Survivor: Cambodia 11/25: Episodes 10 & 11 [NO SPOILERS PLEASE]

Just wanna say I am hoping Abi wins, long shot for sure, but I like her. Keith is my 2nd fav.

Didn’t like Jeremy’s use of the HII to save Fishbach. No one seems to be gunning for him, people weren’t going after Fishbach because he was attached to Jeremy; they were going after him because he’s perceived as a smart guy AND everyone knew he had an advantage (unlike Jeremy’s unknown HIIs). He’s still got one in his back pocket, but I’d much rather have two. Two HIIs is huge in a game when people aren’t looking your way.

Fishbach’s been a little all over the place all season, and it finally showed up and bit him in the butt. Now, it was the end of a 2 hour run so my attention span may have been waning, but I found the logic on the vote splitting hard to follow. They all seemed worried Joe had an Idol… I’d love to see the numbers over the years of how often vote-splitting because of HIIs has worked vs blown up.

Also, Keith voted with the two remaining witches and Spencer, who flipped on purpose. When did Keith get pulled in to that vote? I suppose I’m having trouble figuring out who he’s aligned with - is he just basically a free agent? Speaking of Keith, it was great that he finally got some airtime. I was worried he was going to get the axe. This season definitely has been squandering Keith.

Really happy Wentworth got another Idol… she’s my dark horse favorite, though I’m still rooting for Spencer and Jeremy, who seem to be in the running to win. Things can change in a hurry though of course.

We’ve reached the point in the season where it’s clear everyone is playing hard (except Kimmi). Should be fun.

Oh, yes. Much agree… one of my favorite types of challenges. Just disappointed we didn’t get to see everyone’s answers (especially the one Spencer got wrong!)

Depends on the person. Some people get more crazy the more starved they are. Others just shut down. Sometimes it makes for better TV, sometimes it doesn’t - I do agree though that I’m sure there are times the food aspect just contributes to the “follow the leader” mentality that plagues boring seasons.

I don’t think I have a single Jewish friend who keeps Kosher.

I don’t think you have to call her your “dark horse favorite”. I’m guessing she is the favorite of a great many people. I can admit that she is my favorite too.

I don’t think she has much of a chance to win the million dollars. That is not what I mean. The reason she is my favorite is because aside from being beautiful, she is also sensible as well as a little Kooky to boot.

How about Spencer opening one of the pots holding clues so that the idiot Abi grabbed the wrong one? As soon as she ran off, he grabbed the correct answer, instant classic.

Don’t forget Keith. He’s one of the best coasters to ever play the game.

Yes, that was comedy gold. I generally don’t care much for Spencer, but that raised him up notch or two.

As is our habit in watching Survivor, Zoe and I pick our “winners” after the first episode’s loser goes away. She picked Joe and I picked Keith. So far, so good for our picks!

Aside from those two, I wouldn’t mind seeing Tasha or Jeremy win it. All of my “least favorites” have been booted so far. I’ve warmed a little to Abi, but it’s time for her to go!

I believe that was Fishback, not Spencer.

It was Spencer, I thought it was a great move.

He’s won challenges and was the only one who gave the Golden Boy a run for his money. He’s not a “coaster”.

He’s not been that good at challenges this time around, and he’s a complete follower in terms of setting strategy. He never, ever initiates the strategy of whom to vote out next. Never. He just does what the other folks tell him to do. I’d say that qualifies as a coaster.

The only one to give Joe a run for his money??? Are you even watching the shows? The one we are discussing right now is where Spencer won the IC, not Joe. Spencer is the only one to actually beat Joe so far. Keith has not won any individual challenges this season. What a person did in previous seasons is irrelevant.

Give him credit for sticking with a plan.

Keith found himself on the outside with Spencer, Joe and the witches.

For a while now they’ve been pushing the “voting block” stuff. Voting block. Voting block. Voting block. GAH! I surely hope I never hear another contestant say “voting block.”

Anyway, after the failed blindside last week, Fishback freaked out and bailed on the voting blocks, solidifying his tight alliance of four: Fishback, Jeremy, Tasha, and Kimmie. (He then proceeded to immediately alienate Kimmie by leaving her out of the reward, but whatever.)

