Survivor May 7

Bye, Tasha – after that run of immunity challenge wins, not exactly a surprise you’d be targeted the second you were vulnerable again.

Whoa, Kass is getting as paranoid as Tony is. She may be right about Tony being unpopular at a final three – not sure she’d get a lot more votes, though. Chaos looks like chaos, not like good strategic play.

Boy is Woo a shitty liar.

Kind of obvious episode - the directors tried really hard to make a believable alternative, but it didn’t make sense to anyone other than Spencer/Tasha to go along with it.

I think Kass is screwed, but she’s smart enough to realize there are exactly two people she can beat (Trish and Woo - both would likely beat her, but everyone else easily would) and voting out one of them is not helpful to her game. If she thinks she’ll beat Tony she’s probably deluding herself.

Really that final three (as dull as I find it) seems the most likely one. Unless Tony can win the final challenge, in which case the win is almost certainly his. I don’t see a way forward for Spencer other than a massive immunity run.

There’s only 2 more challenges, so it wouldn’t have to be that massive. Typically there is an endurance/balance challenge and a build-something challenge at this late game point, and I think Spencer has a good shot at winning either of those, particularly now that Tasha is gone.

I was surprised with the Tasha vote. If Woo and Kass aren’t turning on Tony now, they’ve decided to go the follower route and will stick with him to the end, hoping the jury hates him more than they respect his play. He’s not nearly as unlikeable as Russel Hantz though, so I’m not sure how that will work out for them. I can see Woo beating Tony straight up based on likability, but not Kass.

I cannot even begin to think how Woo or Trish will try to defend themselves at final tribal, making me think they’re a virtual lock for the final 3. And if either of them wins final immunity, they’ll take Kass over Tony (assuming Spencer is out next week).

The only way Tony doesn’t win this (and I hate Tony FWIW) is if Spencer wins immunity the rest of the way.

Its looking like a final TWO this season since the finale is not next week

It was obvious that Trish was not getting voted out. She had no Talking Heads this episode, and I am not sure she has had any talking heads since she was enamored with LJ because he was from Boston. Plus she is literally getting invisible because she is so thin.

Woo really turned on the charm with the kids at the school. That looks to be his element.

I really like the Immunity Challenge this week.

I find it strange that the Brains (Spencer and Tasha) have won all the immunity challenge after almost striking out all the Team Immunity Challenges. More evidence on how badly J’Tia sucked. I think she might go down as the worst player in Survivor history. And going into this season, that is a high standard.

I’d be really surprised by that. The finale isn’t on a Sunday, either, so there’s likely no extra long episode.

It looks like a regular one-hour episode followed by a two-hour Reunion finale on May 21. So there will be a final four episode, and the final vote is read at the beginning of the Reunion. I confess I’m not sure how or why that works out to a final two, though the Reunion was only one hour in the past (right?). Maybe they’re trying to get more done with the whole cast in response to the uproar last season when the “bit players” got no screen time or questions at the Reunion.

I don’t see that either. Next week gets it down to four, then the usual two hour final episode where hour one gets it down to three and then final Tribal Council and the reunion show.

I really don’t like Tony, but he is the only reason this season has been so good. That said, it could be a really dull and suspenseless last episode if Spencer gets booted.

I was thinking the only people who have any chance to win are Tony, Kass and Spencer. Wasn’t surprised they voted out Tasha - even with her immunity wins she was getting very little camera time. That to me screams that she wasn’t making the final.

I want Tony gone, but I think Kass is probably right that it makes sense to take him to the end as the goat. She probably figures LJ and Jefra won’t vote for him (though my general inclination are that men are more likely to forgive being betrayed), since he blindsided both of them when neither was going after him. Sarah probably won’t vote for him either, so that’s 3 votes right there against him.

I don’t think Woo or Trish have any chance of winning (Woo might’ve been able to win a Woo/Trish/Jefra final 3, but that ship has sailed) unless something crazy happens. I think they both got stuck in the follower rut with no way out. Kass at least has made some moves and can argue she did things independently.

I know Tony has rubbed people the wrong way, but I’m curious - of those who dislike him, do you dislike him more than Kass? Because she’s awful, and I can’t stand her.

Agree Kass is worse than Tony

Last nights Tribal Council was Day 33 according to the hashtag after the last commercial break.

If it is a final 3, then that means there are 6 days left and for 2 eliminations. I just don’t see that happening.

Survivor usually accelerates the eliminations at this time of the season because there is little filler. Even Survivor has to limit the beyotching that Kass does.

No they don’t. There’s the usual one elimination for every hour of television. Two eliminations, let alone the last two eliminations, in one hour is too quick. The final immunity challenge is usually pretty elaborate for the producers to milk into at least one commercial break, maybe even two.

Yes they sometimes do. They have done two eliminations in an hour a few times when no one is evacuated for injury or quits.

Spencer tweeted this last night.

Do we have to choose?
