, and the flow was superb!
Eating gross stuff has always been part of the auction, but it was only twice this time, and not that gross- I have eaten grubs myself.
I had one issue, and I don’t know how they could really have solved it. When the coin flip was about to happen with 20 minutes left in the episode, I knew it was going to be the positive result, which drained the suspense. If it had been the negative result, then no vote, and roll credits with a brief interview with Devins, like after any other tribal council.
I restrained myself from checking how much time was left on the DVR recording to avoid that exact spoiler.
If someone were watching in real time, including sitting through commercials like a caveman, there would be no way to avoid a time spoiler like that.
The trick is not to check your watch.
Same here. As soon as they went to tribal, I avoided the remaining time countdown so as to not spoil it. The anticipation was just wonderful ![]()
That’s not the way I remember the early season auctions but I won’t fight you for it lest I end up having to eat balut.
Yeah, I knew before I looked exactly what it would tell me, but sometimes non-TV related things are time sensitive…
I didn’t mention it to the other people I was watching with until after Devins won. Then I could give the kid a 15 minutes until we go home wrap-it-up warning.
Just in case my memory played tricks on me (it often does), I checked- The first Survivor auction took place in Season 2: The Australian Outback. Amber bought the first “mystery item” which was a glass of (undrinkable)river water. So, not that gross, but not a treat at all. Someone else won a coconut (which they had plenty of anyway).
Incidentally I had no freaken idea who this “mrbeast” is or was. I mean there are 1000s of better known celebrities.
I did not care for the coin flip idea, either.
