When Jeff asked NaOinka what he should do with her torch, one of the posters at TWoP wished she said {paraphrasing} “You could stick it up your ass for all I care, Jeff”
And I can totally see NaOinka saying that. Of course, it would have been edited out, but it would have been hilarious.
“I’m a Strong Black Woman. I grew up in the ghetto. I ain’t scared of nothing, everyone here is intimidated by me… ew rain!! OMG I’m wet, get me out of here! No one said there’d be *water *in a rain forest!”
Oh, and I just remembered something I was wondering during the show. The preview at the end of the last episode showed one of the guys (Dan maybe?) yelling about something NaOnka did, saying that “a guy would never get away with doing that.” What was it she did? I didn’t see that scene.
Every episode just makes me wonder more and more how Naonka is allowed to work with children. What a crazy person. She can’t think past five minutes into the future, is incredibly self-centered, is a thief, can’t admit her mistakes… sheesh. There’s always the edit to take into consideration, but she might well be the Worst Survivor ever. At least Russell had ambition and did most of his moves purely for strategic reasons.
(In trying to find out where she was a teacher, I noticed her bio on the CBS site says her claim to fame is “not having any kids by 27!”. Aarghghghgaghgh)
Agreed that they shouldn’t be allowed to be on the jury. Hopefully their votes won’t decide the outcome. I really feel bad for Marty and Brenda. It’s too bad the jury can’t talk, I would’ve raised my hand and asked to come back in the game.
I also wonder what they would’ve done had neither player decided to quit. Held a challenge right then and there?
Well, last episode was the clip show, so was it something in that episode? I didn’t watch the clip show so I’m not sure.
People keep the necklace until the next tribal challenge. She won the last challenge (the ropes over water one). Not sure why she was wearing it though. (Maybe she just figured it was an easier way to carry it)
My thought was that if both the girls decided to stay they would have been told to vote someone out (of all the remaining contestants) at that moment. If that was the case then I would further guess that the immunity necklace would be in play and they could not vote for Jane.
Like many others, I don’t think they should be on the jury. They quit the game, right? If you quit, you shouldn’t be able to continue to play in any form.
Ladies and gentlemen, I give you America’s Educators!
Yeah, it was from the clip show. It was still in regards to her hiding the food. I believe it was particularly in reference to when she agreed to go get the flour and then had trouble finding it because she forgot where she buried it
I believe she’s an “educator” at the Y (or some similar athletic facility) and not in a regular school. It was in the fine print in her biography on some website, so it may be bogus info.
Naonka: What a despicable human being. Yes, one has to adjust for reality show editing, but that’s what I’m going on.
She’s like pure id. Her only motivation, the Greatest Good, is what feels good for Naonka right now. And with no sense of shame whatsoever – any attempt to point out that she’s a lying thieving bitch is just met with defiance.
And she has the brass balls to play the race card? “I come from a long line of proud black women”? Uh…how proud do you think they are of you right now, honey? They’re hastily disavowing all knowledge of you. “Uh, nope, never saw her. She might be some distant relative, but I doubt it. Poor child…I wonder who her mother is.”
It has to be an act - she’s really just angling for a call-back, for Heroes vs Villains II, right?
My DVR blipped, and I only caught the tribal council. Any chance it was an emergency TC a day or two before the real one would have been scheduled (thus no immunity challenge)?
According to Jeff’s blog on EW, Naonka and Kelly will be allowed on the jury (per the precedent set by Janu). Bogus - Survivor seems to evolve the rules constantly to hone what works and what doesn’t work. Quitters should not be able to decide the fates of non quitters.
This has been a boring, horrible cast. A lousy season. It is now unsalvagable. I haven’t missed an episode of Survivor since season 1 but I’m seriously considering bailing til next season.
That is my understanding - makes more sense when you consider that the reward challenge winners arrived separately from the others.
I’m guessing the two announced they were quitting, and since two quitters would have terribly mucked up the episode count they hosted an impromptu TC just for the “will they/won’t they” talk. Had they both stayed, there would have then been an IC and another TC, all in this episode.
I also read somewhere that quitters and injuries is why the casts are so big right now, and then also why they sometimes have to do double eliminations - it’s all about getting the right number of episodes.
Oh, and I totally agree about the casting - casting calls for attractiveness and diversity tend to lead to boring and/or bad players. If a diverse group wants to be on the show, great. If not, just give me folks that are playing hard.
I also haven’t been watching every episode - I came in a few episodes before the merge. What’s everyone’s impression of Fabio? He seemed like a total loser at first (my first episode was the “chess grandmaster” one), but he seems to have really evolved as a player. His comments at TC last night were really pretty good.
Some of the out-takes and talking head interviews seem to indicate he kinda played up the dummy angle (basically a “don’t worry about stupid ol’ Jud” strategy). He seems a pretty solid immunity challenge threat (especially since Chase hasn’t seemed nearly as strong as he looks).
Right now he’s looking in a bad spot though, since the 4-person alliance (Sash, Chase, Holly, Jane) has two idols and seems relatively tight (save Sash). He really needs to convince Sash to come with him, Benry, and Dan, but I’m not sure how that happens. Previews show a lot of things being thrown around next week, which makes sense at 4-3 with two idols loose.
I guess we can blame Purple Kelly and NaOinka for the clip show last week. If they hadn’t quit, there probably would have been a real episode where someone was eliminated.
I have talked about her with others at my school(I’m a teacher). We think in our district, she might be put on suspension for her behavior on television.
Not sure if she technically has done anything suspension worthy, but close.
I am utterly convinced that Jenna Morasca’s family got word to the producers that her mother was fading fast, and that they should let her know & pull her from the show. The whole bit with her “quitting” was completely staged. There’s no way Survivor would want the bad press of a player’s mother dying while the show was filming, and the crew preventing the player from being told and leaving in time to see her.
They do a clip show every season though, regardless of whether or not anyone quits. And the fall one was generally on Thanksgiving.
