Survivor Blood v Water season thread

Man, Brad just can’t let up for a second, even on his way out. Football jock out-played by gay fiancé. Then he has to go and spend the night with Candace and hen-pecked husband. Sorry Brad, you’re just not very smart.

That was a brilliant move, Caleb. Good luck, but I doubt you’ll last very long after the merge.

Boring…boring…boring

I didn’t even watch it last night, and to tell you the truth, I didn’t miss watching it. I’m not very invested in this cast for some odd reason.

I dunno…maybe Survivor has jumped the shark but doesn’t want to admit it.

Yeah, it was kind of a dull episode.

‘Hey everybody! Tree mail! It says: “Fleet of foot, from toe to heel/A leap of faith, this time for real/With Mister Teeth you cannot deal/If you fail, you’ll be a meal!” Hm. I guess we’ll be running and jumping?’

I do kind of wonder how many times someone in the middle of a challenge has shouted, “SHUT UP, PROBST!” and it’s been edited out…

Eh, I thought it was a typical, pre-merge middle episode. Those don’t tend to be all that interesting except when they are.

The weird moment was when Aras complemented Caleb for having such great skin. Has a guy ever said that to another guy, ever?

You can certainly hear hear me shouting that at the TV.

Vytas.

You can be forgiven. They are kind of interchangeable.

Was happy to see a loved ones win for once. Previews hint at a mix-up of tribes next week. Interested to see how that shakes out. Four no longer have a loved one. With two more having them on RI. If they all end up on one tribe is that an advantage or not?

Well, hell. I wasn’t sure which was which, so I looked on the Survivor cast page, which has the names flipped compared to their picture.

It’s funny how everyone forgets about Aras, despite the fact that he actually won! Then again, I only remember him because one of the posters here was his friend and gave us interesting details about watching the show with him.

She was kinda bitchy, but I will miss Candace and her cute butt. Also was nice to see the Newbies win one. Very interesting to see how the Veteran players will always be so willing to make big moves early on… I really thought Boneham was going home (well, okay, to stupid RI).

I don’t know what it is, but I’m a little repelled by Aras. Perhaps his weird way of pursing his lips all the time, as if Karl Urban’s McCoy had bit into a lemon. Maybe he’ll grow on me as we see more of him, but for some reason I want to slap that guy when he comes onscreen.

Once again, the producers have cast an entire tribe of veterans against a cast of complete newbies, and surprise! they are dominated by the returning tribes. If they were going to do this, I don’t understand why they wouldn’t have paired up 5 returning players with 5 veterans, with their loved ones on the opposite team. IT would have been so much fairer, and more interesting, too.

Ah well.

I hate when teams who are losing end up taking out strong players. Seems so counter-intuitive. Voting out Jurvis’ niece over Katie or Ciera was the first stupid move, and it’s been downhill since.

That would have been a fairly easy and good idea. Heck, they could’ve even done a schoolyard pick’em style selection on the beach, just with the rule “you can’t pick the loved one of someone on your team.”

Simpler still: Pick anyone left, they come to your team and their loved one goes to the other team.

Simplest addition to keep from getting more than 5 vets or 5 newbs. Each time you pick, you must alternate between picking a vet or a newb.

That wouldn’t prevent a pair of loved ones from being on the same tribe.

How does this not end with the veterans just voting out the loved ones?

The producers stacked the muscle on the loved ones tribe to make up for their lack of experience–there was no excuse for them to blow all these leads.

In fairness, the loved ones with all their muscle utterly dominated the muscle portion of competitions, earning a big lead going into the puzzle each time. The vets stole the show with their amazing puzzle prowess.

EDIT: The muscle also facerolled the vets in the sumo competition, but their girls then lost it for them. That’s pretty rough for those girls, singlehandedly losing both puzzle and physical competitions.
