"Swept Away" was their "Gigli"

I thought Overboard bombed, though I consider it highly watchable. Then again, Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell never got married, so maybe they don’t count.

A domestic gross of $26,712,476 put it in 45th place for 1987. Not a flop, not a blockbuster…just nice little profit for Universal.

I must have been thinking of Swing Shift, which wouldn’t count because they met on the set of that flop. Overboard was their project as a couple.

Swing Shift didn’t bomb, either, I don’t think – I actually liked it quite a bit (at the time – I have no idea how well it would hold up).

$6.65 million is pretty close to “bomb” territory, even for 1984.
