My grandmother had that kind of pressure cooker, too, swampy. But I think hers had soup or something like that in it when it exploded. Also decorated the ceiling.
Rather entertaining day in** taxi**-land. How’s the management thing going?
That sounds really stressful, Taters. And annoying. Hang in there.
Hope you have a great vacation, BooFae.
Happy Anniversary to the picus!
Long day at work. Meetings from 8:30-4 with only about 15 minutes to grab lunch because I failed to pack lunch. I left at 4:30 because I was tired and had had quite enough of everything.
Am going to knit for a bit more, then it’s off to sleepy-bye.
I am back from Tulsa. Yay! having the worst birthday ever. Boo! It was also mine and mr ems third anniversary yesterday.
Reason for worst birthday ever - last week it all kicked off around Thursday evening mr ems had to haul ass to TX and is still there as his mom was taken into the hospital after being diagnosed with inoperable lung cancer and her breathing went downhill. She has had several breathing treatments and her first round of chemo and got home last night. Radiation next week. She is feeling good especially since they have her on Oxygen and her breathing has improved. Follow up appointment on May 2nd. With the chemo they have given her 6 months.
All this meant all birthday plans cancelled. We were supposed to be meeting my bestest and oldest friend in Vegas on Sunday, Grand Canyon on Saturday and other assorted merriment. And then mr ems didn’t call to even wish be Happy Birthday until I reminded him
So… the Good News is – I wasn’t actually wasting that line on ya
Bad news is… one of us is married. Truth to be told, I’m just “staying in shape,” as it were, in the Sport of Flirting…
Not that it will stop me from flirting some more in the future. I’m incorrigible like that Just don’t take me ***too ***seriously, OK? [/Full Disclosure]
Morning all! I am packed and ready to go. Just got to get the cats in their travel boxes for the run to the cattery in an hour, then we can drop their boxes back here and put our bags in the car then head off to sunny Manchester to the airport.
I am so ready for a break.
Have fun, and don’t make too much mess while I’m gone. Yes, Lunch, I’m looking at you…
G’morning all, and happy Thursday. Have a great vacay, BooFae!
I’m caffeinated and brekkied and ready to go to work. What I’ll be able to do when I’m there is another story, though … I only hope that I’ll get my old HD back. With all my settings in tact. ::crosses fingers and knocks on wood three times::
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 65 Amurrkin out with a high in the low 90s and still waitin’ on the promised tboomers. I’m gettin’ mighty impatient.
mmmmmms sorry about the bday bust. Here’s hopin’ for the best for Mr. mmmmms mom. I’ll keep her, him and you in my thoughts and prayers. Sounds like he’s under a lot of stress with this, so, cut him a little slack. Agin’ parents and their health problems are no fun to deal with.
::Hides Under Bed:: :eek:
I gather the bday was yesterday or so. However, just so I shall not be remiss…
<AHEM> CLEARING THROAT <AHEM>
Hey Special1: more posts from both of us in this MMP than we’ve done for awhile. It’s a Passover miracle…
Swampy, I love the word “maundy”. It’s a good sounding word.
CitizenPained (for whom we have yet to find a satisfactory nick): I love Denver. When I lived in St. Louis we would go to Grand Junction all the time and spend a night or two in Denver. Cool city.
Must now go give an exam to the poor unsuspecting students.
Or (at least for me) just Passover Vacation. It wasn’t really the physical time I needed, but rather a break from the craziness of life in order to get the Yearning to Post back.
C&P? or maybe use the full term – Cut&Paste…? (d&r)
Soapy it’s just another manic Maundy. I stole that from YP.
Howdy from East Albeeeeeeny Medical Center where I’m watchin’ people put up a chair rail. The place is bein’ remodeled. So, I’m facin’ somebody’s backside as he puts up the rail. Ummm… nice view!
Happy Birthday and Anniversary MMMMmmmmmmm, Sorry about the Mum-in-law.
Hope the kidlets are good today LiLi
I knew a girl in Denver once, and that’s all I dare say about that.
I may finally get to mow the lawn today. All our neighbors mowed earlier in the week and are making us look bad. Our mower will only bag grass when it is bone dry, otherwise it clogs up and stalls. Gotta wait til the sun is well and truely UP though.
