Cyberhwk and I teamed up for a heroic mission yesterday, the first time I’ve run one with a fellow guildie. It was The Esseles, which starts on the Republic fleet, and is a level 11 or so mission. I was 10 when we started by Cyber was 16 so we didn’t have much difficulty mowing down the enemies. It seemed really long though.
Also that’s an excellent mission if you have the Scavenger skill. I went from skill level 15 to about 40 just from scavenging all the droids we killed, which let me get my Armstech up into the 30’s as well (to bad I still can’t make anything useful). Oh, I achieved alignment with the Light side too - does that open up anything at the vendor?
After watching our conversations during the mission I was wondering how the rolls work within the party. It would seem that it’s a straight 1-100 roll to see who responds, but occasionally I’ll see a roll well over 100. I think the same goes for loot rolls as well. Anyone know how that works?
That it did. Mission got me about half a level. Although I did lose focus a couple of times and accidentally pulled a LEROY JENKINS while Skammer was still Scavenging.
I’ve been having trouble connecting to guild chat. I’ll type something like “/guild hello” and nothing will appear. But sometimes it works. Any, if I don’t respond to something in the guild channel, send me a tell, because I probably didn’t see it.
If I remember correctly, right click on the chat tab, then choose something like “create channel”. Type in “sdmb” (not case sensitive). It’ll either create or join.
I like “Death Star Contractor” (nod to Clerks) but I don’t have stong opinions; I’ll join whatever the name. Burning Death Star is fine.
If we need four folks online at the same time we could meet in guild chat on the Republic side and then switch over. We also have a vent channel available that I don’t think anyone has been using.
I am pretty excited about this one, too. I have a friend who keeps supplying me with updates, but I hate the suspense. Just tell me when there is a definite date!!
I’ll be on tonight but not until 7:30 or 8:00 central time. If you still need a guild invite by then just let me know.
To find someone in the guild you can type “/who burning” or even better, right-click on the chat tab and Create Custom Channel named “sdmb.” You can ask in chat for an invite.
I was planning to be on today However I am currently staring at the glacial progress bar of system reinstall:( (well, technically I am staring at SDMB on my laptop right now, but you know)
Really I’ve only done one Essles with another Doper. It was reasonably fun though I was kind of over-leveled for the experience and didn’t get any decent loot. They take a long time though. I think many of them hover around an hour. You get a ton of loot though.
I’ve done Esseles on two different toons (once with Cyberhawk) and Black Talon, Hammer Station and Athiss once each on a third toon. The loot and XP is pretty good if you do them at level - the orange lightsaber I got in Black Talon at level 12 I kept until level 29.
I skipped a few Flashpoints on my main (really all but the first one), but I really want to experience them. Perhaps my secondary character can be of use here.
Also I have a couple mini-siths. Did we ever create a doper - sith guild?
Did I hear that you can talk across factions in private channels? If not, I’m still making a habit of jumping on vent while playing, but no one else does. If you can figure out how to get it to work while playing, log in.
Did you figure it out? I used to jump on vent when I played, but it wouldn’t work when I was playing.
We don’t have a Sith guild yet, but we could start one if we could get four of us on at the same time. I always join /sdmb channel when I’m on my sith.
Just checking what are the timing the people on the guild usually play? I’m at Singapore, and from my experiences with LOTRO people are only online in the wee hours of the morning (for me).
