Survivor Cook Islands Finale & Reunion, 12/17 [SPOILERS]

…at least there will be spoilers in a couple of hours to look forward to.

I’m rooting for Yul, the Asian Sensation, but could live with Ozzy the Invincible Challenge Monster winning as well.

It’ll be interesting to see how the contestants react when the final big twist–that there’ll be a Final Three instead of Two–is revealed. Frankly, I think it’s dishonest to have concealed that little fact until this late in the game, but the Producers are the Gods of Survivor and they’re capricious.

I just want to remind everyone to check your DVR settings to ensure you don’t miss the reunion show. My Survivor season pass was going to correctly capture the two hour finale, but it was not going to record the reunion show immediately after the finale.

Thanks, Tangent, I know I would be really annoyed if that sort of thing happened to me!

Yay! Adam’s gone! He was the one guy I definitely did NOT want to win.

I’m happy to see Adam gone as well, though his behaviour, along with many of the jury members, is annoying. The high-schoolish eye-rolling is pathetic.

They’ve really been giving the jury way too much leeway with the reactions the last few seasons. I can remember when the jury wasn’t allowed to do much more than smile at anything. And Jenny really does have a sourface, doesn’t she?

What the hell did Nate do to his leg?

Do you suppose this is their way of ending the “car challenge winner not winning the season” “curse”? We’ve had the last immunity challenge and no car has been awarded.

Yay Sundra! Didn’t know she had that in her! So great–not her fault she’s playing against the Immunity Monster.

I must say, if I was told on Day 38 of 39 that the basic rule of a Final Two was instead a Final Three when I’d been strategizing on it for a month, CBS would have to be bleeping away for five minutres straight, and I would have spent my time up on the pole doin’ it some more.

Ozzy is showing some strategizing of his own at last.

Both women should get booted, for extreme lameness. For Chrissake, how can anyone go on Survivor without knowing how to make fire with a flint no less?

Okay, that was the funniest damned thing I’ve ever seen on Survivor. I woke up my dog I was laughing so much.

That was pathetic. Hell, give me a box of matches and half a day and I could make a fire with my feet. I was waiting for Jeff to say “Ok, now the challenge is to see who can chew through the string the fastest.”

what an embarrassment. Half an hour with matches.

…okay. We’re going to flamethrowers…

Becky is incredibly lucky that Ozzy won the immunity necklace. If she’d had to face him instead of Sundra, he’d have had his string burned through before she had her tepee made.

Maybe it was really, really damp…naw, I got nothing.

You know, as “clever” as Becky is, there was a cut-scene video on the site for last episode showing her making fire on the beach when it was just her and Sundra, and she lit it within minutes saying “Hey, my first one!” Not so bright, that, since they’ve had fire-making contests towards the end before.

They’re all just goofing this morning, which is nice to see esp. with Yul.

The reception on my tv is worse than usual–I’m getting more blue screen of doom than anything else, and can’t quite be bothered to walk across the room to try to fix it.

Above is whining, not asking for a recap–we’ve reached the point where I usually start tuning out what they say anyway.

I was kind of impressed by the amount of suspense between the end of the last immunity challenge and the vote at the tribal council. “Do we split our votes, and try for a tie-breaker?” “Will Yul offer up the HII?” “Can Beckie take it and live with herself?”

and then we get Jeff trying to expose whether Yul still had it or had handed it off.

The last immunity challenge took place with better reception than I’ve got now (I think I have tweaked the stupid antenna this evening mid-show). I thought it was delightfully evil the way that they had to keep removing parts of that platform. And kind of funny how the biggest threat to balance was removing parts of the platform–not standing on the itty bitty piece, but bending over and standing back up.

Wow, didn’t think Candice could lower my opinion of her any more, but she justs keeps opening her mouth.

Woot, that was great. Two of the three finalists really deserved it. I would have been happy with either one winning.

I’m glad to see it was such a close vote. The only vote I was sure of was that Jonathan was going to vote for Yul.

YAAAAAY! I luv ya, Yul! Brainy and Sexy can still win in America!

Yay!

Actually, I would’ve “Yayed” for the other one also.

Becky, no votes for you! Hee!
