Thank you all! When I woke up this morning Hubby had a lovely mimosa waiting for me, along with a birthday princess tiara and mardi gras beads. (?)
My real present is on back order, so there was a picture of a slipper in the box. (That’s what I asked for, shearling slippers)
Then I was wisked away to our favorite watering hole for breakfast of eggs Benedict and more mimosas. He had hidden a cake in the back seat, so all of our friends from the bar shared it, along with some new friends. At least 8 people wanted to buy me a drink, but since my limit is 3, I had to decline. instead, they all played cool old songs on the juke box.
After brekie, we headed to Emerald Downs for a day of racing. We won something in every race. We actually came out ahead. We covered the bar and food tab and parking. We had comped seats in an owner’s box from a friend who is an owner/trainer.
The weather was perfect. There were a few clouds, just enough to keep the temperature comfortable.
Now I’m ready for bed.
