Where’s the thread for this week’s episode?
I couldn’t find one …maybe we should have a season one?
The Newbies have a knack for not only losing every Elimination Challenge, but also voting off the players that might give them a chance to win one.
If the next few challenges aren’t something along the lines of Meditative Basket Weaving, they’ll evaporate before the merge.
I did like to see Culpepper end up on RI. Howdy, neighbor!
In a sense, the real flipper was Vytas. Caleb had only the girls and it was a three-three and then a two-two split before Vytas wrote Brad’s name down.
Regardless, I don’t think anyone specific will be a target. Caleb will fall back in with Vytas and the other guy and they’ll vote out the girls if they have to.
Any speculation on whether Monica will take Brad’s place in Redemption Island?
Too late. “Before you hit me I’m waving the white flag.”
I think Brad will tell her not to. But It would be fun to see him on the Vets tribe. Monica would never last against Candice and Brad.
I wonder if Jeff would have said something if Brad had started coaching Candice on her puzzle after he had won.
That TC was a thing of beauty. Kudos to Caleb.
I don’t hate Brad (which is not to say I like him), but he was playing the game way too recklessly and Caleb played it spectacularly. And the way the tribe was headed (vote out the ones who didn’t have loved ones), he had nothing to lose.
I was very skeptical that this season would be any good, but so far I think it’s been terrific.
I’m seeing Tyson and Gervaise making the Final 4 and one of them winning it all.
I was optimistic without any particularly valid reason to be and I haven’t been disappointed. The new strategies and tactics introduced by this twist have been a refreshing change of pace.
What, no commentary on Candice’s pathetic display of the juvenile tantrum with a side of vile nastiiness?
This is her third season of survivor yet she still acts like she has no idea how the game is played. Did she really think that shooting birds, F-bombs and empty accusations at Brad, a stranger to her, was excellent strategy? Her husband did not seem impressed. Challenge Brad to a staring contest? Really? And then call him a child after her idiotic fit?
Her biography is surely impressive, but lurking inside her is a stupid bitch that likes to jump out and frolic. And she’s going to be a doctor? Creepy, man.
Brad’s mistake was playing a post merge strategy premerge. Once he turned on his alliance trust was gone. Caleb saw the writing on the wall. And Vytas felt unsecure enough to back his move. Even Hayden was wavering. Luckily for him Brad went home. He took so long voting Brad had to notice.
I still think Candace should’ve been on the Villains tribe. I do like her as a player, but yeah, she’s a villain.
Not surprised that Brad’s strategy fell apart - he took the leadership role too soon, and too strongly. Reminds me of ace pilot Hunter all the way back in Season 4.
Probst had a good rundown of the TC here, and I think it’s a good read because there’s an important part they left off TV:
I don’t blame Vytas in the slightest for effectively saying “fuck rocks.”
Would the mods kindly make this a Survivor Blood v Water season thread?
Done.
Agreed.
I liked Brad at first, but he was turning into a real jerk. But the way she was overreacting to him was over the top. It did seem like she was a first time player, and an immature one at that.
I can only assume it’s because she’s been away from the tribes for a while and has been just stewing in anger and she let it get the best of her.
Brad made one of the dumbest moves in Survivor history when he admitted to considering a strategy of sending people without loved ones home. It was almost like committing suicide.
Wow. Were you already doing it? Or did you see me report the post first?
That was some ninja moderating, right there.
What a world, where we can’t get Caleb to take his shirt off and we can’t get Iggy Pop to put his back on. It figures that an actual cute gay cub gets on Survivor and he’s more modest than a Mormon housewife.
Cheers!
I’m actually a fan of Brad’s as a person, or at least as a person I’ve seen on the show. Yes he played poorly and rubbed a lot of people the wrong way. Even so much as to elicit anger and verbal assault. And he did nothing to try to repair it, but he is playing a game, and I get the sense that it is a game to him and he doesn’t take it too personally. Which is commendable. I also liked how he approached RI with 2 people who obviously hate him. I can’t imagine some of the more villainous players trying to be nice. There was a quick shot of him standing outside the hut and Candace and John standing insides on the other side of the hut hashing everything out. I take from that image the idea of people trying to manage their conflict. Even if it’s an act, he is self aware.
*not sure if I’m trying to convince you or myself
He probably won’t let Monica take his place, and he’ll probably send Candace off (He and John are too strong at challenges)
The RI challenges are never very dependent on physical strength. They usually involve balance, dexterity, and puzzle-solving. I’d be surprised if Brad is able to beat Candace.