What Fishback failed to realize is that the dopey voting block thing prevented anyone from feeling left out, or at least mitigated that kind of feeling. Once he coalesced his alliance, everyone else was aware they were on the outside.

“Everyone else” voted unanimously to get rid of Fishback.

Looks like Survivor may want to go back to clip shows for the holidays, as this new strategy of filling Thanksgiving eve with back-to-back interesting episodes failed miserably, netting the worst ratings the show has ever posted.

No, it was Fishbach.

Yes it was. I just re-watched that portion.

Was it Fish? Great move.

Yep, it was definitely Fishbach. Totally awesome. It’s little moments like this that make this show so great, I think.

Well, I correctly predicted one of the boots in last week’s thread, but I was completely wrong about these two episodes being boring. They actually turned out to be two of the best episodes of the season, IMHO. (I don’t lend much credence to the article posted above talking about the low ratings for that night. *Everybody *got low ratings that night, due to the holiday. Survivor still consistently wins in its timeslot, and it’s cheap to produce. People have been predicting the demise of the show almost since the beginning. I’m not worried.)

So much to talk about.

I really liked Tasha in Cagayan, but she’s working on my last nerve this go around. What was all of that about how she chose the “unselfish” choice and how she just couldn’t live with herself if she had chosen the “selfish” option. So sanctimonious. Of course Joe chose to play. He was 100% certain that if he didn’t win immunity, he’d be immediately voted out. It was easy for her to choose a white rock, seeing as how she wasn’t likely to win even if she did play. They had two completely different decisions to make.

And then at the second TC, going on about how it was time for alliances to solidify and to lock things in with your allies. Just dumb, dumb, dumb. All that accomplished was to solidify in the waverers’ minds (Spencer, Keith, and Abi) that there was a strong alliance of four, and that they weren’t a part of it. Why wouldn’t they flip loyalties at that point?

And oh, Abi. The crazy is back. I don’t really like her, but that scene with Spencer trying to wrangle her was just priceless. “What’s going on Abi?” “I don’t know, what’s going on?” “The plan. The PLAN is what’s going on. You’re still with us, right?” “Okay.” “Because you seem like you’re upset.” “YOU seem upset. What’s wrong with you? What do you want from me?”

Only crazier and more frustrating.

Poor Spencer. He operates on logic and Abi is pure emotion, resentment and paranoia. I’m proud of him for not pulling his hair out after that conversation.

Big night for Spencer, my fav. As he should, he’s been laying low the past few votes, just biding his time. And tonight he acted with huge success. I think his timing is just right, and as long as he targets Jeremy next, and doesn’t just try to replace Stephen as his #2, he’s in a very strong position, I think. Assuming they eliminate Jeremy and Tasha next, the only one in the remaining players who are a real threat to him is Wentworth, I think. Possibly Joe, but I think Spencer could win a Final TC against Joe. Joe is a challenge monster, and people like him, but he has not a strategic bone in his body. Spencer does very well in the challenges, people like him, and he’s really a strategic mastermind. I think the players on this particular jury will have huge respect for that (with the notable exceptions of Savage and Wiggles.)

Jeremy came out of tonight a major loser. Wasted one of his idols, lost Spencer and Keith as allies/shields, and lost his most trusted friend in Stephen. Last week he looked like he had a smooth ride to the finals, now I think he’ll be lucky to get there. And it’s weird about Jeremy…it feels like I should like him. He’s not offensive in any way. He plays hard. He’s a nice guy. I should be rooting for him. But…I’m just not. I don’t hate him, but I don’t want him to win, either, and I’m not sure why. He’s just kind of blah, I guess.

And finally, adios Stephen. I really like Stephen…I identify with him as a socially awkward nerd-type. But, he played an awful game. So many big mistakes, he’s lucky he made it this far. I think he played the game he wanted to play, though, with (attempted) big moves and so kudos for him. He should be an interesting juror, I think.

Can’t wait for next week! I’m through trying to guess what’s going to happen, though…this season is just impossible to predict, and I love it!

Spencer better win immunity next week, or he’s out. I doubt the folks will think Jeremy had 2 idols. And I guess he doesn’t get a boost up, IMO!!
