Taco Bell's new promotion

I hit the Taco Bell drive through yesterday, and I see their latest promotion is “WIN GAS FOR A YEAR!”

I’m sure there are jokes that can be made here…but I just have to wonder who thought this was a good idea?

Taco Bell should be sued for false advertising with everything they use. Pictures are gross exaggerations, ingredients are misleading. Serving sizes are magnified.

I’ve stopped availing myself of their services and hit “mute” as soon as their commercials appear.

The drink glasses say on them “Official Home of Summer Gas”… I pointed this out to some friends of mine and they failed to see the irony in that promotion… I think it quite appropriate…

Surely they must have made the connection!

Everyone I know laughs at the commercials : either way, you still come home with free gas!

oh, they made the connection… the cups say “Eat Big, Get Gas”… at least they are being honest with themselves… and us.

Meijer’s (at least locally) offers gas rebates with their microwave burritos. I’m sure it’s deliberate, at least at some level.

Same thing when White Castle calls them Sliders.

I agree with Zeldar…false advertising! Their food NEVER looks like it does being advertised. It is always luke warm or cold. Half the time the food is “thrown” together and is sloppy to unwrap to eat.

Oh come on Zeldar, what food ever looks like the picture? Nobody gives you what they show you. Take Burger King’s newChicken Caeser Club for example. I got sucked into that one. My mistake. Many times, the food in advertising is not even real food. It just goes with the territory. You should know going in that your food likely won’t be as shown. It’s the name of the game these days.

If you wish to sue Taco Hell you better lump every other franchise in there with them…and don’t stop there, there are plenty of other companies you should sue while you’re at it.

I believe the promotion is over, as they have resumed giving out the plain ol’ purple and white ‘Open Late’ cruiser cups again.
And they knew full well about any ‘gas’ conotations, as some of the losing game pieces said ‘Burrppp!’ on them…
