Sword Collectors

Hello to all you sword collectors…I’ve got a dilemma. I’ve been searching for a certain sword for years and can’t seem to find it. The sword I am looking for is a replica of the sword in the movie “The Princess Bride.” For those of you who have seen it, you know what I mean. I would like a replica of the sword who is possessed by the character Inigo Montoya. If any of yall might know where I could procure one I would really appreciate knowing where.

Thanks,

Omega007

For the record, that type of sword is known as a “rapier”.

Hi, Omega.

I collect bladed weapons, although I certainly don’t call myself a serious collector.

But I thought some suggestions might help you.

I’ve never seen an exact or authorized replica of Inigo’s sword from the Princess Bride.

However, similar swords are certainly available.

Here are some sites to check out:

Give a google.com search a shot. I found some of these using these search terms:

rapier "stainless steel" guard

You get the idea. I bet with some more searching, or help from other dopers, you can find something that’s at least very close.

Have fun shopping!

I don’t have all the urls, but try the Museum Replicas and Chivalry Sports websites. My group of sword collectors have made several purchases from them. Also US Cavalry often has replica blades.

Omega007, would you by any chance happen to have six fingers on your right hand?

I love that movie!!
But, actually, it’s no Inigo’s sword that I like… I love Wesley’s sword… I’m more into the well crafted but plain beauty of it.
