What I was thinking about was also the fact that she was the only oldster who fit in with the youngsters. I’d like to think I could do that, too, being the oldster that I am.
Why does Shannon get (rightfully) criticized for his anti-gay remarks but Sash get’s a pass for his “let’s create an alliance of minorities” plan?
Well I don’t think Sash even spoke one word at the reunion. Maybe once the bribe thing happened they decided not to give him any airtime at all.
I think I’ll make my last post on this one. Sash’s plan was never “I want a minority to win,” it was “I want to win.” He saw a way to get four people together in an alliance, and he took it. It’s no different that an all male alliance or an all female alliance or an all “Southern States” alliance.
I’d like to see a season where they recruit strictly from homeless people and ‘Will Work For Food’ folk. They would be focused on getting to the end, no chance in hell anybody would quit. You have the potential to really make a difference in some peoples’ lives. At the least, the notoriety would land most of them jobs. The people who make it to the money positions at the end have a real opportunity to get back on their feet.
It might be the first time that one of them actually did work for food.
Naw. How about PRISONERS? And they could save money: no need to give the winner a million, just a parole.
I bet we’d see some real back stabbing then. ![]()
Yeah, it was called “The Apprentice.” ![]()
I’d like to see recent grads vs. recently discharged military, let NaOnka try to knock down a guy who lost his leg in Baghdad and see who wins the fight.
Re-watched the finale/reunion this morning because I couldn’t it give it my full attention.

Was Dr. Jill there? If not, why?

I think that there may have been a possibility that Shannon was trying to say something nice to Sash and got cut off by Jeff. I think we all thought that “I met his girlfriend last night.” was going to segue into a really crass comment. However, it’s possible that he was going to say something like, “And she’s a real catch. So good for him.”
Yeah, I know.

I think Marty could have salvaged a bit of his reputation had he said when Jeff asked him if his and Jane’s feelings of bitterness were genuine, “It was a game. We’re not going to be drinking buddies, but I don’t mind Jane.” I mean, what did he have to lose? I also noticed Marty’s grudging clapping for coach Jimmy when Jimmy was enthusiastically relaying how glad he was to be finally picked. Envy is not your friend, Marty.

I was shocked when Brenda said that SHE had betrayed Sash first by trying to oust him when he went off on the ziplining challenge. So he sold her down the river only after Naonka divulged that Brenda had turned on him first. That changes both the notion that she didn’t do ANYthing to try and turn the tide once she learned that she was targeted (in fact, she did try a power play but was betrayed by Naonka) AND explains why Sash didn’t give up his HII to her to save her ass. Editors are very powerful in this show.

Was glad to see Chase tell Marty to go to hell (figuratively) when Marty posed the hostile, “Who wins the ‘Dumber than a Bag of Hammers’ award?” I hate when the finalists resort to butt-licking during the final 3 question period.

I still don’t get what Fabio was trying to say during his post-win interview. I suppose he was nervous, but man did he ramble. And am I really the first one to say that his haircut was horrendous?! I’d have preferred him shaved to that horrible style.

Jane and her NY sewer rat comment…she was really bitter there at the end. What a shame because I liked her until then.
-
Holly sure redeemed herself in the end. She came across as likeable and sincere after that wacky start. And she cleaned up as well as anyone on the show.

How rich IS Dan? I guess we’ll never know!
Yeah, I didn’t want Chase to win, but hell if he didn’t give one of the best final tribal performances in all of Survivor. I don’t want to see people apologize, I want to people stand their ground and tear down all the jury members who clearly won’t vote for them anyway.
She was, but she may as well not have been. She didn’t say anything, Jeff never addressed her, and as far as I recall, was never prominently featured in any camera shot. The same could be said of Yve, Benry, and Tyrone.
Naonka’s mom, though, they had time for…
I grew to like Holly more than just about anybody else by the end. It was as if her early insanity never happened. And yes, she looked surprisingly cute – sexy, even! – at the reunion!
It is different in that it’s more racist. I have no problem at all with an all-gender alliance. In fact, I rather like those. But an all-minority alliance is exactly as unpalatable as an all-white alliance. Your counterexample of an all “Southern States” alliance would border on the same, IMO, if it just happened to be all white.
Also, I believe he said the actual sentence “I want a minority to win.” And then I think he followed it up with something like “I don’t want anyone white to win.” I can’t remember the exact quotes, but this was during his original pitch to Brenda. I may go back and look at some point if this issue gets more traction here.
