Sync Calendars: Windows Live Mail / Android. How do?

We have one Windows Live Mail account running on three computers- one with Win7, two with Win10. We also have two Galaxy S4 phones, sharing one account.

HOW does one sync the WLM Calendar with the Android calendar? I’m sure it doesn’t help that Android of course = Google.

Please help me lest I go berserk.

Never mind, I finally found my answer deep in the bowels of google. Hurrah! and so forth.

Mod- I wouldn’t mind if you were to close this thread.

Better yet, post a link or two to share your findings with the rest of us.

Getting the big 3 vendors to play nice is both difficult and a fairly common use case they by and large have no interest in facilitating.

So fight us some ignorance here & share.

Yeah, what did you do? I have to manually upload my Outlook calendar to Google as an iCalendar file.

Okay, settle down. Turns out I crowed too soon.

I followed the directions in this link How to Show Google Calendar In Windows Live Mail Calendar and it worked!

Or so I thought. An hour or so later I discovered that the calendars are synced in only one direction: Google Calendar ==> WLM Calendar. I can read the Google Calendar on the WLM interface, but can’t write to it, which for my purposes is pointless.
I followed up a little and haven’t found a way to make it a two-way sync; one site reported that it just isn’t possible since recent changes by Google.

Crestfallen, I give up. As for my threat to go berserk… ahh, I didn’t mean it.

FWIW … I’ve found that, contrary to fanboy wisdom, Microsoft client and cloud plays nice with everybody, but both Google and Apple have put up deliberate obstacles to make going cross-vendor with their cloud stuff difficult.
