Tony has an idol that he can’t play, but he may be able to bluff someone with it. If people are thinking straight, they should be gunning for Spencer and Tony. Spencer has no enemies, and he’s lasted way longer in the game than he had any reason to. Tony has enemies, but he has at least played the game hard. Nobody likes Kass, and Woo, although he showed some humanity at a recent reward, is a blank slate to most of the jury, and others will think he rode Tony’s coattails.
That said, Spencer is probably the best of those left at challenges, although Woo could win an endurance challenge which usually happens at final four (three.) It appears that it will be a final two, so this is how I think it will go. Spencer wins the first immunity and they vote Tony out. Next, Woo wins an endurance challenge and he and Kass vote out Spencer. Kass is her usual delusional self in the final TC, which elicits much eye-rolling from the jury box. Woo Keanu Reeves’ his way through the questions and the jury realizes they have to give a million dollars to someone useless. They hold their noses and give all their votes to Woo.
A weak ending to one of the better seasons of Survivor.
I’d like to see Spencer’s sister join him, but I think she was too young. She seemed like a spitfire, though. Spencer is a mortal lock to be on next season, yes?
Based on the narrative presented to us the last few episodes, plus the choice we were given between the final two, I think I had a correct insight earlier in the season:
I agree with Spencer’s opinion that Tony was the only one playing the game. But this whole idea of the ends justifying the means might make future games unreasonably unpredictable.
Can anyone name some other players making the wrong decision like Woo did? (and specifically those who didn’t regret it, like Woo didn’t) The only one I can come up with, without doing any research, is Colby taking Tina to the FTC. IIRC he was ok giving her the million, feeling she deserved it more. Whereas Woo (and I think others) think that people will vote for you for bringing the ‘more deserving’ player.
I said awhile back that Spencer would either win or be the Final 4 sacrifice, as that’s usually the point everyone wisens up and says “wait, this guy will murder us all at the Final TC, gotta get him out.” Spencer made a pretty damn good argument to Tony to keep him though, but Tony made the right move (trusting Woo to make the dumb move).
Woo obviously made a Top 5 Worst Survivor Mistake ever. He and Tony voted together every single time - but Tony was obviously the mastermind, found all the Idols, etc. It would’ve been very difficult to argue against that except for “Tony’s an asshole.” And with these players, I didn’t think we would have a Natalie-over-Hantz style vote - they cared about playing the game, and Woo was a coat-tail rider with nary a thought in his head. And the one time he actually had to make a decision, he proved he had no idea what he was doing. He might’ve actually had more votes had Tony won immunity and taken Woo instead.
And his jury answers were terrible - don’t tell Kass that she didn’t deserve to be there! Was a bit surprised Spencer got to basically argue to the jury on Tony’s behalf. After the first few jury members, I thought Woo might actually make it competitive… obviously Spencer and Kass were gonna be votes for Tony, but it seemed like Sarah, Trisha, Jefra were all pretty pissed at Tony. But Spencer turned it around for him… 8-1, yeowch.
Still don’t understand why everyone hated Kass so much, but according to the jury at the end, Woo would’ve beaten her handily. Ah well. I think she made a good point - she played like a man, but because she has a vagina, she’s bitchy not smart. I personally think she played an awesome game.
Regarding Blood vs Water II: The articles are saying this time it'll be all-new contestants, thank god. I think if you really wanted to make Blood vs Water work, you need:
1) no returning players
2) no Redemption Island
3) a relatively early tribal mixup, to avoid the problem of merging with almost no pairs left
So while we get #1, apparently they will have Redemption Island returning... the drama at the duels is too good to pass up. Boo!
Just looking at final 2s (because final 3s aren’t left up to one person’s vote):
Season 3: Kim J. won immunity, voted out Lex, lost to Ethan 5-2
Season 4: Vecepia made a deal to give the immunity to Neleh if she took her to the final two, Neleh did, and Vecepia won 4-3
Season 7: Lillian won immunity, voted out Jon, lost to Sandra 6-1
Season 8: Boston Rob won immunity, voted out Jenna, lost to Amber 4-3… but also proposed to her before the votes were read, and later married her, so… don’t think he regretted that one.
Season 12: Dani won immunity, voted out Terry, lost to Aras 5-2
Season 16: Amanda won immunity, voted out Cirie, lost to Parvati 5-3
Now, those are just the seasons where someone won the final 3 immunity and ended up losing in the final two… there might well have been situations where the immunity winner made the right choice anyways (I think everyone agreed Cirie would’ve won Season 16, for example). I don’t remember a lot of this seasons in enough detail. Season 7 sounds like a good example though (Jon argued he was a bigger goat, Sandra argued she needed the money for her family).
Kass was fully on board with getting rid of the unbeatable Tony a few episodes ago, until Tasha ruined it all by comparing Tony to Russell Hantz. From that point forward, Kass turned on Tasha/Spencer and decided to keep Tony in the game since she figured she could beat Tony.
It’s tough to explain Kass telling Tony she would take Woo with her to the final 2 during the final 4 tribal council when Spencer openly made his pitch to Tony. Not just in terms of my assertion that Kass would have taken Tony if she won the last IC, but in terms of anything, ever.
Why would Kass ever say that? Did she want Woo gone? Because saying that to Tony in front of the jury could only have the effect (if it had any at all) of convincing Tony to vote out Woo. Why would Kass want Woo gone instead of Spencer at final 4? That’s the one thing I’m sure she didn’t want.
Maybe she said that to solidify her “alliance” with Woo? Woo was sitting right there, after all, and if she openly said she’d take Tony with her to final 2, maybe Woo bails on their secret deal to take each other to final 2.
I could buy that, I suppose. Regardless why she said it, I think Kass believed the jury was going to vote for Spencer over anybody, then Woo over Tony or Kass due to likability, then a toss-up between Kass and Tony due to unlikability. So I think she was firm in the desire to take Tony with her to final 2, and had been for several episodes.
The woman cop who was voted off mentioned that Tony had written 500 negative tweets about her, anyone know what that’s about? I googled, but didn’t find any articles.
