Survivor: South Pacific Finale December 18 2011

Airs tonight, folks, from 8-10, with the reunion from 10-11.

Football has a double-header and 60 Minutes has to air, so expect delays for those of us in the Eastern Time zone.

Oh, and Probst has said he will try live-tweeting tonight, even though he has to head right out to the live reveal on time. It could be cool.

Alright, here are my odds for tonight.

Ozzy - 3-1 - As long as he gets the final, he’s pretty much a lock. He’s got four definite votes for him, all he needs is one more.
Coach - 6-1 - He’ll win as long as Ozzy’s not in the final. Even with the most bitter tribal, he still played a great game, and the bitterness shouldn’t be a big factor if he’s up against other Upolu.
Sophie - 10-1 - Here only real hope is if she’s up in the final without Ozzy and Coach. She could get some points bringing up some of the juicy info she’s been privy to (like Coach praying for the idol when he already had it). Otherwise, it’s hard to differentiate herself from Coach
Albert - 20-1 - He played for the jury votes early, but I think the jurors are going to realize they were nothing more than empty promises. Plus, he’s pissed off a lot of people lately.
Brandon - 40-1 - It’s pretty clear Father God does not want him to win.
Rick - 100-1 - Who?

I have a sinking feeling Ozzy won’t be able to stretch his winning streak to the final three. I’m really pulling for Sophie to expose Benjamin’s Christly hypocracy at final and steal the win. Please, Father Og?

I’m expecting Keith, Whitney, and the other guy to just yell at Cochran during the final tribal and ignore the final three.

If Ozzy doesn’t win then the season has been a total joke. Plus, I lose $5 to my wife for picking him in Week 1. The only non-Ozzy I even care about at all is Sophie, and it will depend on who she’s up against if she has any real chance.

And if he does win, it’s still a 90% joke.

Please, please quit with the retreads. This show is still the best Reality Show out there, as long as they don’t get cute. Just keep the new folks coming, and give us some more train wrecks to watch!

No argument here. It seems that all “reality” shows are bent on showing how ridiculous and scorn-worthy anybody who wears their religion on their sleeve is. I can’t recall a single religious type who was given even a modicum of respect. It’s boring to have to endure these phonies.

If Ozzy wins, I’ll be pissed. He got voted out twice. I realize that that is the game now, but as a jury member, I would never vote for someone who spent a huge chunk of their game on RI.

I’m assuming Coach will win, which would be well-deserved. He clearly learned from past mistakes and used his natural charisma to his benefit this time. There’s no one else who has been as strategically rock-solid as him.

Even though editing has sort of shafted her, I am rooting for Sophie and have been since the beginning. She’s smart, she’s funny, and she played a solid game. She would have flourished in a more chaotic season. I would love to see her play again, actually, just to see what she’s actually capable of.

Football is still on and 60 minutes should be starting. :frowning:

Especially since the producers are going to starting reaching for matchups. Rob v. Russell made perfect sense. Ozzy v. Coach made less sense. In a few seasons it’ll be “Two former castaways whose names start with J!”

8 minutes left in the fourth quarter of the football game at 6:00pm central time. 8 minutes of football time will translate into at least half an hour delay.

This time the joke’s on CBS as they’ve painted themselves into a corner by keeping the “live” stuff in the wings while they run the canned stuff. If they had any smarts they’d save the 60 Minutes for later and run the Survivor canned thing as soon as football is over. Wanna bet what they’ll really do?

Pad out what’s left of the hour with commercials? They’re good at that!

Paid programming on CBS on the West Coast right now. Football on Fox and NBC.

That’s just the little area in Oakland’s direct market.

Here in the Midwest, we are watching Meryl Streep on Sixty Minutes at 7:23pm. Survivor and the live reunion show will be broadcast half an hour late.

Oh goodie! YahooTV twitter feed says:

Ozzy is back in; Brandon Hantz loses.

This immunity challenge is nuts.

A good one. And Ozzy wins it.

Whoever designed that challenge is an evil genius.
